Mumbai, July 14 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has entered the list of the top 5 biggest net grossers after surpassing Ranbir Kapoor's mega-blockbuster Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic minted an estimated 14.35 crores net collection on its third Saturday (17th day) with a jump of around 140% from Friday. This pushed the film's total net collection past Animal (554 crores approx.) at an estimated 564 crores net. ## Kalki 2898 AD is now the 5th biggest net grosser (7th in terms of gross collection) after 17 days and with its 18th day, it will cross the gross total of Pathaan (657.50 crores) and Animal (660 crores) to become the 5th biggest grosser at the Indian box office.## Here Are Top 5 Movies At The Indian Box Office (Estimated Net Collection, As of July 13, 2024) - ## 1. Mumbai, July 14 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 10th Indian movie to top 900 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office after witnessing a massive jump on its third Saturday to score 20+ crores gross worldwide.## Starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD minted an estimated 17.50 crores gross on its 17th day in India, taking its total domestic collection to approximately 670 crores. Overseas, the movie has grossed an estimated 240 crores for worldwide 910 crores in 17 days.## Kalki 2898 AD will become the 7th highest-grossing Indian film of all time at the worldwide box office after its third Sunday (18th day) collection by beating Secret Superstar (913 crores gross approx.), Animal (915 crores gross approx.), and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (922 crores gross approx.). ## The epic blockbuster is still in the race to become the 7th Indian movie to enter the 1000 crores worldwide gross club but the legs during the weekdays are slowing down which might stop it from achieving this milestone. Chennai, July 14 - Veteran Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2, directed by S. Shankar, scored the biggest opening of 2024 for a Tamil movie at the domestic and worldwide box office by a long margin. ## The sequel to the 1996 film Indian, Indian 2 grossed an estimated 30.25 crores in India and 26 crores overseas for 56.25 crores worldwide on opening day. It has beaten Dhanush's Captain Miller, which scored approximately 14 crores on its opening day, to become the biggest Tamil opener of the year.## With the opening day collection, Indian 2 became the 6th highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 at the domestic as well as worldwide box office, and with the second-day box office figures, it has become the third biggest grosser after Maharaja (104 crores gross approx.) and Aranmanai 4 (99 crores gross approx.) worldwide. ## Indian 2 stars Kamal Haasan, reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, leading a massive ensemble which also includes Siddharth, S. Mumbai, July 13 - After the low start, Akshay Kumar's Sarfira witnessed a jump of around 70% on its second day, however, the overall collection remains low due to the poor start which was one of the lowest for the actor in many many years.## According to the early estimates, Sarfira has earned in the range of 4-4.25 crores net on its first Saturday/second day, pushing the total to around 6.50+ crores net in 2 days which is poor collection. The movie needed to score a jump of over 100% today, although it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the lost ground it could have given the movie some sort of momentum. ## The word of mouth for the movie is positive but to say that it will make any positive difference to the overall collection is tough to guess because these kinds of films have been struggling to bring crowds to the theatres in large numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend total is headed to finish around 12 crores net.## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) hasn't seen any growth today as estimates suggest the second-day collection of the dubbed version to be around 1.25 crores net, pushing the total to approx. 2.50 crores net in two days as opening weekend heading for around 4 crores net.## There was some drop in the collection of the Telugu version of the film as the first Saturday estimates for all versions of Indian 2 suggest the collection to be around 20 crores gross (17 crores net) for around 50 crores total domestic gross in two days. Chennai, July 13 - Veteran actor Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has had a good opening at the worldwide box office with 56+ crores gross collection which includes 30+ crores from the domestic market, making it the second biggest start for an Indian movie of 2024. ## Directed by Shankar, Indian 2, however, got criticism for its lengthy runtime which is 3 hours and upon feedback from audiences, the makers have now decided to trim 20 minutes to make it 2 hours and 40 minutes film. Mumbai, July 13 - Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree 2 is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and recently released teaser further boosts the hype ahead of the film's release on August 15 on the occasion of the Independence Day. ## As the release date is getting nearer, the makers are now gearing up for the trailer of the movie. As per the latest reports, the much-awaited trailer of Stree 2 will be launched on July 18, Thursday, 4 weeks before the film's official release.## The trailer of the movie will be attached with the prints of Dharma Productions' Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, in theatres from August 19. Mumbai, July 13 - Actor Sanjay Dutt has officially confirmed on board comedy entertainer Housefull 5. He will star alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan in the prominent role in the film, to be directed by Dostana fame Tarun Mansukhani. ## Sanjay Dutt is the newest member to join the Housefull franchise and it marks the reunion of Akshay, Riteish, and Abhishek after Housefull 3 (2016), directed by Sajid-Farhad. The 5th instalment of the blockbuster franchise by producer Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandon Entertainment is one of the costliest Indian films with a budget of over 300 crores.## Housefull 5 will start shooting in August and entirely be filmed on a cruise ship in the UK. Mumbai, July 12 - Akshay Kumar's drama film Sarfira takes a low start at the box office with poor occupancy throughout the day. The movie was expected to see some boost due to the positive reviews which don't seem happening as it opens in the range of Selfiee. ## Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, has had pre-sales between Akshay Kumar's previous two low starters, Selfiee and Mission Raniganj which indicated a low start which turns out to be true as it scored an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores net opening day. ## The movie was always going to open in a similar range due to its remake status which has struggled in the post-COVID era, and its subject which doesn't have mass appeal. The initial word of mouth, however, seems to be positive which can come into play over the weekend but it will be hard for it to make up for the very low opening. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) also has a poor start which was expected due to negligible pre-sales. As per the early estimates, the movie is expected to open in the range of 1.25 crores net collection which might vary on either side when the actuals come. ## Indian 2, however, has a much better showing in all versions on its opening day as it is expected to score an estimated 25-26 crores net (30-31 crores gross) collection. The movie has opened on the expected lines with a slightly lower of the optimistic projections. ## In Tamil Nadu, it is expected to gross in the range of 13+ crores, followed by 9-10 crores in Telugu states which is a good collection. The rest of India gross of the movie is estimated to be around 8 crores, including around 4 crores in Karnataka. Los Angeles, July 12 - The blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas has created another record after the Telugu version of the movie became the highest-grossing ever at the North American box office. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the original Telugu version of Kalki has crossed $12 million (100+ crores) which is an all-time record for the Telugu language in NA, according to Venky Box Office. Overall, the sci-fi epic has topped $17 million (142 crores) for all versions there.## Kalki 2898 AD is likely to cross Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan ($17.45 million) this weekend to become the second highest-grossing Indian film in North America, behind only Prabhas' own film, Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion ($22 million). Hyderabad, July 12 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has had a good second weekend at the domestic box office, grossing an estimated 152 crores, which brings its total collection to an estimated 646+ crores gross in all versions in 15 days. ## After the original Telugu version leading in the first week, it was the Hindi version of the sci-fi epic which drove the biz in the second week as it grossed an estimated 83+ crores gross (70.50 crores net approx.), pushing the total Hindi collection to approximately 277+ crores gross (233 crores net approx.). ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is only the 8th movie ever to top 600 crores gross collection in India and it is currently the 7th biggest. The Aditya Sarpotdar's directorial achieved the feat in its 5th week of the box office run.## Part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjya minted approximately 3 crores net collection in its 5th week, which took its total collection over 100 crores net.
