Box Office: 'Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes' Roars To $129 Million Worldwide Opening

Mumbai, May 12 - Disney's Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes opened on the projected lines at the worldwide box office with a strong $131 million in its first 5-day weekend. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the fourth instalment in the Planet of the Apes reboot franchise grossed a solid $58.5 million (488 crores) over a 3-day weekend. The movie's opening is the second biggest in the rebooted franchise, behind only Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which opened to $72 million. ## While the domestic opening of Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes was slightly higher than the projection, the overseas collection of the movie fell a little short of the projection but was still solid with $72.7 million (607 crores) over the 5-day weekend, for $131.2 million (1095 crores) global start.## China was once again the biggest international market for the movie with $11.6 million, followed by France ($7.6M), and Mexico with $6.4 million. Meanwhile, at the Indian box office, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has a decent opening with an estimated $1.70 million (14 crores) over the 3-day weekend. ## Stay tuned...
