The Rock may be unable to compete at WrestleMania 43 because his filming schedule for Fast Forever could leave him without enough time to prepare for a match. Dave Meltzer believes an appearance in Saudi Arabia remains possible, but wrestling at the event is becoming “very unlikely.”
WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027, marking the first time WWE has held WrestleMania outside North America. WWE officially announced Riyadh as the host city in September 2025.
The Rock has naturally been discussed as a possible attraction for the show due to his history with WWE and the financial scale of the company’s Saudi Arabian events. Meltzer reported that Saudi officials wanted The Rock to wrestle at WrestleMania 43, but his movie commitments could prevent it from happening.
Fast Forever, the next film in the Fast & Furious series, is expected to begin production in December 2026. The movie is scheduled for release on March 17, 2028, and The Rock is expected to return as Luke Hobbs.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Saudi officials want The Rock to compete at WrestleMania 43. A large financial offer could make a deal possible, but his preparation time remains the main problem. The Rock trains extensively before returning to WWE and is unlikely to wrestle without being physically ready. Working on the movie for several months would leave him with limited time to prepare for a full match.
A non-wrestling appearance is still possible. The Rock could travel to Saudi Arabia for a promo or storyline segment without competing inside the ring.
