Mumbai, July 23 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted epic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD is the most popular Indian movie of 2024 so far, as per IMDb. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, in prominent roles.## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic recently became the 7th Indian movie of all time and the first of 2024 to cross 1000 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. Released on June 27, it has so far grossed an estimated 1005 crores, including 735 crores in India. ## The second most popular Indian title is the all-time Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys. Directed by Chidambaram, it was released on February 22 and went on to become the first Malayalam film ever to top 200 crores at the worldwide box office and is currently the highest-grossing Mollywood title with 241 crores gross.## Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's aerial action thriller, Fighter takes the third spot in the most popular Indian movies list of 2024. Siddharth Anand's directorial is currently the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year with a worldwide gross collection of 350+ crores.## One of the biggest box office blockbusters of the year with a worldwide collection of close to 300 crores gross, director Prasanth Varma's superhero movie, Hanuman is the 4th most popular Indian title, followed by Ajay Devgn's horror-thriller, Shaitaan as 5th in the list. Mumbai, July 23 - The mega box office clash on Independence Day 2024 has officially been confirmed after Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein re-confirmed its release date with the first look motion poster on July 23, Tuesday. Chennai, July 23 - Director Karthik Subbaraj teamed up with Tamil star Suriya for an action drama film and on the occasion of the actor's 49th birthday, the filmmaker treated the fans with the first look glimpse into the character of Suriya from the film, tentatively called Suriya 44. ## The glimpse video shared on social media platforms, opens with a beautiful view with the words, "Somewhere in the sea..." before the video takes us to 'Royal Estate', presumably Suriya's den in the film where his gang members stand at the entrance... Mumbai, July 22 - After the opening weekend of nearly 30 crores net, Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk's comedy-drama Bad Newz sees a drop of over 60% on its first Monday which is a little higher than expected.## According to the early estimates, the Anand Tiwari's directorial scored in the range of 3.50 crores net collection on its 4th day, pushing the total collection to over 33 crores net. The drop from opening day is over 50% which was needed to be under 50% to be called a decent hold. ## Bad Newz is heavily dependent on multiple audiences as mass centres are not showing much interest which was expected given the theme of the film. Given the fact that Bad Newz is performing fairly well among its target audience, the first Monday hold can be seen as a respectable one. ## The movie needs to perform to the level of Monday's collection throughout the week as first full week is headed to finish around 41 crores net. There will be a huge challenge for Bad Newz in the second weekend due to the arrival of Deadpool and Wolverine so it will be interesting to see how it performs thereafter. ## Stay tuned...

It is the 5th biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood title and 6th in Hindi in 2024. ## Bad Newz opened to the good collection with approximately 8.30 crores net, followed by a jump of over 20% on Saturday for 10.25 crores, and on Sunday, it collected approximately 11.15 crores net with a jump of around 8%.
