Mumbai, July 13 - Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree 2 is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and recently released teaser further boosts the hype ahead of the film's release on August 15 on the occasion of the Independence Day. ## As the release date is getting nearer, the makers are now gearing up for the trailer of the movie. As per the latest reports, the much-awaited trailer of Stree 2 will be launched on July 18, Thursday, 4 weeks before the film's official release.## The trailer of the movie will be attached with the prints of Dharma Productions' Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, in theatres from August 19. Meanwhile, the teaser of the movie was first launched on the big screen before it was made available online.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is a sequel to Stree (2018) and is the fifth instalment in the Maddock Films horror-comedy universe. Mumbai, July 13 - Kalki 2898 AD has topped 3 crores footfalls at the Indian box office in 16 days and becomes the first film of 2024 the achieve the feat. It is also the first movie of the year to hit 2 crores footfalls, beating superhero movie, Hanuman. ## Starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD has generated an estimated 3.01 crore footfalls, which includes 1.34 crores for the original Telugu version (highest since RRR), 1.24 crores in Hindi (highest in 2024), and approximately 43 lakh in other versions. ## Kalki 2898 AD is the first film since Ranbir Kapoor's action thriller Animal in December 2023 to sell 3 crores or more tickets at the domestic box office. Mumbai, July 13 - Actor Sanjay Dutt has officially confirmed on board comedy entertainer Housefull 5. He will star alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan in the prominent role in the film, to be directed by Dostana fame Tarun Mansukhani. ## Sanjay Dutt is the newest member to join the Housefull franchise and it marks the reunion of Akshay, Riteish, and Abhishek after Housefull 3 (2016), directed by Sajid-Farhad. The 5th instalment of the blockbuster franchise by producer Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandon Entertainment is one of the costliest Indian films with a budget of over 300 crores.## Housefull 5 will start shooting in August and entirely be filmed on a cruise ship in the UK. Mumbai, July 12 - Akshay Kumar's drama film Sarfira takes a low start at the box office with poor occupancy throughout the day. The movie was expected to see some boost due to the positive reviews which don't seem happening as it opens in the range of Selfiee. ## Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, has had pre-sales between Akshay Kumar's previous two low starters, Selfiee and Mission Raniganj which indicated a low start which turns out to be true as it scored an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores net opening day. ## The movie was always going to open in a similar range due to its remake status which has struggled in the post-COVID era, and its subject which doesn't have mass appeal. The initial word of mouth, however, seems to be positive which can come into play over the weekend but it will be hard for it to make up for the very low opening. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) also has a poor start which was expected due to negligible pre-sales. As per the early estimates, the movie is expected to open in the range of 1.25 crores net collection which might vary on either side when the actuals come. ## Indian 2, however, has a much better showing in all versions on its opening day as it is expected to score an estimated 25-26 crores net (30-31 crores gross) collection. The movie has opened on the expected lines with a slightly lower of the optimistic projections. ## In Tamil Nadu, it is expected to gross in the range of 13+ crores, followed by 9-10 crores in Telugu states which is a good collection. The rest of India gross of the movie is estimated to be around 8 crores, including around 4 crores in Karnataka. The word of mouth for Indian 2 seems to be mixed to negative which is likely to effect its biz in the coming days.## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, July 12 - The blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas has created another record after the Telugu version of the movie became the highest-grossing ever at the North American box office. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the original Telugu version of Kalki has crossed $12 million (100+ crores) which is an all-time record for the Telugu language in NA, according to Venky Box Office. Overall, the sci-fi epic has topped $17 million (142 crores) for all versions there.## Kalki 2898 AD is likely to cross Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan ($17.45 million) this weekend to become the second highest-grossing Indian film in North America, behind only Prabhas' own film, Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion ($22 million). With legs slowing down, Kalki is expected to finish below BB2 as the second biggest. ## Earlier, Kalki 2898 AD scored the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie in North America and also became the fastest to top $10 million and $15 million there. Hyderabad, July 12 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has had a good second weekend at the domestic box office, grossing an estimated 152 crores, which brings its total collection to an estimated 646+ crores gross in all versions in 15 days. ## After the original Telugu version leading in the first week, it was the Hindi version of the sci-fi epic which drove the biz in the second week as it grossed an estimated 83+ crores gross (70.50 crores net approx.), pushing the total Hindi collection to approximately 277+ crores gross (233 crores net approx.). ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is only the 8th movie ever to top 600 crores gross collection in India and it is currently the 7th biggest. It will top Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (657.50 crores gross approx.) and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (660 crores gross approx.) by tomorrow (third Saturday) to become 5th biggest grosser in India. ## Overseas, the epic blockbuster has grossed an estimated 235 crores, for worldwide approximately 881+ crores gross after 15 days. The movie will top 900 crores worldwide gross by the third Saturday and will become only the 10th Indian movie of all time to achieve the feat.## The magical milestone of 1000 crores worldwide gross of Kalki 2898 AD could be missed due to the arrival of new movies and with legs dropping, however, a steady run could still take it close to the mark and if it manages to score better than expected hold in the coming days, it might touch the milestone which remains to be seen.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 12 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Munjya has become the third Bollywood movie of 2024 to top 100 crores net collection after Fighter and Shaitaan. The Aditya Sarpotdar's directorial achieved the feat in its 5th week of the box office run.## Part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjya minted approximately 3 crores net collection in its 5th week, which took its total collection over 100 crores net. It is the 121st film to enter the 100 crores net club in the Hindi language.## Munjya is the fourth movie of the year to hit the 100 crores net mark in Hindi, which also includes Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which is currently the biggest Hindi grosser of the year at the domestic box office with over 232 crores net collection. ## Starring Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma in the leading roles, Munjya is the maiden 100-crore net movie for the duo as well as for director Aditya Sarpotdar. Chennai, July 12 - One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan finally hits the big screen on July 12 after going through many delays and postponements due to unavoidable circumstances over the last few years. ## Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is the sequel to his 1996 vigilante action thriller with Haasan, and as known to everyone, the sequel has been split into two parts. While Indian 2 has been released, Lyca Productions has also confirmed the release date of Indian 3.## As per the industry insiders, the production house has confirmed to the exhibitors that Indian 3 will be released in January 2025. Hyderabad, July 12 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has teamed up with director Buchi Babu Sana for a rural sports drama film, tentatively called RC 16. It marks the duo's maiden collaboration and only the second directorial venture for Buchi Babu after the blockbuster Uppena (2021). ## RC16 will feature Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, making it her second Telugu movie after the upcoming Devara with Jr. NTR. Now, the makers have confirmed veteran Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar on board to play a pivotal role in the film. ## The official announcement of the casting of Shiva Rajkumar was made on his 62nd birthday on July 12 with the first look poster. Mythri Movie Makers will produce RC 16 with Vriddhi Cinemas, and Sukumar Writings.
