Chennai, November 28 - Superstar Rajinikanth made a roaring comeback at the box office with director Nelson Dilipkumar's action drama Jailer which grossed over 600 crores worldwide. Shortly after the mega success, the sequel of the movie was confirmed and is now gearing up to roll out soon. ## According to the latest reports, the look test of Rajinikanth for Jailer 2 happened recently and a promo shoot for the same will be done on December 5. It is reported that the film will be officially announced on the superstar's birthday on December 12 with the first look promo. ## Director Nelson Dilipkumar has reportedly completed the script work of Jailer 2 and the rest of the cast for the same is being finalized. Sun Pictures will produce this mega project which is easily one of the most anticipated Tamil films in the making.## The original film follows "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a retired jailer who decides to protect his family from idol smuggler Varman. The movie also starred Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff in special roles along with Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, and Sunil. ## Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently busy with director Lokesh Kanagaraj's highly-awaited action thriller Coolie which boasts a solid rest of the cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. Chennai, November 28 - Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan's romantic drama 96 has been one of the most loved Tamil movies in recent times, not just in the original version but also the dubbed versions have been widely appreciated. ## Released in 2018, the film was a box-office blockbuster and received for its heartwarming writing and performances by the lead pair. 96 was also remade in Telugu and Kannada with different titles and now, the news is that the sequel of the film is in development with the original cast and crew.## According to Venkatramanan, C. Prem Kumar is set to return to direct the sequel with Govind Vasantha also returning to score the music. Dawn Pictures will produce the film and is expected to roll out next year. More details about the project will be revealed soon. ## The original movie revolves around the reunion of former students from the batch of 1996, twenty-two years after their graduation. Mumbai, November 27 - Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava has been postponed to February 2025. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, was supposed to hit the big screen on December 6 and was to clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule before Maddock Films decided to shift the release. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, Chhaava will now be released on February 14. The release date holds special significance since it coincides with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19 February. The movie is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and is based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal.## Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb along with others in key roles.## Meanwhile, the postponement of Chhaava to February 14, 2025, means Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde's action thriller Deva has been moved up by a couple of weeks. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the movie will now be released on January 31 after getting preponed from February 14. ## Deva, produced by Roy Kapur Films and Zee Studios, will be Shahid Kapoor's next theatrical release after this year's romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya which was a box office hit. Mumbai, November 27 - Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have started shooting for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly-anticipated war romantic drama Love and War which also stars Vicky Kaushal in prominent roles. ## Love & War is touted to be an epic romantic film set against the backdrop of war and this will feature the actors in the completely new retro looks. As the shoot commences, the looks of Ranbir and Alia leaked online while filming in Mumbai. ## In the leaked pictures, Ranbir Kapoor can be seen wearing a white shirt and black tie, sporting a vintage-style moustache and gelled pulled-back hair. Alia, on the other hand, is wearing a bell-sleeved white dress, which is tied at the waist. The actress had a big, puffed hairstyle, resembling a hairdo from decades back.## According to the reports, Alia Bhatt shot a grand sequence with Vicky Kaushal before shooting with Ranbir. Chennai, November 27 - Tamil star Dhanush has filed a case against actress Nayanthara for allegedly using visuals related to his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary - Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale without his permission. ## Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, was produced by Dhanush and the actor-filmmaker has been at loggerheads with the actress for the same. Recently, Nayan shared a note on social media in which she slammed Dhanush for denying her permission and demanding a 10 crore sum for using the film's footage in the documentary. ## According to the report by NDTV, Dhanush has approached the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan and their production house Rowdy Pictures Private Limited as the civil suit claims the actress and others used certain visuals from the movie without obtaining NOC. ## Dhanush's Wunderber Films Private also has taken out an application urging the High Court to grant permission to sue the Mumbai-based company Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, an entity through which Netflix reports its content investments in India, per NDTV.## The lawsuit threatens that if the content (in Nayanthara's documentary) isn't taken down within 24 hours, Dhanush's legal team will be forced to initiate appropriate legal action, including but not limited to seeking damages to a sum of Rs. 10 crores against Nayanthara and Netflix India.## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, November 27 - Superstar Allu Arjun's Pan India action drama film Pushpa 2 - The Rule is all set to have a very good start at the overseas box office, thanks to the superb response in the pre-sales which has crossed $2 million for the opening day, including premieres. ## In North America, the opening day pre-sales are $1.80+ million, including $1.6+ million for the premiere alone. The total advance booking gross (for all days) in NA has crossed $2 million which is said to be the fastest for an Indian title with a week still to go for the release. ## Apart from North America, Pushpa 2 has scored $230K+ advance sales in the UK for the opening day while Gulf booking is around $80K+ and Australia and other market sales are $215K+ so far. The total overseas pre-sales for the film are around $2.30+ million (19.50 crores) for the first day. ## The trade is expecting 50+ crores opening for Pushpa 2 which will be the biggest for a Allu Arjun-starrer. Mumbai, November 27 - Producer Sajid Nadiadwala's comedy entertainer Housefull 5 led by superstar Akshay Kumar has entered the final schedule of filming. Dostana fame Tarun Mansukhani is directing the film with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment producing. ## On Wednesday (November 27), the makers announced the commencement of the final schedule and to celebrate the legacy of the film, the entire massive ensemble star cast was also unveiled. Hyderabad, November 26 - The record will be in sight as the pre-sales of the highly-anticipated Pan India movie Pushpa 2 - The Rule starring superstar Allu Arjun begins next week. The buzz for this Sukumar's directorial is at an all-time high and the stage is set to make the most of it. ## Scheduled to be released on December 5, the pre-sales of Pushpa 2 is expected to open on November 30, Saturday which is 5 days before the release in India. As said, the movie will be targeting the biggest opening day as well as the weekend pre-sales in India, especially in Hindi. ## The current opening day pre-sales record is with superstar Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter which scored around 40 crores gross (with block seats) for the opening day. Without block seats, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan scored the biggest advance booking sales in Hindi with 36 crores gross for the opening day. Hyderabad, November 26 - In less than 2 weeks, superstar Allu Arjun's highly-anticipated action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule hits the big screen and expectations are that it will be among the biggest Indian openers, and possibly the biggest opener at the box office. ## Over the last couple of years, Indian cinema has seen some of the biggest blockbusters which exceeded theatrical runtime of 3 hours. And now, Pushpa 2 can be among those as the rumoured runtime of the same is almost the same as Ranbir Kapoor's A-rated mega-blockbuster Animal. ## According to the reports, the theatrical runtime of Pushpa 2 is approximately 3 hours and 21 minutes which is almost 22 minutes more than the first movie, Pushpa - The Rise. Normally, action films can give the feel of being stretched with this much runtime but the reports indicate that the film is coming out very well as the final edit is being locked. ## Pushpa - The Rule is directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings. Los Angeles, November 26—Last year, the Barbenheimer (Barbie and Oppenheimer) phenomenon stormed the box office from its record-breaking start to its historic finish. Both movies collectively grossed over $2.4 billion worldwide and were two of the year's highest-grossing films, with Barbie finishing at the top with $1.44 billion. ## More than a year later, another box office clash called Glicked (Gladiator II and Wicked) is making waves. It is not exactly as big as Barbenheimer but powerful enough to keep the trade excited going forward where Wicked is behaving like Barbie while Gladiator II can be the Oppenheimer. ## The Ridley Scott's directorial R-rated epic historical action drama, Gladiator 2 has already surpassed $200 million globally after debuting internationally on November 13. Through Sunday (November 24), G2 has made $165.5 million at the overseas box office while it debuted domestically (North America) on November 22 and grossed $55 million in the opening weekend for a worldwide cume of $220 million. ## Wicked, which is a musical fantasy film starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, had a strong debut domestically with a huge $112.5 million opening weekend. Chennai, November 25 - Tamil star Suriya's most ambitious film Kanguva has crossed 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. While this could have been a major milestone of any other film of Suriya, the same is not with Kanguva which is facing outright rejection from audiences after a promising yet underwhelming start. ## Directed by Siva, Kanguva was a film keenly awaited by audiences and was seen as a potential big blockbuster at the box office. But all the hype around the film faded immediately after it got a disastrous reception from the moviegoers and critics upon release and there was no relief since then. ## The film crossed 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office on its 10th day. Domestically, Kanguva has grossed approximately 78 crores, including around 32 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Overseas, the movie has minted an estimated approximately 23 crore gross for 101 crores worldwide gross in 10 days. ## As said, Kanguva's performance at the box office has been a shocker and it is nowhere near the tall claims made by the makers before the release.
