About This Movie

Kalki 2898 AD Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi epic set in a distant future where the world has descended into darkness and desolation. The powerful city of Kasi rules over a barren Earth, exploiting its people and hoarding what little remains of nature's resources. Amid this dystopian chaos, an ancient prophecy foretells the arrival of the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu — Kalki — who will end the Kali Yuga and restore balance to the universe. The story follows Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter driven by greed and ambition, whose life takes a dramatic turn when he crosses paths with SUM-80 (Deepika Padukone), a mysterious woman carrying a divine child. Guided by the immortal warrior Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), Bhairava's journey transforms from one of self-interest to destiny as he becomes entwined in the cosmic struggle between good and evil. Blending ancient Indian mythology with futuristic sci-fi elements, Kalki 2898 AD explores faith, redemption, and destiny on an epic scale, culminating in the rise of a saviour who will reshape the fate of humanity.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge Box Office Havoc: Shatters Overseas Records and Surpasses RRR & KGF 2 to Claim 2nd Spot in All Time Day 2 India Net Collections

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has unleashed an unprecedented storm at the global box office, solidifying its status as a certified juggernaut within just forty-eight hours of its release. The film is not merely performing; it is rewriting the record books by dominating key international markets and staging a massive comeback in the domestic circuit. After an explosive start, the film's second-day momentum has been described by trade analysts as mind-boggling, particularly in North America and the UK, where ticket sales are reaching levels rarely seen for Indian cinema. This global havoc is a testament to the massive screen count and the immense drawing power of the franchise, which has successfully captured the attention of both the Indian diaspora and local audiences abroad. According to the latest verified data from Comscore , Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has amassed a staggering total of approximately ₹90.81 Crore ($10.9M+) in international territories over its first two days. In the United States alone, the film collected $4,944,541 (₹46.34 Cr), while Canada contributed another $2,000,268 (₹18.75 Cr), bringing the North American total past the $6.9 Million mark. The UK and Australia markets also showed exceptional strength, with collections of £927,577 (₹11.60 Cr) and A$1,485,736 (₹9.80 Cr) respectively. These figures place Dhurandhar 2 among the elite top three all-time overseas openers, nearly matching the early pace of RRR and comfortably outpacing recent blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD and KGF Chapter 2. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The most significant narrative of the film's box office journey lies in its extraordinary leap in the domestic India Net rankings. On its opening day, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge stood at the fourth position in the all-time list, trailing behind the massive multi-language starts of Pushpa 2: The Rule, RRR, and KGF Chapter 2. However, the Day 2 performance witnessed a historic surge, with the film's cumulative India Net total reaching ₹226.27 Crore. By achieving this figure, Dhurandhar 2 has officially surpassed the two-day totals of Rajamouli's RRR (₹216.70 Cr) and Yash's KGF Chapter 2 (₹206.50 Cr), effectively jumping from the fourth spot to the second spot in the all-time India Net standings. Crucially, the regional dubbed versions of Dhurandhar 2 were delayed and only began their full-scale theatrical run starting today (Saturday). Had these versions been active from the opening show, the film likely would have bridged the gap to challenge the benchmark set by Pushpa 2.The revenge of Dhurandhar 2 on the charts, achieved primarily through its lead version, has sent shockwaves through the industry, signaling that a massive spike is imminent as the regional markets finally join the fray over the weekend. All-Time Top 5 Movies: 2-Day India Net Collection MOVIE NAME 2-DAY INDIA NET COLLECTION Pushpa 2: The Rule ₹ 268.70 Cr Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge ₹ 226.27 Cr RRR ₹ 216.70 Cr KGF: Chapter 2 ₹ 206.50 Cr Kalki 2898 AD ₹ 154.60 Cr (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Analyzing the global scenario, Dhurandhar 2's performance is driven by a unique synergy between mass-market appeal in India and a premium-large-format dominance overseas. The film's ability to maintain high occupancy even on its second day—typically a period where non-event films see a sharp decline—highlights the strength of the positive word-of-mouth. In North America, the film is benefiting from a record 4,405 shows, which is allowing it to challenge the single-day records of legendary hits. As the weekend progresses, trade experts suggest that the Saturday and Sunday numbers might push the film even closer to the current all-time leaders, especially as the regional language versions in South India begin to see a predicted spike in footfalls. All-Time Top 5 Movies: 2-Day Overseas Gross Collection MOVIE NAME 2-DAY OVERSEAS COLLECTION Pushpa 2: The Rule ₹ 98.00 Cr Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge ₹ 90.81 Cr RRR ₹ 90.00 Cr Kalki 2898 AD ₹ 85.00 Cr KGF: Chapter 2 ₹ 46.00 Cr The global reception for Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge confirms that it is more than just a domestic success; it is a cultural phenomenon that has successfully bridge the gap between various regional audiences. With its 2-day overseas total surpassing ₹90 Crore, it has narrowly edged out RRR to secure the second spot in that category as well. This dual dominance in both India Net and Overseas Gross makes it one of the most balanced box office performers in the history of Indian cinema. With the Sunday estimates looking even stronger, Dhurandhar 2 can maintain this velocity and eventually challenge the lifetime milestones of the very benchmarks it is currently eclipsing.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge Witnesses Phenomenal Momentum on BookMyShow; Sequel Eyes a Historical Landmark as it Chases the All Time Highest Hourly Sales Record Set by Pushpa 2

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has officially secured its position among the elite performers in Indian cinema history following its explosive theatrical release. The film recorded a peak hourly ticket sale of 73.92K on BookMyShow, making it the eighth-highest hourly performer when excluding pre-sale focused data from other upcoming releases. This momentum highlights the strong audience pull of the sequel, which is currently trending with immense intensity across the country. While the first installment of the franchise had previously set a high benchmark of 77K tickets per hour, the sequel is maintaining a consistent pace that suggests a long and successful theatrical run. The record for the highest hourly sales in the history of the platform is currently held by Pushpa 2: The Rule, which achieved a staggering peak of 107.65K tickets in a single hour. This is followed by the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, which saw a peak of 95.71K tickets, surpassing previous records held by major Bollywood blockbusters. Other top performers in this prestigious list include Kantara Chapter 1 with 87.9K tickets and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which recorded 86K tickets during its peak period. The top five is rounded off by the Tamil blockbuster Leo, which achieved 82.4K tickets per hour, showcasing the massive pan-India demand for high-budget action cinema. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Further down the list, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal remains a strong contender with a peak of 80.15K hourly sales, reflecting its massive footfalls and historical status on the platform. Following Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge at the eighth spot is Border 2, which has shown incredible demand with a peak of 72K tickets per hour. The tenth spot is currently occupied by the horror-comedy Stree 2, which recorded 69.23K tickets. The inclusion of Dhurandhar 2 in this list is a testament to the franchise's growth and the audience's appetite for high-stakes intelligence thrillers in the current market. The current intensity of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge points toward a potential entry into the elite 1000 crore net club. By combining high-quality filmmaking with a story that appeals to everyone, the movie is seeing an incredible response from the public, which is causing tickets to sell at a record-breaking speed on online booking platforms. As the movie continues to dominate the ticket windows, these steady sales show it will likely stay popular for many weeks to come. It has the potential to match the total earnings of other massive hit films, and it will be interesting to see if it can eventually overtake the huge record set by Pushpa 2.

The Raja Saab Box Office: Opening Weekend Comparison With Radhe Shyam, Salaar, Kalki, and Adipurush

Hyderabad, January 12 - Pan India superstar Prabhas' The Raja Saab has opened to a 161 crore worldwide over its first weekend, marking an underwhelming start for the romantic horror entertainer. It was an experimental film for Prabhas, who hadn't anything like this before. However, despite the newness, the film failed to make much impact and scored the second-lowest opening weekend for the actor since the Pan India phenomena, Baahubali. When placed alongside Prabhas' biggest post-pandemic openers, The Raja Saab trails significantly behind Kalki 2898 AD, which delivered a thunderous 341.3 crore Friday to Sunday opening weekend, emerging as his biggest post-COVID debut so far. Similarly, Salaar stormed the box office with 325 crore in its first three days, driven by massive fan frenzy, strong mass appeal, and record-breaking openings in the South Indian markets. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Director Om Raut's Adipurush also enjoyed an enormous initial response with 302 crore over its opening weekend, powered largely by pre-release hype and the devotional angle, even though it plummeted after that due to poor word of mouth. In contrast, Raja Saab has opened closer to Radhe Shyam, which collected 130 crore in its opening weekend and struggled to sustain momentum due to negative audience reception. Overall, The Raja Saab finds itself in the mid-range of Prabhas' post-pandemic box office spectrum. Even though it has escaped the bottom standing, the numbers are still not sufficient given the massive budget and starpower of Prabhas. The film is now dependent on the Sankranthi holidays to bring in some numbers and take it to a respectable position. Prabhas' Post-Pandemic Films' Worldwide Opening Weekend S. Prabhas' Kalki Part 2 Shoot To Begin In February 2026

Hyderabad, December 31 - After the big success of sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, the makers are gearing up to take the Kalki universe forward with its much-awaited sequel. As per the latest buzz in Telugu media, Part 2 of Prabhas-starrer is set to go on floors in February 2026, after months of delay. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2 has been in pre-production for quite some time now, with the team carefully chalking out the scale, action blocks, and visual effects-heavy portions. Given the enormous scope of the sequel, the makers are reportedly taking time to fine-tune the script and technical execution to ensure it matches, or even surpasses, the first part's cinematic impact. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Prabhas, who is currently juggling multiple big-ticket projects, is expected to allocate dedicated dates for Kalki Part 2 starting early 2026. The film will once again be mounted on a grand scale, with extensive use of cutting-edge VFX and large studio setups. Key cast members from the first instalment, including Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, are also expected to reprise their roles. The production of the film hit a major roadblock when the makers announced the exit of Deepika Padukone, reportedly due to her exaggerated demands. The actress played a crucial role in the first part, and now, the makers are looking for a new actress to replace her, for which the announcement is expected to be made soon. With Kalki 2898 AD establishing itself as one of the most ambitious Indian films ever made, expectations are sky-high for Kalki Part 2. Prabhas and epic sci-fi cinema rooted in Indian culture are eagerly waiting for the makers to make a formal announcement regarding this mega project. The film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. Top 10 Biggest South Indian Opening Day Grossers At The Hindi Box Office: Pushpa 2 Rules As Kantara Chapter 1 Takes 8th Spot

Mumbai, October 3 - South Indian cinema continues to make a mark at the Hindi box office, and the latest to enter the race is Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1, which has taken a good start in the dubbed version, scoring 18.50 crore opening day. Among the top 10 biggest South Indian openers at the Hindi box office, Kantara 2 has secured the 8th spot. At the very top of the list is Allu Arjun's Pan India phenomenon, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which rewrote box office history with a mammoth 70 crore opening day in Hindi, which is a record. This number is far ahead of every other South release and firmly establishes Pushpa 2 as a true pan-India monster. Kannada superstar Yash's KGF Chapter 2 follows next with 54 crore net opening, a record that held strong until Pushpa 2 arrived. SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion sits at number 3 with 41 crores net. It is worth noting that it was the Baahubali franchise, which originally opened the floodgates for South dominance in Hindi belts. Prabhas, easily the biggest South Indian star in the Hindi market, makes multiple entries in the top 10, with Saaho making it to the top 5, followed by his Kalki 2898 AD. Rajamouli's RRR, along with superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's sci-fi extravaganza 2.0, also entered the list with solid openings. Breaking into this power-packed list at No. 8, Kantara Chapter 1, which is the second Kannada movie in this coveted list. Unlike mass-heavy commercial entertainers like KGF or Pushpa, Kantara thrives on its unique storytelling, cultural rootedness, and mysticism, yet still managed to draw audiences in large numbers on day one. Prabhas' Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire, followed by Ram Charan's Game Changer, and Jr. NTR's Devara Part 1, take the remaining spots in the list. The last two are the only films with less than 10 crores net openings in the list in the Hindi version. Top Films With 100 Crore Openings At The Indian Box Office: Prabhas Dominates With Five Films

Hyderabad, September 26 - The Indian box office has seen several historic milestones over the last few years, but only a few films have managed to cross the coveted 100 crore mark on the first day in the domestic market. Dominated by Telugu origin films, the elite club is reserved for the biggest spectacles that not only ride on star power but also on unprecedented hype, massive release scales, and pan-India appeal. At the very top of the list is Pan India superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule, which stormed into cinemas with an earth-shattering 209 crore opening in India — the biggest single-day haul ever recorded in the country. Close on its heels are director SS Rajamouli's blockbusters RRR and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which grossed 156 crore and 153 crore respectively, setting benchmarks that seemed unbeatable at the time. Yash's KGF Chapter 2 followed with 134.50 crore, while Prabhas made his mark again with Kalki 2898 AD at 116 crore, Salaar at 107.10 crore, Saaho at 105 crore and Adipurush at 102.50 crore gross. The latest film in this prestigious club is Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, which is estimated to gross over 100 crores in India. What's remarkable is that, except for one film, every single one of these 100 crore openers comes from South Indian cinema. The Telugu industry, in particular, has redefined the meaning of a "mass opening" in Indian cinema. Backed by visionary filmmakers like Rajamouli, Sukumar, Nag Ashwin, and Prashanth Neel, and powered by stars such as Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Yash, these films have created a cultural and commercial wave that Bollywood has yet to match. Today, breaching the 100 crore mark on opening day in India has become the ultimate benchmark for any big-ticket release. With upcoming projects from the same powerhouses — be it sequels, mythological spectacles, or high-octane action dramas — the club is only expected to expand further. As Indian cinema continues to scale new heights, these films remain towering examples of how a perfect mix of scale, vision, and star power can turn a release into a nationwide festival. Director Nag Ashwin Shares A Cryptic Post After Deepika Padukone's Exit From Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD Sequel

Hyderabad, September 19 - Director Nag Ashwin has shared a cryptic post, seemingly targeting Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, after she was dropped from the sequel to Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD, following her allegedly over-the-top demands. The news of Deepika's departure came as a shock to her fans, but also not a surprise, given how things have gone in recent times. Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin has reacted to the development. The filmmaker took to Instagram and re-shared a video of Krishna's entry scene from Kalki, 2898 AD, captioning it, "You can't change what happened, but you can choose what happens next." Ashwin's cryptic story quickly went viral across social media platforms, with many speculating that it was aimed at Deepika. The users assume that the makers are clearly not happy with Deepika and are angry. But the users also point out that Nag Ashwin should not use code language to react to the same, and directly say things. Nonetheless, it was a big opportunity for Deepika to score limelight as her character will be the major highlight in Kalki 2, which is otherwise filled with star-studded. The actress essayed the role of Sumati, a pregnant lab subject of Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki, in the 2023 hit Kalki 2898 AD. The shooting timeline of Kalki 2 is not revealed yet, but the majority of the shoot will take place next year. Some reports say it will commence in October this year with Kamal Haasan, but Prabhas and the rest of the team will join early next year. Stay tuned...

Reason Behind Deepika Padukone's Exit From Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD Revealed

Hyderabad, September 18 - Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is once again the media headline for the wrong reasons. The actress has been dropped from Prabhas-fronted highly-awaited epic sci-fi Kalki 2, which is scheduled to go on floors next year. The makers issued a statement announcing the actress's departure from the film. While the makers didn't reveal the clear reasons, the statement seemingly addressed the lack of commitment by the actress towards the film. Deepika will now be replaced by another actress, who is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the unreasonable demands of the Pathaan actress were the reason has been dropped from the film. It is said that Deepika demanded a 25% increment on the acting fees she was paid for the first part of the film. She also demanded only 7 hours of work a day. Given that Kalki 2898 AD is a VFX-heavy film, such short shoots were likely to shoot up the budget by a reasonable amount. The Bollywood Hungama report further stressed that the producers were ready to provide a luxury vanity to Deepika, in return for longer shoot hours, and also tried to negotiate finances, given that even Prabhas had not asked for an increment in fees, but she and her team refused to adjust on either. Apart from the aforementioned demands, Deepika also demanded a five-star accommodation for her team, which reportedly consists of 25 people. These never-ending demands of the actress left the producer with no choice but to drop her and replace her with someone else. This is not the first time Deepika has been in the news for such invalid demands. She recently left Prabhas-fronted Spirit, which is scheduled to go on floors in the next couple of months. It is said that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was shocked to see the lack of professionalism of the actress, and he also seemingly addressed the same on social media. Stay tuned...
