Mumbai, August 29 - Director Om Raut has finally opened up on Adipurush, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas. It was one of the most-hyped Indian movies in recent times but ended up as a major disappointment on every front.## The movie got trolled for the cringe characterization of the figures of the epic Ramayana and was largely a box office misfire despite the huge initial collections that were pulled through the factor of Ramayana and Prabhas' mega-stardom.## Made on a massive budget of 500 crores, Adipurush grossed around 400 crores at the worldwide box office and was termed a big flop, especially in the Telugu version. However, unlike the public opinion on the film's box office numbers, Om Raut seems to be happy with its performance. ## During a recent interview with a Marathi media, Om Raut called out the trollers and said that they don't need to bother too much about this faceless army on social media. He went on to say, "At the end of the day, what matters for the movie is the box office. And, Adipurush did very well at the box office". The filmmaker also said that superstars like Prabhas and Salman Khan as 'flop-proof' stars who can pull off any film. ## Adipurush is based on the epic Ramayana where Prabhas played the role of Lord Rama alongside Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan. Mumbai, August 29 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 has crossed the 500 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the 12th movie ever and only the second of the year to achieve the milestone. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror-comedy surpassed the 500 crores gross collection in India on its 14th day, becoming one of the fastest to hit the milestone. It is the first Bollywood movie since Ranbir Kapoor's Animal in December 2023, and 6th overall to reach this magical figure. ## As said, Stree 2 is the first film of the entire main cast and crew, including Shraddha and Rajkummar as well as the director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films to enter the 500 crores gross club in India. ## Check out the full list of the 500 crores grossers at the Indian box office -## 1. Chennai, August 28 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time is all set to take a very good opening at the overseas box office. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the movie is scheduled to be released on September 5, with premieres taking place on September 4th.## The overseas pre-sales of The GOAT have crossed $1 million for the opening day, including premieres. In the USA, the premiere advance sales of the movie are around $300K with 7 days still left. The trade is expecting a $5+ million overseas opening of the film. The total pre-sales for the opening day is $1.2+ million (10+ crores). ## Thalapathy Vijay's film generally takes a strong start at the box office, be it domestic or overseas. His last movie, Leo stormed the box office with approximately 143 crores worldwide opening which is the biggest ever for a Tamil movie. This included 66+ crores overseas start. ## The GOAT is certain to score the biggest Tamil opening of 2024 and if the pre-sales trend remains strong, it might be the back-to-back to 100 crores opener for the actor after Leo. Mumbai, August 28 - Other than the Spy Universe, if there is one film, backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, which has been in huge demand is the action thriller Dhoom. The last film in this blockbuster franchise was Aamir Khan-led Dhoom 3, released in 2013.## Over the years since the third instalment, there have been social media trends time and again regarding the 4th instalment of the franchise. Interestingly Dhoom 4 was officially confirmed by the studio shortly after the release of the Dhoom 3. Still, for some reasons known to only YRF, the film's production never took place. ## As said, the chatter around Dhoom 4 has once again started gaining momentum and as per multiple reports, there is indeed something happening around the movie at YRF. Now, according to the report in Bollywood Hungama, YRF is preceding the early development of Dhoom 4 and is looking at director Ayan Mukerji as a potential name to helm it. ## Ayan Mukerji is currently directing YRF's Spy action thriller, War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. It is said that producer Aditya Chopra is happy with the footage shot for War 2 and has verbally discussed his intent to make Dhoom 4 with Ayan Mukerji. ## The report further states that Ayan has sought some time to think as he also has the next films in the Brahmastra franchise. Mumbai, August 28 - One of the most-anticipated Hollywood movies Folie à Deux has been moved up by Warner Bros India. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix in the title role of Arthur Fleck/The Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. ## Directed by Todd Phillips, the musical psychological thriller will be hitting Indian cinemas on October 2nd, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Mumbai, August 28 - Comedian Kapil Sharma made his acting debut with Abbas-Mustan's comedy film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015 and the movie turned out to be a box office hit with over 70 crore gross collection worldwide.## Now, 9 years later, the sequel to KKPK is in development with Kapil Sharma returning to headline this comic caper, according to the report by Pinkvilla. It is said that Kapil has signed the dotted lines and is excited for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karron 2 which is expected to begin shooting by the end of this year.## Abbas-Mustan, who directed the first film, will be supervising this time around while Anukalp Goswami, who was one of the key writers of the first part, will be directing the sequel written by him. The film is being produced by Ratan Jain under the banner Venus Records & Tapes.## KKPK film featured multiple actresses opposite Kapil Sharma and the report says that the sequel will also have multiple actresses for whom the casting is underway. Mumbai, August 28 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par has reportedly been postponed for Christmas 2024 release due to a delay in the post-production work. The movie is directed by Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame R.S. Prasanna. ## Aamir will be returning to the big screen after more than two years after the debacle box office performance of the comedy-drama Lal Singh Chaddha (2022). It was the first major box office misfire for the actor in a long time which forced him to take a short break. ## Produced by Aamir Khan under his banner Aamir Khan Productions with Jio Studios, Sitaare Zameen Par was officially announced to be released on Christmas 2024, however, according to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, the movie will not be able to achieve its post-production timeline. ## While the official announcement regarding the postponement is yet to be made, the report says it is unlikely to be released on its originally announced Christmas date. It is said that Aamir is happy with the way the film is shaping up but the post-production requires more time to achieve 100% satisfactory output.## Interestingly, Jio Studios has already scheduled Varun Dhawan's action thriller Baby John for Christmas 2024 release which more or less confirmed the postponement of Sitaare Zameen Par which is likely to be released in March/April 2025.## Sitaare Zameen Par is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Spanish film Campeones, which tells the story of an arrogant and self-centred basketball coach. Mumbai, August 28 - After the blockbuster performance at the box office, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version debuted with good viewership on Netflix. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie started streaming on August 22, after 8 weeks of theatrical run. ## In its 4-day opening weekend, Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version scored 4.5 million views, which is more than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's first 4-day viewership of 2.9 million but behind Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (5.9 million) and Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki (4.9 million).## Kalki was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide during the week of August 19 - August 25 on Netflix. It has been trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Outside Asia, the movie is trending in Mauritius and Nigeria. ## Earlier, the Hindi version of Kalki had a strong box office performance with over 400 crores in gross collection worldwide. In India, the movie scored approximately 293 crores in net collection (350 crores gross), which is the second highest of 2024 in the Hindi version. ## In all versions, the movie grossed over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, including an estimated 765+ crores gross domestically. Hyderabad, August 28 - Natural star Nani's much-awaited action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is all set to hit the big screens on August 28. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film managed to generate a good buzz, thanks to the teaser/trailer and other promotional activities.## Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is easily one of the most-anticipated tier 2 Telugu hero movies and this led to very good worldwide theatrical business for the film. According to the report by T2BLive, the movie managed to score the second highest business for a Nani-starrer after hit Dasara. ## In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Saripodhaa Sanivaaram's theatrical business is approximately 30 crores, including 12.50 crores for the Nizam area and 5 crores for Ceeded while Andhra region business is around 12.50 crores. ## Apart from AP/TG, the movie's rest of India business has been valued at approximately 5 crores while overseas theatrical rights are at 6 crores, making it a 41 crores worldwide business of the movie with a break-even target of 42 crores. Chennai, August 27 - Thalapathy Vijay's most-awaited action thriller The Greatest of All-Time is set to be one of the longest Tamil films with over 3 hours of theatrical runtime. The movie, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is scheduled to be released on September 5 in multiple languages. ## The GOAT was recently censored with the UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with the runtime approved under 3 hours. However, due to some reasons, the makers sent the movie for re-censorship which resulted in longer than its original runtime. ## While the movie retained its UA certificate, the theatrical runtime is now 3 hours and 3 minutes (183 minutes). Mumbai, August 27 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-Fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 is heading towards the 500 crores net club which will make it only the 6th movie ever to do so in Hindi. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, is by far the biggest Indian blockbuster of the year and one of the biggest of all time. ## Stree 2 was released on August 15, the same week Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2 debuted on the big screen last year (August 11). Just like the latest blockbuster, the Gadar sequel also turned out one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever by earning over 500 crores in net collection and close to 700 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Interestingly, there isn't much difference between the domestic collection of Stree 2 and Gadar 2 in the first 12 days with the Shraddha Kapoor-starrer having a slight edge. Kochi, August 27 - Amid the sexual harassment allegations, the Malayalam superstar has regained as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Along with him, all the members of the executive committee submitted their joint resignation. ## "AMMA has decided to disperse the executive committee on moral grounds in the light of allegations made by some actors against some of the committee members. A new committee will be formed after an election within two months", the statement read.## Actors Jagadish, Jayan Cherthala, Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Joy Mathew, Suresh Krishna, Ananya, Vinu Mohan, Tovino Thomas, Sarayu, Ansiba, Jomol and Tini Tom were part of the committee, which has now been dissolved.## The decision comes after the recent shocking allegations in the explosive findings of the Justice K Hema Committee's report which found harassment and abuse of women professionals, leading to two high-profile resignations over allegations.## What Is Hema Committee Report?## The Malayalam film industry has been taken by storm after the serious allegations in the report of the Hema Committee which was formed In 2017 after a Malayalam actress was sexually assaulted following which the government formed a three-member commission.
