Following a recent shift in the YRF Spy Universe schedule, filming for Pathaan 2 is now expected to commence in mid-2026. Pre-production is slated to begin in late 2025. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are confirmed to reprise their roles as Pathaan and Rubina Mohsin, respectively. However, the sequel will see a change in direction, as Siddharth Anand, who helmed the first film, will not be returning. Mumbai, February 25 - After going through a dry period of nearly 5 years, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a roaring comeback with Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Pathaan in 2023. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film emerged as a massive blockbuster, grossing over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Pathaan is a part of YRF's Spy Universe and its mega-success almost confirmed the sequel. A few months after the movie's release in January 2023, it was reported that producer Aditya Chopra was working on the script of Pathaan 2. Now, a new update has emerged regarding the same. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Aditya Chopra has locked the script of the sequel which is designed not only to carry forward Pathaan's story but also to lay the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming instalments of YRF's Spy Universe. It was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long.## The script, written by Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala with Chopra, promises to surpass the first film in both scale and intensity. Aditya has also taken inputs from SRK for the Pathaan 2 script and the superstar is said to be super impressed with the way the sequel is heading. ## The director for the same is not locked yet. Reports suggest that Anand would not return to direct the sequel. There have been rumours that Ayan Mukerji, who is currently directing YRF's War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, might take on the directorial duty of Pathaan 2 as well, but nothing has been confirmed yet. ## The shoot of Pathaan 2 will commence early next year after SRK completes filming of the action thriller King, to be directed by Sidharth Anand. King, who also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma, will start rolling out in April or May this year for a grand worldwide release in 2026. ## Meanwhile, the next film in the YRF Spy Universe is War 2, which is gearing up for release on August 14 this year, followed by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh-led Alpha in December 2025. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are set to reunite for action thriller King after delivering a big blockbuster last year in the form of Pathaan. Anand will also produce the movie with Red Chillies Entertainment. ## King, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, was supposed to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh who has now been replaced by Anand. The shoot of the film is expected to commence in March 2025 for a grand worldwide release in 2026. ## "The prep work for this action-packed entertainer has been underway for the last 6 months, as Siddharth Anand and his team have done multiple rounds of recce all across the globe and also designed path-breaking action sequences with stunt directors of international repute", according to Pinkvilla. ## The film is written by Sujoy Ghosh with Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair and Sagar Pandya while Abbas Tyrewala penned the dialogue. It is said that the film will have explosive action and will have some of the biggest action sequences of Indian Cinema, competing with global standards. ## Meanwhile, apart from SRK, Suhana, and Abhishek, the makers are in the process of locking an A-list actress to pair with the King Khan.
