Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the tensions have increased between India and China at the border after a violent face-off on June 15-16 at Line Of Actual Control (LAC) between the two nuclear nations. A few days after, the government of India took a bold decision and banned 59 Chinese apps including Tik Tok, Xender, UC Browser, and Shareit. ## Now, supporting the GOI's move, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has passed a statement and asked Bollywood stars not to endorse any Chinese product. The statement read as follows, "We, therefore, request all not to endorse any Chinese brand in the wake of the ongoing tension between the two countries".## "It is an issue of serious concern and we should all give utter priority to the safety and security of our Nation. For us, the 'Nation comes First'. Hence, we appeal all to kindly refrain from promoting any Chinese products or related brands".## Several Bollywood stars including Amir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, and others promote mobile phones that are made in china. And now, it seems that after FWICE's plea, the star will have to drop out of their endorsements. ## It is surely a good move by the FWICE. Bollywood actress Amrita Rao is feeling proud of Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja Mandal for not celebrating the Ganeshotsav this year in August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the Mandal has decided to organize blood and plasma donation camps in its place. They will also be providing financial support to the families of policemen who died of Coronavirus. ## Amrita Rao, in an interview with ETimes, said, "Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal has taken it to another level of nobility by deciding to organize blood and plasma donation camps. They will also be providing financial assistance to the families of policemen who died of Covid-19 in place of this year's annual Ganesh Utsav celebrations".## "I hope every big pandal in the city takes inspiration from Lalbaugcha Raja. This year Ganapati Bappa is giving his blessings through humanity and doctors", the actress said. ## She further said, "I have been visiting the pandal since my childhood and my Ganesh Chaturthi celebration are incomplete without this darshan, however, I am truly impressed and grateful to them that without thinking about donations or any other factor they have postponed their pandal celebration this August in the best interest of the public's health".## The 39-year old actress also feels that the COVID-19 pandemic has given humans a wake-up call that if we don't act to protect the environment, it will find its own way of regaining the balance. ## "Nature had to literally lock humans down in their homes to regain its balance. There were some news peddling on social media that Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty have removed Karan Johar and Dharma Productions from the upcoming movie Sooryavanshi and have returned the investment. A source close to the development reveals that "Laxmmi Bomb was sold for a huge amount of Rs 125 crores. Ajay Devgn along with producers Bhushan Kumar, Vajir Singh, and others also have cracked a solid deal with Hotstar for Bhuj. The film has been sold for a whopping price of Rs 112 crores. That also makes Bhuj the second highest-earning film to release on OTT platforms this year after Laxmmi Bomb so far".## It is important to highlight that because of the stardom of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, both the movies could have earned more had it released in the theaters first. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Wednesday took to social media and posted a furious note seeking justice for the custodial deaths of a father-son duo Jayaraj and Bennix. The superstar is also furious at the police for their behavior in front of the magistrate investigating the case. ## He posted a photo of him looking upset and a note which is written in Tamil translated to, "I am shocked to know the behavior of few police officials in front of the magistrate investigating the case inspite of being aware of the protests of citizens against the brutal act of the police. All the police involved in the case should be punished and not be spared. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations as the organization has invited 819 new artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. ## Every year, some of the Indian celebrities also get an invitation to join the ceremony. This year, Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt are two of the few Indians who have been invited to become new members. The Academy has recognized Hrithik Roshan for his work in Super 30 and Jodha Akbar while Alia Bhatt received an invitation for her brilliant work in Raazi and Gully Boy. ## "The Academy is delighted to welcome these distinguished fellow travelers in the motion picture arts and sciences. We have always embraced extraordinary talent that reflects the rich variety of our global film community, and never more so than now", said Academy President David Rubin in a statement.## Some of the other Indian members who have been invited are Music producer Nainita Desai (The Reason I Jump, For Sama), Casting Director Nandini Shrikent (Life Of Pi and Gully Boy), Costume Designer Neeta Lulla (Jodhaa Akbar, Devdas), Documentary directors Nishtha Jain (Gulabi Gang, Lakshmi and Me), Amit Madheshiya (The Hour of Lynching, The Cinema Travellers), Producer Priya Swaminathan, and VFX supervisor Vishal Anand (Bharat, War).## The 2020 class is 45% women, 36% underrepresented ethnic/racial communities, and 49% international from 68 countries. Well, the creative producer Archana Kalpathi of Bigil has revealed an interesting fact about the role of an aged gangster. ## In a recent interview with a leading portal, Archana Kalpathi revealed that Rayappan's role was earlier supposed to be played by someone else as the Bigil team was not sure whether the ever young Vijay would be apt to play the character. ## However, after seeing the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's aged look in Chhichhore, the entire team of the Tamil blockbuster convinced that they can make the actor look old. They showed Vijay the rough sketch of the look which Vijay liked and immediately agreed to play the character. ## After the news broke out on how the late actor who committed suicide on June 14 had inspired the biggest star of Tamil cinema has become a talk of the town in Bollywood industry which has come under the scanner after Sushant's untimely demise. ## Talking about Bigil, it is a sports drama film written and directed by Atlee and produced by AGS Entertainment. It was released theatrically in India on 25 October 2019 and upon its release, the film got mixed reviews. One of the best entertainers of the Hindi cinema, Coolie No. 1 starring the blockbuster duo of Govinda and Karishma Kapoor has completed 25 years on June 30. The remake of the 1993 Tamil film Chinna Mapillai, Coolie No. 1 has become a classic in Hindi film history and is now considered a cult film. ## It is a comedy film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani who made his debut with the film as a producer. Now, on the film's 25th anniversary, Vashu Bhagnani took to Twitter and recalls the fond memories that were created while making the film.
