Hyderabad, August 12 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's Murari has become the record Telugu re-release grosser after the excellent opening weekend at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Krishna Vamsi, Murari was re-released on August 9 on Mahesh Babu's 49th birthday and it scored approximately 5.25 crores worldwide on its opening day. The movie remained solid on Saturday to score another approximately 1.85 crores gross. ## On Sunday, the collection further dropped but it was solid with approximately 90 lakh which took its total re-release worldwide cume to 8 crores gross. In India, it has minted approximately 7.30 crores while overseas collection is 70 lakh.## As said, Murari's re-release collection of 8 crores is now the highest for any Telugu re-release title, surpassing Pawan Kalyan's Kushi which scored around 7.50 crores worldwide. It is heading towards finishing in the double-digit collection which is an excellent result.## Murari features Mahesh Babu in the title role along with Sonali Bendre in her Telugu debut, Lakshmi, Sukumari, Kaikala Satyanarayana, and Gollapudi Maruthi Rao in the key roles. Mumbai, August 12 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has returned to reprise his voice role as Mufasa in Disney's upcoming blockbuster Mufasa: The Lion King, a photorealistic animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King.## Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, his eldest son Aryan Khan is also back to reprise the voice role of Simba while the youngest Khan, AbRam, will make his voice-acting debut as young Mufasa in the Hindi dubbed version. ## The movie is directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King story follows the orphan Mufasa, who is befriended by the young prince Taka and adopted by Taka's family; the pair become as close as brothers. Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog add colour commentary. ## Disney announced the voiceover re-casting of Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan with the new addition of AbRam in the official Hindi trailer of the movie. Mumbai, August 12 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has officially confirmed that King is his next. Though it was already known to everyone, the superstar made it official during a recent interaction at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, where he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award. King will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and it will also star SRK's daughter Suhana Khan in her big-screen debut. Talking about the movie, the Pathaan star said, "The next film that I am doing is King. I have to start working on it, lose some weight, stretch a little so my groin doesn't get caught while I am doing action". To be produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand's Marflix, King is said to be one of its one-of-a-kind action thrillers in which King Khan is reportedly playing the role of Don. The actor said that he wanted to do this kind of film for many years and finally has the script for the same. "There's a certain kind of film I want to do, where, maybe, it is more age-centric, and I want to try something. For 6-7 years, I have been thinking about it. I mentioned it to Sujoy one day, and he said, 'Sir, I have a subject," he added. King will start rolling by the end of this year, and it will be released in the second half of 2025. Mumbai, August 12 - Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Majnu was recently re-released amid the growing trend and to everyone's surprise, the movie has been doing fantastically at the box office unlike its original run back in 2018.## The Ekta Kapoor-produced heartbreaking tale of romance went unnoticed when it was first released in 2018 and grossed just a little over 3 crores at the Indian box office. However, the film's popularity grew over the years and it found appreciation among the audiences, thanks to television and OTT platforms.## In the 3-day opening weekend of its re-release, Laila Majnu grossed approximately 2.15 crores which is higher than the first weekend of its original run. The movie started with approximately 25 lakh net collection before jumping by 200% on Saturday to 75 lakh net. On Sunday, the movie crossed the 1 crore gross mark, to around 1.15 crores. ## This is the first instance in recent times that a Bollywood re-release has touched the 1 crore mark in a single day at the domestic box office. It will be interesting to see how the movie trends during the weekdays, also it is running out of time in its pursuit to top its original run as there are multiple big releases scheduled from August 15. ## The movie, however, can take inspiration from Ranbir Kapoor's recently re-released Rockstar which grossed over 10 crores in India. Mumbai, August 11 - Marvel Studios returns to the billion-dollar club after the superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine crossed this coveted box office mark on its third Sunday at the worldwide box office, becoming only the second movie of 2024 to achieve the feat.## The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted blockbuster has grossed $1.03 billion (8645 crores) at the worldwide box office through the third weekend. In North America, the movie has minted $494.3 million (4150 crores) while the overseas collection is $535.2 million (4495 crores) over 52 markets.## Notably, Deadpool & Wolverine is only the second movie of 2024 after Inside Out 2 to top $1 billion globally. IO2 is currently the biggest grosser with $1.59 billion as the 10th highest-grossing movie of all time, behind The Lion King ($1.65 billion).## Deadpool 3 has broken into the top 50 movies ever and is currently the 48th highest-grossing title. In another amazing feat, it will soon top Joker ($1.07 billion) to become the highest-grossing R-rated title of all time. These two are the only R-rated movies to reach a billion dollar mark.## As said, the third Deadpool instalment is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) title since Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.92 billion) in 2021 and the first Dinsey-backed MCU movie since 2019's Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion) to top $1 billion at the global box office.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 11 - Very few critically acclaimed films get a second life to succeed at the box office after failing on the first occasion. Avinash Tiwary and the new Bollywood sensation Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Manju can be one of those few films. ## Released in 2018, Sajid Ali's directorial largely went unnoticed in its original run with a domestic collection of approximately 3.25 crores gross despite getting critical acclaim. It was re-released a couple of days back amid the growing popularity of the re-release of classic films, and to everyone's surprise, the movie is doing well.## After playing with a couple of shows for over a week since August 2, Laila Majnu grossed approximately 25 lakh on the first day of its proper re-release (August 9, Friday). As the word of mouth grew, the movie witnessed a 200% jump on Saturday to gross approximately 75 lakh collection.## Laila Majnu has topped a 1 crore gross collection in the first 2 days of its re-release which is an excellent figure. Sunday is expected to be the biggest so far for the movie as it is eyeing 2 crores gross collection in the opening weekend. ## Considering the trend, Laila Majnu would have easily topped the final gross collection of the film's original run but the time might be running out for it as it won't get much showcasing once the arrival of the hugely-awaited Stree 2 along with Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa on August 15. ## The movie, however, can take inspiration from Ranbir Kapoor's recently re-released Rockstar which grossed over 10 crores in India. Hyderabad, August 11 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's 2001 romantic drama thriller film Murari was re-released on August 9 and scored one of the biggest openings for a Telugu re-release title. ## Directed by Krishna Vamsi, Murari grossed approximately 4.75 crores in India and 5.25 crores worldwide on its first day of re-release, and continuing this momentum, the movie remained rock solid on its second day as well. ## On its second day (Saturday), the movie minted approximately 1.75 crores gross collection at the domestic box office. This takes the movie's total domestic collection to approximately 6.50 crores, and including 60 lakh overseas gross, the movie has scored 7.10 crores worldwide in the 2 days of its re-release.## Among the recent Telugu re-release films, Murari is already the second-biggest-grosser, as per the Telugu box office portal T2BLive. Mumbai, August 10 - As expected, the pre-sales of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 have taken a very good start in India and have already crossed the final opening day booking of some of the recent movies featuring bankable stars.## Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, is easily the biggest Bollywood movie of the month which Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa are also releasing. Ever since the movie was announced, anticipation has been on the rise which is evident in the advance booking.## As of 5 PM on August 10, Stree 2 has sold approximately 50K tickets worth 1.75 crore (without block seats) for the opening day (not including previews). With still more than 3 days left for the regular release on August 15, Stree 2 has already crossed the final opening day booking gross of Akshay Kumar's Sarfira (50 lakh approx.) and Ajay Devgn's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha (70 lakh approx.).## These are still early days but the trend of Stree 2 pre-sales indicates a sure shot opening of 20+ crores net of the movie and has a very good shot at taking the biggest start of the year in Hindi by beating Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD which opened at 22.50 crores net each.## Apart from having the biggest advantage of being a sequel to a blockbuster movie, everything has worked for Stree 2 so far from the teaser and trailer to songs which are going viral and ruling social media charts which gives the movie a massive advantage over other movies releasing on the same day.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 10 - The first teaser of Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is reportedly ready to release soon. It was recently revealed that the makers are set to launch a special teaser of the movie with the confirmation of the Diwali release.## A few days back, it was revealed that a 1-minute 32-second teaser of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, it will be out digitally on August 13 before getting screened on the big screen globally.## The makers have reportedly struck a deal with cinema owners all across the globe for the teaser of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which will be screened with all three Independence Day 2024 Bollywood releases – Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa from August 15.## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is produced by T-Series and the studio is gearing up for an extensive promotion campaign. The idea of screening the teaser on the big screen is a way to give a wide reach to the movie which is easily one of the most-anticipated Bollywood titles of the year. ## The movie is directed by Anees Bazmee who also directed its predecessor in 2022. Kartik Aaryan returns to reprise the role of Rooh Baba.
