Mumbai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil action thriller Maharaja has topped 150 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, thanks to the fantastic run in China. This is the first movie of the actor in the lead role to top this milestone. ## Maharaja was released in China on November 29 and in the first week, the film grossed approximately 41 crores which pushed its total worldwide cume to around 147 crores gross. On its second Friday, Maharaja has grossed approximately 5.50 crores which took its total collection past the 150 crores mark. ## After the second Friday collection in China, Maharaja has surpassed Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (149 crores gross) to become the 5th highest-grossing Tamil movie and also the 5th 150 crores Tamil grosser of 2024 at the worldwide box office. It will surpass Dhanush's Raayan (154 crores gross) by tomorrow to climb one more step. ## Maharaja has a shot at 200 crores worldwide gross if it manages to extend its superb run in China which is looking possible as it continues to be among the top 3 movies at the Chinese box office for the last few days, beating the likes of Moana 2, Wicked, and many other local releases.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 6 - Kannada superstar Yash rose to nationwide fame after the monstrous success of KGF 2 which is the highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time. The actor is now shooting for national award-winning director Geetu Mohandas' gangster action drama titled Toxic which will be released next year.## Yash recently landed in Mumbai to shoot for Toxic and according to a report by Filmfare, the actor visited superstar Shah Rukh Khan at his residence, Mannat which has sparked rumours about their possible collaboration.## While the exact details of the duo's meet are not known yet, rumours are making the rounds that they met to discuss a collaboration which is in the works. Mumbai, December 6 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has stormed the box office as becomes the biggest opener ever in Hindi, beating superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller Jawan which took the opening of 65.50 crores net in Hindi. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 minted approximately 70 crores net collection in the dubbed Hindi version, thus emerging as the biggest opener. It is only the second movie ever after Jawan to breach the 60 crore mark and the first to 70 crore net on the pure opening day, as the third best is Pathaan with a 55 crore net start. ## Here are the top 5 biggest opening-day net collections in Hindi (without premieres) - ## 1. Chennai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has completed its first week at the China box office with a superb collection of close to 41 crores gross, including premieres. It has already become the highest-grossing Tamil movie on the mainland. ## After grossing approximately 26.50 crores in the opening weekend (including premiers), Maharaja showed a stronghold on Monday by scoring 3 crore gross. The movie has shown an upward trend since Monday as the collection for the rest of the week was higher than the previous day (from Tuesday to Thursday). ## The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial minted $4.82 million (40.80 crores gross) in the full first week which is a fantastic total. Maharaja is the highest-grossing Indian movie in China since Thugs Of Hindostan in November 2018. Overall, the Tamil blockbuster is the 13 biggest Indian grosser there. ## Maharaja is expected to have a strong second weekend as word of mouth is super positive. The film has an 8.6 rating on the Chinese movie review site Douban and is regarded as "one of the highest-rated Indian films in recent years". ## After the first week of collection in China, Maharaja's worldwide total is nearing 150 crores gross which it will achieve by the second weekend. Mumbai, December 5 - It's red letter day for the Indian cinema which is seeing history being re-written at the box office, courtesy of the most hyped movie in recent times, Pushpa 2 - The Rule starring superstar Allu Arjun and director by Sukumar. ## After the record-breaking night previews on December 4, the action drama set the box office on fire on its opening day and created history by taking the biggest opening ever in India, beating the record of SS Rajamouli's RRR by a good margin. ## The film is flirting with the biggest opening ever in Hindi which is with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (65.50 crores net). According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 has scored around 65 crores net and the opening can be higher than Jawan depending on the single screen numbers which will be known by tomorrow. ## In Telugu states, the blockbuster is estimated to gross in the range of 85+ crores on its first day and including previews (December 4), the opening is estimated to be around 100 crores gross in AP/TG, making it only the second movie after RRR to score 100+ crore opening in this region (per estimates). ## In Karnataka, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross in the range of 15 crores, followed by 9-10 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and 6-7 crores gross in Kerala. Overall, the film has grossed an estimated 195+ crores (160+ crores net), and including previews, the opening of the film is around 205+ crores gross (estimates), making it the first film ever to cross 200 crores gross opening day in India. ## This historic opening has come on a non-holiday and on a proper working day which makes it even more special. Mumbai, December 5 - After the historic blockbuster success of Gadar 2, Bollywood star Sunny Deol will next be seen in Telugu director Gopichand Malineni's action drama Jaat and the teaser for the same has been launched exclusively in theatres with superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule on December 5. ## The over-a-minute-long teaser is action-packed with seetmaar dialogues and it promises a solid follow to Gadar 2 for Sunny Deol. The makers have also confirmed that Jaat will be released in April 2025, however, the exact date is not revealed officially. ## Meanwhile, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, Jaat will be released in cinemas on April 10, 2025. Mumbai, December 5 - Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is set for his Bollywood debut with director Imtiaz Ali's next film, touted to be an unconventional love story, in line with the genre Imtiaz is popularly known for. Triptii Dimri has been roped in to play the female lead. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, Ali and Fahadh Faasil have been discussing the film for quite some time and the project was recently finalized as the actor signed on the dotted lines to officially come on board the film. ## "Imtiaz is known for pushing boundaries in love stories, and this one promises to stand out in his repertoire where Triptii’s pairing with Fahadh adds an exciting and unique dimension to this collaboration", says the report adding that Ali is currently finishing the script and aiming to start production in the first quarter of 2025. ## The yet-untitled film will be produced by Ali under his banner, Window Seat Films. Mumbai, December 3 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's next film in the lead role, crime thriller Raid 2 release date has moved back by 3 months and it will now be released in May 2025. The film is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and is the sequel to 2018's Raid. ## Produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series Films, Raid 2 was scheduled for February 21, 2025, release and it will now hit the big screen on May 1st. Ajay Devgn will return to reprise his role as IRS Ajay Devgn. Ritesh Deshmukh is playing the antagonist role while Vaani Kapoor is the female lead. ## The postponement of Raid 2 on May 1st means Ajay Devgn's romantic comedy De De Pyaar 2 which is scheduled for the same date, has also been postponed. The new release date of DDPD 2, however, is yet to be announced officially by the makers. ## DDPD 2 is directed by Anshul Sharma and it will see Ajay Devgn returning to reprise his role along with Rakul Preet Singh while R.
