Hyderabad, June 12 - Telugu superstar turned politician, Pawan Kalyan scored a historic win as Jana Sena party chief in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections where his party was in the NDA alliance which secured the win on 164 out of 175 seats.## On Wednesday (June 12), Pawan Kalyan took oath as one of Andhra Pradesh's cabinet ministers as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu will hold the Chief Ministerial post. As per reports, Pawan Kalyan will be the deputy chief minister of the state. ## Kalyan was elected from the Pithapuram assembly constituency in the East Godavari district while his party won 21 out of 21 seats in the Assembly elections along with both seats it contested for Lok Sabha elections with a 100% strike rate. ## Pawan Kalyan founded a political party named Jana Sena Party on 14 March 2014 and he finally broke through the state's assembly a decade later as one of the most powerful leaders of the Andhra politics. ## Meanwhile, apart from politics, PK is also active in cinema as he has multiple films in the pipeline. Hyderabad, June 12 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR is announced for October 10, 2024, release on the occasion of Dushera. Several other films are also eyeing this festival spot, including superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan and now, there is a twist in Devara release plans. ## According to the Telugu media reports, the makers are planning to prepone the release of Devara on September 27. At a time when filmmakers are not willing to take risks and are betting on big-budget films to revive the box office, the studio is delivering success after success with relatively smaller titles. ## Maddock has delivered 4 successes out of its last 5 theatrical releases with an excellent strike rate of 80%. Mumbai, June 10 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Munjya sees an excellent collection on its first Monday, dropping around just 10% from Friday which is nothing short of a miraculous hold. There is an outside chance of Monday collection coming on par with the opening day. ## According to the early estimates, the latest entry in the horror-comedy universe scores 3.50-4 crores net collection, pushing the total to around 23 crores in 4 days. The drop from Sunday collection of 8 crores net is around 50% which is also fantastic, to say the least. ## Munjya is heading towards 31-33 crores net opening week which is outstanding and will aim to reach 50 crores net in the second week though it will have competition with Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion which is the first major release after gap. ## The movie emerged as a surprise hit as there were hardly any expectations for it to deliver at the box office before the trailer did some trick, plus, the affordable ticket prices also played a role in bringing the audience to theatres. Chennai, June 10 - Sun Pictures has postponed the release of Tamil star Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan by a month to July 2024. Dhanush is also playing the leading role in the movie alongside Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, S. J. Chennai, June 10 - Tamil action thriller Garudan has had an impressive second weekend at the domestic box office with approximately 9.25 crores gross collection, pushing the total collection to 36.25 crores gross in 10 days. It is the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 domestically. ## Starring Soori in the leading role, Garudan has minted approximately 6.25 crores at the overseas box office, taking the global cume to 42.50 crores, making it 4th highest-grossing Tamil title of the year, behind Aranmanai 4, Ayalaan, and Captain Miller. ## Directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar, Garudan is only the second original Tamil hit of 2024 after Aranmanai 4 which has grossed approximately 97.50 crores so far.
