Hyderabad, April 17 - Telugu cinema is gearing up for a blockbuster second half of 2024 at the box office with several Pan India as well as other much-awaited films lined up for the release. Besides tier-1 heroes' films, Christmas 2024 is setting up to see a three-way clash between two Tollywood films and a Hollywood blockbuster. ## Earlier in the day (April 17), it was officially announced that Nithiin's adventures entertainer Nithiin with director Venky Kudumula would be hitting worldwide theatres on December 20 this year. This movie marks the actor-director duo's reunion after the super hit Bheeshma (2020) which was Kudumula's last directorial. ## Now, as per the latest Telugu media reports, Naga Chaitanya's much-awaited romantic action thriller Thandel, directed by Karthikeya 2 fame Chandoo Mondeti, is also confirmed to hit the big screens on December 20, locking in for the direct box office clash with Nithiin-starrer. ## Apart from the aforementioned two films, Hollywood biggie Mufasa: The Lion King, a prequel to 2019's The Lion King, is already placed for December 20. Hyderabad, April 17 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's action drama film Devara: Part 1 is super hot in the trade. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie is anticipated to be a big money spinner for the makers, hence, the makers are attempting to lock in the best theatrical deals for the same. ## It was recently revealed Anil Thadani's AA Films and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions have grabbed the North India theatrical distribution rights of the film for a handsome 50 crores. According to the latest Telugu media reports, the makers are also in the process of locking a deal for Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). ## It is said that Suryadevara Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainment is the frontrunner to acquire AP/TG theatrical rights and has offered 120+ crores for the same. Some reports have claimed the deal has been locked and the official announcement is around the corner. ## Devara will be released in two parts with the first part scheduled to be released on October 10, 2024, in multiple Indian languages. Mumbai, April 17 - Anil Thadani's AA Films is set for theatrical distribution domination with 4 massively-awaited Pan India movies in the Hindi market. The studio has had huge success in the past with the Hindi release of South Indian films and Anil Thadani is confident that the upcoming films will also create history at the box office. ## Among the upcoming Pan India movies, superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD is making waves and Thadani's AA Films has paid a huge price to Vyjayanthi Movies to acquire its theatrical distribution rights to release the movie in Hindi.## According to a report by Pinkvilla, "Anil Thadani has paid an advance of Rs 100 crore to acquire the North India Distribution rights of Kalki. Like always, he will be going all out to give this epic superhero saga a wide release in the North Indian markets and has already initiated conversations with cinema owners to block the screens".## Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The sci-fi epic stars Prabhas in the lead role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and others in prominent roles. ## The movie was supposed to be released on May 9, but reports say it has been postponed to May 31st or mid-June due to the general elections around this date in Telugu states. Mumbai, April 16 - Anil Thandai's AA Films locks a stellar theatrical distribution lineup for 4 of the most-awaited Pan India films of 2024. The studio recently announced its partnership with Karan Johar's Dharma Production to grab Hindi rights of director Koratala Siva and Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1, and now, the lineup gets bigger with blockbuster additions. ## One of the most celebrated distribution studios for backing films Baahubali, KGF, and Kantara in the dubbed Hindi version, AA Films is set for further domination as it has acquired Hindi theatrical distribution rights of Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule, directed by Sukumar, and Ram Charan's Game Changer, helmed by Shankar. ## Anil Thadani expects the four aforementioned upcoming films to create history at the box office as he told Variety, "Backed by massive budgets, they’re tailor-made for the big screen experience, starring superstars and helmed by the industry's most celebrated directors and producers. Mumbai, April 15 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's cop action drama Singham Again, directed by maverick Rohit Shetty, is unlikely to clash with Allu Arjun's Pan India monster, Pushpa 2 - The Rule this August as it has reportedly been postponed from its August 15 date. ## According to reports, Singham 3 won't be ready for release in August and hence, the makers have decided to postpone it. While the official announcement is yet to be made, it is said that the team is looking to shift the film to Diwali 2024, locking horns with Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. ## Singham Again is the third instalment of the blockbuster franchise and overall 5th movie in Rohit Shetty's cop universe which also includes Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh's Simmba. Singham 3 will also feature the extended cameos of Akshay and Ranveer alongside Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone. ## The postponement of Singham 3 means Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 will get a solo release during the Independence Day 2024 weekend to explode at the box office. Mumbai, April 14 - Pooja Entertainment's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has a low-extended first weekend at the domestic box office with a net collection of 40.25+ crores. The movie failed to overcome mixed to negative reception despite the Eid weekend. ## The Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer hasn't grown much on its first Sunday with a collection similar to yesterday for an estimated 8.75-9.25 crores net. The mass centres have contributed more to the overall total but are nowhere near the potential of a film featuring an A-list star cast with a blockbuster director. ## Given the flat trend over the weekend, it is clear that the movie hasn't been able to connect with the audiences, be it multiplex or mass. A super strong hold on Monday is crucial for the film if the movie wants to go anywhere near the 100 crore net mark. ## Ajay Devgn-starrer sports biopic Maidaan failed to convert the positive word of mouth into footfalls with a poor 4-day weekend with around 21.75 crores net collection. Kochi, April 14 - Malayalam superstar Mammootty will return to conquer the box office again as his much-awaited action-comedy Turbo release date has officially been confirmed. The Mass Entertainer is directed by Vysakh of Pulimurugan fame. ## Turbo has been announced to release on June 13, 2024, confirming the clash with Kamal Haasan's long-awaited Indian 2, which is said to be releasing on the same date, at the Kerala box office. The Tamil superstar's last movie, Vikram was a mega blockbuster in Kerala, so the audience is up for an exciting battle ahead. ## Produced by Mammootty Kampany, Turbo marks the third film between Mammootty and Vysakh after Pokkiri Raja (2010) and Madhura Raja (2019). Kochi, April 14 - Prithviraj Sukumaran's survival thriller Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life has become the third highest-grossing Malayalam movie at the worldwide box office after beating Mohanlal's Pulimurugan in 18 days. ## Directed by Blessy, Aadujeevitham grossed an estimated 137.50 crores, including around 82.50 crores in India and 55 crores overseas through the third Saturday (17 days). On its third Sunday (18th day), the film heading towards scoring an estimated 2.50 crores which will take its total collection to around 140 crores, surpassing Pulimurugan's 139.50 crores. ## Aadujeevitham is now behind only Manjummel Boys (232 crores) and 2018 (180 crores) as the third biggest Malayalam grosser, and it will finish with this position as it is unlikely to top any of the top two films. The movie has performed exceptionally well, both at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## It is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, one among thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, April 14 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action drama Kanguva is one of the most-anticipated films of the year. Hyderabad, April 14 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's much-awaited Pan India movie Pushpa 2 - The Rule is creating quite a steer ahead of its August 2024 release. The movie was already a hot topic among audiences and the recently released teaser has further generated curiosity. ## Pushpa 2 teaser was launched on April 8 on the occasion of Allu Arjun's birthday and has so far scored over 100 million views on YouTube. It has now broken a major record of having trended at number 1 on YT for 138 hours, making it the first Tollywood teaser to trend at number one for this long. ## Mythri Movie Makers announced on social media that the Pushpa 2 teaser has garnered 110+ million and 1.55+ million likes since it was launched and the views are growing rapidly with each passing hour. It is already one of the most-watched Indian movie teasers on YouTube. ## Pushpa 2 - The Rule is the second part of 2021's Pushpa - The Rise, directed by Sukumar who also produced the second part under Sukumar Writings with Mythri Movie Makers. Mumbai, April 13 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan shows a jump of around 15% on its first Saturday which might not be good enough after the underwhelming first two days for a movie carrying massive cost. ## According to early estimates, Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial flick scored 8.50-9 crores net, pushing the total to around 31.75 crores in 3-days. Ideally, the movie should have scored somewhere close to the opening day collection to get close to 50 crores opening weekend but it will now fall well short of that target. ## The opening weekend of BMCM is heading towards 40-43 crores net which is poor for the size of the movie. The biz on Monday will give a fair idea of where the film is heading as far as the lifetime collection is concerned. ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-fronted Maidaan sees a big jump of around 80% on its third day, however, the overall collection remains on the lower side with an estimated 5.50-6 crores net. The big jump was a must for the film after earning nowhere near its potential in the first two days. ## The total collection of the film after three days is over 15.50 crores net which is still very poor for a big-budget film. The movie will need to show a similar or bigger jump on Sunday as well and then will have to hope for a strong hold on Monday to stand a chance for a decent lifetime total. ## The good thing for both BMCM is that there is not a big release for the next couple of weeks so they will have a chance to collect if manage to hold on Monday. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, April 13 - Varun Dhawan's much-awaited action drama Baby John has reportedly been postponed from its May 31st release. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees, the movie is still in production and needs some more time to be completed. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, Baby John has so far been shot for more than 75 days since August 2023 but still has 10-12 days of shooting remaining, which is expected to be wrapped up by April-end. The movie will follow an extensive post-production. ## Also starring Keerthy Suresh (Bollywood debut) and Wamiqa Gabbi among others, the makers are now reportedly looking to release the film in June/July but the exact date will be locked once the shoot is wrapped up.
