Mumbai, September 10 - Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's 2016 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam might not have performed well at the box office, but it received acclaim for its music and performances back in the day that it is considered one of the best romance dramas in Bollywood. ## 8 years after Sanam Teri Kasam, the movie is getting a sequel with Harshvardhan Rane returning to reprise his role. The movie was officially announced on Tuesday (September 10) with Deepak Mukut of Soham Rockstar Entertainment producing it. ## While the makers haven't announced officially yet, it is said that the director duo of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru will also be returning to helm Sanam Teri Kasam 2 which will go on floors soon. Los Angeles, September 10 - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 is officially in development and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been handed over duty to direct it, per The Hollywood Reporter.## Amid the speculation of who would take up the role to direct one of the biggest Hollywood films in the making, Cretton is set to lend the job. The filmmaker will bring fresh blood to this iteration of Spider-Man. Tom Holland will return to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the upcoming film. ## Destin Daniel Cretton will be the fourth director to direct a Spider-Man movie. Earlier, Jon Watts directed the previous three Holland-starring movies, while Marc Webb helmed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield. Sam Raimi directed the trilogy that featured Tobey Maguire. ## The production of Spider-Man will commence in early 2025, and according to rumours, it will be released in July 2026, a couple of months after Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Interestingly, Cretton was supposed to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (now Avengers: Doomsday), but was dropped amid the project's changing production schedule. ## Meanwhile, Cretton also has Sang-Chi 2 and a live-action adaptation of Naruto in the pipeline to direct. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time sees a drop of around 60% on its first Monday, which is a working day from Sunday, which was expected due to mixed word of mouth and huge first-weekend collection. ## The drop could have been even bigger if not for the home state, Tamil Nadu where the movie remained solid by holding close to 50% collection on Sunday. According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score in the range of 13-14 crores gross collection on its 5th day/first Monday in Tamil Nadu. ## The total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is around 120 crores in 5 days. The stardom of Thalapathy Vijay on the home turf continues to attract the audience that is proving to be a lifeline for The GOAT which is otherwise a goner in the rest of the domestic market as overall estimates suggest around 16 crores gross (14 crores net) collection on Monday. ## After the first Monday, the total domestic collection of The GOAT is around 177 crores gross (151 crores net), per estimates. Chennai, September 9 - One of the biggest Tamil films of the year, Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a fantastic first-weekend collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu and overseas box office, however, the movie is not performing in other parts of the country. ## Other than Tamil Nadu, The GOAT has heavily underperformed in other states of India, especially in Telugu and Hindi states where it has grossed just around 23 crores of gross collection. The performance of the movie in Telugu states is shockingly poor as Thalapathy Vijay's previous few films did well there. ## While the audience outside Tamil Nadu is not loving the movie, director Venkat Prabhu has made a weird excuse for the film's failure in Telugu and Hindi. During a recent interaction, the filmmaker stated that due to the references to the IPL cricket team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the movie, it is not working in Telugu and Hindi. ## The rivalry of CSK with Sunriseres Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which has massive fan-following nationwide, is well known, and director Venkat Prabhu feels that because he supports CSK, the audience of Telugu and Tamil are staying away from watching the movie. ## This is a funny excuse by a seasoned filmmaker as the movie, unfortunately, is not resonating with audiences. However, The GOAT is performing excellently in the home state, Tamil Nadu where it grossed approximately 106 crores in the 4-day opening weekend while the rest of the domestic gross was 55 crores. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has become the 8th movie of the actor to cross 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu after the excellent 4-day first weekend. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 106 crores gross in the state. It opened to a huge 29.50 crores gross in TN upon its Thursday release, followed by a fantastic hold on Friday with approximately 21.50 crores, while Saturday and Sunday collections were 27 and 28 crores gross, respectively. ## As said, it is Thalapathy Vijay's 8th 100 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Mersel (2017) was the first film of Thalapathy to breach this milestone. After Mersel, the Leo star has done 7 films (Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Beast, Varisu, Leo, and The GOAT) and all of them went to the top 100 crores gross in the state. ## Vijay is the undisputed king of the Tamil Nadu box office and has delivered every time irrespective of the reviews. At the worldwide box office, the movie has grossed approximately 281 crores, including 161 crores in India and 120 crores overseas in the first weekend. Mumbai, September 9 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is doing the biggest film of his career in the form of director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana. The movie also stars superstar Yash along with Sai Pallavi, and Sunny Deol, among many others. ## It is known to everyone that Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram, and now, according to the latest report by Peeping.com, the Brahmastra star will be donning a double role in the film. Apart from playing Lord Ram, Ranbir will also play Maharishi Parashuram. ## It is said that Ranbir's dual role aligns with the fact that both Ram and Parashuram are avatars of Lord Vishnu. The actor will reportedly have a completely distinct and unrecognizable look as Parashuram who holds a brief but significant importance in the epic.## The report also states that the legendary Amitabh Bachchan has also joined the ensemble cast of Ramayana. Big B will reportedly lend his voice to the divine bird Jatayu, who loses his wings and life during a confrontation with Ravana while attempting to rescue Goddess Sita during her abduction.## The 2-part epic is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in partnership with Yash's Monster Mind Creations with a budget of $100 million. Mumbai, September 9 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1 is heading for a massive start at the North American box office. Ahead of the trailer launch on September 10, the film's pre-sales are already nearing $1 million in NA. ## According to Venky Box Office, Devara has sold approximately 26K tickets worth $778K for the USA premiere. The total North American pre-sales are approximately $830K with 18 days still left for the premiere which is on September 26. The advance sales are expected to jump further after the trailer release.## Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara is anticipated to score the biggest premiere for an Indian movie in North America. Currently, Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has the highest premiere day with $3.5 million and the current trend indicates Devara has a chance to beat this figure. ## Jr. NTR's popularity is at an all-time high post the mega-blockbuster success of RRR which scored $3.3 gross collection in North America premiere in March 2022, and it went on to gross over $15 million there. If Devara gets a positive reception, it might repeat those numbers in NA. ## Devara is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, and it also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor (in their Telugu debut), with Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko and Narain in supporting roles. The movie, produced by Ekta Kapoor and Akshay, has been titled Bhooth Bangla.## The film's official announcement came on Akshay Kumar's birthday on September 9. The makers unveiled the movie's title with the first-look poster which features Akshay Kumar drinking milk in a cup with a black cat on his shoulders. Mumbai, September 8 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's mega-blockbuster Stree 2 continues to run riot at the box office even in its 4th week. The lack of strong competition is proving to be a one-horse race for this horror-comedy sequel.## After crossing 500 crores net in 3 weeks (22 days), Stree 2 carried the momentum to score the biggest 4th weekend in Hindi after minting 23.50+ crores net collection. The movie crossed the double-digit mark again on Sunday, which took its total collection to around 527 crores net in 25 days.## After the 4th weekend, Stree 2 has become the second-highest net-grossing film of all time in Hindi, beating Gadar 2 (525.70 crores) and Pathaan (524.50 crores). This is by far the biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024 and one of the biggest of all time. ## The Venkat Prabhu's directorial is showing a fantastic hold everywhere, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu, and the overseas territories. The first Sunday domestic collection of The GOAT remained flat, but still huge by every means with an estimated 40 crores gross (34 crores net) in all versions.## The total domestic collection of The GOAT is around 161 crores gross (137 crores net), per estimates. In Tamil Nadu, the movie remained rock solid and has crossed 100 crores gross in just 4 days. Per estimates, the movie is expected to score 27-28 crores gross on Sunday, for 105+ crores in 4 days in the state. ## The opening weekend collection of The GOAT was solely shouldered by the stardom of Thalapathy Vijay and the real test for the movie will be on Monday as the word of mouth is mixed. Chennai, September 8 - Thalapthy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a sensational third at the worldwide box office. The movie, despite the mixed reviews, is being massively driven by the stardom of Vijay at the box office. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 66 crores gross globally, including 39 crores in India on its third day/first Saturday. With this, the total worldwide collection of the movie is 221+ crores gross after three days which is the highest for a Tamil movie of 2024. ## The GOAT, however, became the biggest Tamil grosser of the year on its second day itself after beating Dhanush-fronted action thriller Raayan which grossed approximately 154 crores worldwide.
