Mumbai, June 10 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Munjya sees an excellent collection on its first Monday, dropping around just 10% from Friday which is nothing short of a miraculous hold. There is an outside chance of Monday collection coming on par with the opening day. ## According to the early estimates, the latest entry in the horror-comedy universe scores 3.50-4 crores net collection, pushing the total to around 23 crores in 4 days. The drop from Sunday collection of 8 crores net is around 50% which is also fantastic, to say the least. ## Munjya is heading towards 31-33 crores net opening week which is outstanding and will aim to reach 50 crores net in the second week though it will have competition with Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion which is the first major release after gap. ## The movie emerged as a surprise hit as there were hardly any expectations for it to deliver at the box office before the trailer did some trick, plus, the affordable ticket prices also played a role in bringing the audience to theatres. It could emerge as one of the major successes of the year so far, however, it will be interesting to see how it performs with the arrival of bigger films in the coming weeks. ## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, June 10 - The trailer of Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has been released amid huge anticipation. Starring Prabbas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, Kalki is the costliest Indian film ever with around 600 crores budget. ## The film is set against the backdrop of Indian mythology and a dystopian society in the city of Kasi, the last city remaining in the world as the film chronicles a journey spanning millennia from the events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC (the beginning of Kali Yuga) to 2898 AD. It revolves around the enigmatic figure of Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. ## The trailer looks fantastic and takes the audience to the new world created by director Nag Ashwin. The visuals are stunning with the top-notch VFX shots. The background score elevates the dramatic and action sequences. Chennai, June 10 - Sun Pictures has postponed the release of Tamil star Dhanush's second directorial venture Raayan by a month to July 2024. Dhanush is also playing the leading role in the movie alongside Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, S. J. Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan. ## The movie, which was previously announced to be released in June, will now be released in theatres worldwide on July 26 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Interestingly, the movie will hit the big screens during the birthday week of Dhanush as the actor will celebrate his 41st birthday on July 28, doubling the celebrations for fans.## The makers have already started the promotions as two single tracks, Adangadha Asuran, and Water Packet have increased the buzz around the movie. Chennai, June 10 - Tamil action thriller Garudan has had an impressive second weekend at the domestic box office with approximately 9.25 crores gross collection, pushing the total collection to 36.25 crores gross in 10 days. It is the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 domestically. ## Starring Soori in the leading role, Garudan has minted approximately 6.25 crores at the overseas box office, taking the global cume to 42.50 crores, making it 4th highest-grossing Tamil title of the year, behind Aranmanai 4, Ayalaan, and Captain Miller. ## Directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar, Garudan is only the second original Tamil hit of 2024 after Aranmanai 4 which has grossed approximately 97.50 crores so far. Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli was re-released recently and scored success with approximately 32 crores gross collection. ## Garudan is produced by Grass Root Film Company and Lark Studios, and it stars stars Soori, M. Mumbai, June 10 - Superstar Salman Khan team up with director AR Murugadoss for the first time for an action drama film titled Sikandar produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead with Sathyaraj as the main antagonist. ## The latest update on the film's shoot is that Sikandar will kick off on June 18 in Mumbai. Hyderabad, June 10 - Veteran Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu have reunited for a new film, tentatively titled BB4. The movie was announced on NBK's 64th birthday today with a concept poster.## BB4 marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu after Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. All three films were big blockbusters at the box office and the same is expected from their upcoming film which will be produced by 14 Reels Plus. ## The announcement poster of BB4 is full of devotional vibes with a massive chariot wheel placed on an isolated area and the numeric 4 has a Rudraksha bracelet tied to it. Mumbai, June 10 - Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has become the highest-grossing Monsterverse film ever, beating 2017's Kong Skull Island, at the worldwide box office.## Directed by Adam Wingard, Godzilla x Kong has surpassed Skull Island, which grossed $568.6 million at $570 million (4760 crores). The latest blockbuster has minted $196.3 million (1640 crores) in North America and $373.7 million (2120 crores) at the overseas box office. ## Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the highest-grossing MonsterVerse film in as many as 35 markets, including India where it has grossed 134 crores ($16 million). It is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 in India, way ahead of second-ranked Kung Fu Panda 4 which has earned around 50 crores gross. ## It is also the second-highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the worldwide box office, after Dune: Part 2 which is the number 1 with approximately $712 million. Mumbai, June 9 - Will Smith's action comedy Bad Boys: Ride or Die crushed the projection to score $100+ million opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The R-rated flick is the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys series of buddy cop films. ## Directed by Adil & Bilall, Bad Boys 4 has had a strong 3-day opening weekend domestically (North America) with $56 million (470 crores). It is the second-biggest first weekend in the franchise, behind only Bad Boys For Life which opened at $62.5 million in 2020.## Overseas, the movie grossed a solid $48.6 million (405 crores) over 60 markets, pushing worldwide opening weekend to $104.6 million (875 crores). It is the biggest debut in the franchise, Bad Boys For Life ($97.8 million). The movie was projected to earn $70 million - $80 million before release. ## Made on a budget of $100 million, Bad Boys 4 received an A- CinemaScore. Mumbai, June 9 - Director Subhash Kapoor's courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB 3 starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies and the makers are bringing the other actors from the previous two films to headline the third instalment. ## A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that Huma Qureshi, who was a part of Jolly LLB 2 with Akshay Kumar, returned to reprise her role as Pushpa Mishra and now, actress Amrita Rao has also come on board to play her part in the film. ## Amrita Rao played the female lead in the first movie opposite Arshad Warsi and now she will be reprising her role as Sandhya. According to Hindustan Times, "Amrita is returning as Arshad's wife in Jolly LLB 3, continuing their story from the first part. Mumbai, June 8 - Maddock Films' production, Munjya is proving all the projections wrong with excellent trends at the box office. The movie opened above expectations on the opening day with approximately 4 crores net and is showing over 60% jump on the second day. ## It was anticipated that the growth on the second would be there but it wouldn't be big due to the lower ticket prices. However, the movie proved all calculations wrong to score an estimated 6.50-7 crores net collection on the first Saturday. ## The total collection of the film is around 10.50+ crores net in two days as the opening weekend is looking to be around 18-20 crores net which is way above the pre-release projections. It will be interesting to see if the movie could touch 20 crores net this weekend as there is the cricket world Cup match of India against Pakistan which may impact the night shows. ## The hold on Monday will be crucial for the film though it is in a fantastic position to score well beyond the weekend as it has found acceptance among its target audiences.
