WWE Announces Roman Reigns’ Return And Two Title Matches For August 31 Raw

WWE has announced Roman Reigns’ return and two championship-related matches for the August 31, 2026 episode of Monday Night Raw. The World Heavyweight Champion will appear one week after The Usos’ match against Solo Sikoa and LA Knight ended in chaos. Royce Keys turned against his former allies and introduced OTM members Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, who attacked the competitors and left Sikoa and Knight laid out at ringside.

Reigns was not part of the closing segment, but his return will allow WWE to address the latest change in the Bloodline story. Solo has refused to fall back in line behind Reigns, while LA Knight has also remained involved in the dispute. The arrival of Keys and OTM has now brought another group into the situation.

WWE has not announced what Reigns will do during the show. However, his appearance comes shortly before his next World Heavyweight Championship defense. Penta will face his brother Rey Fenix in the final of the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament. Fenix earned his place in the final by defeating Dragon Lee on the August 24 episode of Raw. Penta advanced later in the show with a victory over La Parka.

The winner will challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship when Raw takes place in Mexico City on September 14. WWE’s official tournament announcement confirms that the final will determine Reigns’ challenger.

Although Penta and Fenix have shared the ring numerous times during their careers, the Raw match carries a different reward. Only one brother can advance to Mexico City and compete for WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns’ appearance could also give him an opportunity to watch the tournament final and confront the man who will challenge him.

Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez will defend her title against Sol Ruca. Ruca received the match after defeating Lyra Valkyria. Following that victory, Ruca made it clear that she wanted another opportunity to face Rodriguez and reclaim championship gold.

Valkyria was also interested in challenging Rodriguez, but Ruca refused to give up the opportunity she had earned. Their exchange suggested that Valkyria could remain involved in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship picture even though she is not part of the announced match. Rodriguez and Ruca already have history surrounding the title. Their next meeting gives Ruca another chance to defeat the Judgment Day member, while Rodriguez will attempt to continue her reign.
