Mumbai, October 28 - In a landmark move, Amazon Prime Video's hit crime thriller web series Mirzapur is set to be adapted into a theatrical film. Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment will produce it. ## The series explores power dynamics and the criminal underworld in the heartland of northern India. The theatrical adaptation, set to debut in 2026, is one of the first instances when a major streaming product is being made into a theatrical film. ## The film will feature the return of the show's principal cast, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Abhishek Banerjee is also confirmed to reprise his role as the Compounder. ## In another significant move, the film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video only after 8-weeks of theatrical release. Mumbai, October 27 - Tom Hardy-fronted superhero movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage has had a good extended 4-day opening weekend and one of the biggest for a Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. ## After scoring 5.50+ crores gross on its Thursday opening day, Venom 3 showed a good jump over the weekend to gross approximately 38.25 crores in 4 days which is the third biggest for a Hollywood title of the year after Deadpool & Wolverine (84 crores gross) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (47 crore gross). ## The 39 crore gross opening weekend collection makes Venom 3 the second highest-grossing film of the franchise after crossing Venom: Let There Be Carnage which grossed approximately 28.50 crores in 2021. It will become the biggest grosser in the series by topping Venom (41+ crores gross) by tomorrow. ## Venom 3 is already the 4th highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. Los Angeles, October 27 - Sony Pictures' Marvel movie Venom: The Last Dance debuted with a strong $175 million in its opening weekend at the worldwide box office, thanks to the international markets where the movie overperformed. ## The Tom Hardy-starrer superhero movie, however, has had a lower-than-expected opening at the domestic (North America) box office, grossing $51 million in its 3-day opening weekend. This is the lowest opening in the Venom franchise and the lowest ever for a comic book trilogy. ## In the Venom franchise, the film is nowhere close to the opening of the first two movies. The 2018 Venom scored $80 million on opening weekend, followed by Venom: Let There Be Carnage which opened to a then-pandemic record $90 million in North America. ## Overseas, Venom 3 performed fantastically and grossed $124 million over the 5-day opening weekend from 64 markets. This is way more than Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($62.3 million) and just behind Venom which scored $125.2 million internationally in its opening weekend. ## China was the biggest overseas market of Venom 3 with $46 million, followed by Mexico ($7.3 million), South Korea ($5.8 million), the UK ($5.7 million) and India ($4.6 million / 39 crores gross). Hyderabad, October 27 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan-fronted Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar, is one of the most-anticipated Indian movies and is the first for the actor since SS Rajamouli's directorial mega-blockbuster RRR in March 2022. ## Game Changer has been in production since late 2021 and after multiple postponements, the movie was finally confirmed to hit the big screens on January 10, 2025, during the Sankranthi festival in multiple languages. Mumbai, October 27 - The Dussehra weekend Bollywood releases, Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have underperformed at the box office, particularly the former which has credible names attached to it. ## It has been a struggling ride for the action thriller Jigra which has barely managed to go past 50 crores at the worldwide box office. Domestically, the movie is a big flop, grossing approximately 36.50 crores (30.35 crores net) in 16 days so far. ## At the overseas box office, Jigra has managed to mint an estimated 18 crores, for a worldwide cume of around 54.50 crores gross collection. This is Alia Bhatt's lowest-grossing film worldwide since Highway which minted approximately 52.50 crores gross in 2012. ## The comedy-drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has performed decently so far. In India, it has performed much better than Jigra and has grossed approximately 46+ crores collection (39 crores net) in 16 days while overseas collection is an estimated 8.50 crores gross for the worldwide cume to 54.50 crores. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, October 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, has entered the 100 crores gross club at the Tamil Nadu box office, becoming the second movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## Directed by T. J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan entered the 100 crore club in the state on its 17th day, third Saturday. It is the second back-to-back film of Rajinikanth (excluding Lal Salaam in which Rajinikanth played an extended appearance), after mega-blockbuster Jailer last year. ## However, despite crossing 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Vettaiyna has underperformed at the box office, not meeting the pre-release expectations. It has been a struggle for the movie so far with around 250 crores gross worldwide. ## In 16 days so far, the movie has minted approximately 166 crores in India and 80 crores overseas for approximately 246 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. Chennai, October 26 - Legendary duo of Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam joined forces 36 years after Nayakan for the action drama film Thug Life. It is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies and has been one of the most-anticipated Tamil movies in the making. ## The principal photography of Thug Life has been completed and the movie is currently in the post-production stage. Meanwhile, the film's release date has reportedly been revealed and a possible box office face-off is looming large. ## According to the latest Tamil media reports, Thug Life will be released on April 10, 2025, in multiple languages. This would mean a direct clash with Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted horror-comedy The Raja Saab which is already scheduled to hit the big screen on the same day. ## Subject to the official announcement, Thug Life will be released during the Tamil New Year, an ideal date for Tamil movies to cash in at the box office. However, it will face massive competition outside the Tamil market as Prabhas is easily the biggest star in the country presently. ## The Kamal Haasan-fronted boasts a rock-solid star cast, which also includes Silambarasan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Ashok Selvan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nassar, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri in key roles.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, October 26 - Ajay Devgn's psychological thriller Naam with director Anees Bazmee finally has a release date. It was one of the films which was put on the backburner despite completing the shoot due to some reasons. ## According to reports, Naam went on floors around 2004 and took a year or two to be finished. It was supposed to be released in 2006 but the release was halted. Now, the makers have announced that the film will be released in cinemas on November 22. ## Produced by Anil Roongta of Roongta Entertainment in association with Snigdhaa Movies P Ltd, Naam is a psychological thriller in which a person loses his memory and embarks on a journey to find his identity.
