Mumbai, September 11 - Sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, is one of the biggest hits of the year in the Hindi language. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie scored approximately 294 crores net collection in the dubbed version and is currently the second biggest of 2024. ## Kalki 2898 AD was sold to Netflix for the post-theatrical streaming of the Hindi version at a handsome price. Given the fantastic box office performance, it was expected to be a big success for the streamer, however, the response so far has been underwhelming as far as the Hindi version is concerned. ## The movie debuted on Netflix with a promising viewership of 4.5 million views in the opening weekend. However, due to mixed reception on OTT, the viewership dipped in the second week to 2.6 million views and in the third week, it was down to just 900K views which is lower than the third-week viewership of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1.6 million) which was a box office disaster.## The total views of the Kalki Hindi version on Netflix are 8 million after 17 days and it will probably be out of the top 10 chart by the next week, keeping it under 10 million views which is poor viewership for a movie that was reportedly sold for a whopping 175 crores in the dubbed version. ## The viewership of Kalki 2898 AD on Netflix is one of the lowest for a major blockbuster since the platform introduced the Top 10 chart.## Produced by C. Mumbai, September 11 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reunited with director Priyadarshan for a horror-comedy film, titled Bhooth Bangla. This marks the second horror-comedy for the duo after the iconic, Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and their first collaboration in 14 years since Khataa Meetha (2010). ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the makers have got back some of the cast of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for Bhooth Bangal. It is said that the OG Trio of Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani have come on board the film to play prominent roles. ## "It's the return of the team which has brought about a smile on the face of cinema-going audiences from across generations. Bhooth Bangla is a perfect script that warrants their reunion, as every character has a trait that would evoke laughter", says the report. ## The pre-production of Bhooth Bangla is going on in full swing and the makers aim to take it on floors by early 2025 for a grand big-screen release later in the year. Mumbai, September 11 - Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid 2 has officially been postponed to February next year. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the prominent roles. ## Raid 2, which is the sequel to Raid (2018), will be hitting worldwide theaters on February 21, 2025. It was supposed to be released on November 15 this year but due to another film of Ajay scheduled to be released in November in the form of Singham Again, the makers have pushed Raid 2 back by nearly 4 months. ## Just like the first movie, Raid 2 is also based on true incidents. Ajay Devgn returns to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white-collar crime. Riteish Deshmukh plays the antagonist role while Vaani is the female lead and both are the new addition to the cast. ## Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios. Mumbai, September 10 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana is the biggest Indian film in the making and the shoot for the same is happening at a brisk pace with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. The actor has already completed 90% of his work on Ramayana: Part One. Now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, superstar Yash, who plays the role of Raavan, will start shooting for this epic in December this year. ## It is said that Yash has undergone several look tests for his character in Ramayana and is all set to start shooting in December 2024 after completing a major chunk of his next, the Geethu Mohandas-directed Toxic. Mumbai, September 10 - One of the most-awaited films of the year, Telugu superstar Jr. NTR-fronted action drama Devara - Part 1 is breaking pre-sales records in North America as it already crossed $1 million for the premiere even before the trailer was launched.## It is said that no other Indian film in the past breached $1 million in pre-sales in North America before the trailer was launched and Devara is the first to achieve this feat which speaks a lot about the hype around the movie, not just in India but outside as well. ## Jr. NTR, at the trailer launch event of Devara in Mumbai on September 10, reacted to the record-breaking response to the film in advance sales. The actor said that they had nothing to do with it as it is the love of the fans and audience which is pouring in the form of pre-sales. He showered gratitude towards fans for the love and support they have given his films over the years. ## It is to be noted that Devara is Jr. NTR's first film since RRR (2022) which was a big success in North America with over $15 million. The actor's popularity is at an all-time high and advance booking in NA is just a small glimpse of it. ## Devara is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts. The movie stars Jr. NTR in a dual role alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in their Telugu debut. Chennai, September 10 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has crossed 300 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the second movie of the actor to achieve the feat after last year's Leo. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT topped 300 crores worldwide gross after scoring approximately 22 crores gross on its 5th day for around 303 crores. With this, it has outgrossed the lifetime total of Bigil (295 crores) and Varisu (297.50 crores) to become Thalapathy Vijay's second-biggest grosser. ## The GOAT is performing very well at the home state, Tamil Nadu where it has so far grossed approximately 120 crores in 5 days. The rest of the domestic market has been underwhelming with 58 crores gross, for 178 crores total India gross. ## Overseas, The GOAT is exceptional with approximately 125 crores gross collection which is the second highest for Vijay after Leo's 204 crores gross collection. Leo is also the biggest worldwide grosser of Vijay with approximately 606 crores gross. ## The GOAT is the 7th Tamil movie of all time to enter the 300 crores gross club, after 2.0, Leo, Jailer, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 and Part 2, and Vikram. Mumbai, September 10 - Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's 2016 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam might not have performed well at the box office, but it received acclaim for its music and performances back in the day that it is considered one of the best romance dramas in Bollywood. ## 8 years after Sanam Teri Kasam, the movie is getting a sequel with Harshvardhan Rane returning to reprise his role. The movie was officially announced on Tuesday (September 10) with Deepak Mukut of Soham Rockstar Entertainment producing it. ## While the makers haven't announced officially yet, it is said that the director duo of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru will also be returning to helm Sanam Teri Kasam 2 which will go on floors soon. Los Angeles, September 10 - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 is officially in development and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been handed over duty to direct it, per The Hollywood Reporter.## Amid the speculation of who would take up the role to direct one of the biggest Hollywood films in the making, Cretton is set to lend the job. The filmmaker will bring fresh blood to this iteration of Spider-Man. Tom Holland will return to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the upcoming film. ## Destin Daniel Cretton will be the fourth director to direct a Spider-Man movie. Earlier, Jon Watts directed the previous three Holland-starring movies, while Marc Webb helmed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield. Sam Raimi directed the trilogy that featured Tobey Maguire. ## The production of Spider-Man will commence in early 2025, and according to rumours, it will be released in July 2026, a couple of months after Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Interestingly, Cretton was supposed to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (now Avengers: Doomsday), but was dropped amid the project's changing production schedule. ## Meanwhile, Cretton also has Sang-Chi 2 and a live-action adaptation of Naruto in the pipeline to direct.
