Mumbai, June 16 - Superstar Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 continues to do well and has crossed 150 crores net collection after scoring a good second weekend domestically. The film witnessed almost a 100% growth from the second Friday to Sunday. ## The comedy entertainer scored approximately 6 crore net on the second Friday, followed by a jump of around 60% for 9.50 crores net on Saturday, and another 20% jump on Sunday for around 11.50 crores net. It minted approximately 27 crores net in the second weekend, which is down by around 65% from the opening weekend. The total collection of the movie is around 154 crores net in 10 days. ## Housefull 5 has been enjoying almost a free run so far, but superstar Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is coming next week, which means the screens will be shared. The good thing for HF5 is that the word of mouth is in favour, which should ensure enough number of screens to continue scoring steady collections at lower levels. ## At this point, the film is heading for 175+ crore net finish, but the entry into the 200 crore club can also not be ruled out, depending on how it performs after the arrival of SZP. Kochi, June 15 - Actor Unni Mukundan's action thriller Marco proved to be one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Malayalam cinema with the worldwide collection of over 100 crores. However, despite the big box office success, the movie also brought criticism for the actor. ## Marco attracted huge controversy and negativity for its violent nature, which many believe was below the belt and also put CBFC under scrutiny for passing the film. Despite all the noise surrounding the movie, it emerged as a huge box office success, leading the makers to announce Marco, with a promise that they would be extra careful in depicting the violence. ## There was a huge anticipation for the sequel among its targeted audience; however, in a surprising turn of events, Marco 2 has officially been dropped. Kochi, June 14 - Superstar Mohanlal and director Jeetu Joseph reunited for the crime suspense thriller, Drishyam 3, which was officially announced earlier this year without any release date or shooting timeline. It is among the most anticipated films, and the stakes are all-time high for the film. ## The Hindi version of Drishyam 3, headlined by Ajay Devgn, has also been announced for a confirmed release date of October 2, 2026. The film will be directed by Abhishek Pathak, with the rest of the cast also expected to return. It will go on the floors towards the end of this year. ## Drishyam 3 Hindi will reportedly be different from the Malayalam version, unlike the first two films, which were remakes of the Malayalam films. It was supposed to hit the big screen first among other versions; however, the latest reports suggest otherwise. ## Reportedly, Jeetu Joseph and Mohanlal will begin shooting for the third instalment of this celebrated franchise in September this year, and if this happens, then it will likely hit the big screen ahead of the Hindi version. ## While the early release of Drishyam 3 Malayalam may not be a concern for the Hindi version, as both are reportedly different, it may prove to be a big advantage for the former if the makers decide to release it in the dubbed Hindi version. ## There is undoubtedly huge anticipation among the Hindi audience for the movie, and the Malayalam makers must be aware of it. Mumbai, June 14 - The comedy entertainer Housefull 5, starring superstar Akshay Kumar, has topped a gross collection of 200 crores at the worldwide box office, becoming only the third Bollywood movie of 2025, after Chhaava and Raid 2, to achieve this feat. ## Tarun Mansukhani's directorial hit the milestone of the double century on its 8th day, with a total worldwide collection of around 204 crores, including approximately 160 crores in India and around 44 crores at the overseas box office. ## Housefull 5 is the second fastest Bollywood title of the year to hit 200 crores gross globally, after Chhaava. It is also one of the fastest Akshay Kumar movies to do the same. Overall, it is Akshay's 11th movie in the 200 crore club worldwide, and third post the Covid-19 pandemic. ## HF5 will be crossing Raid 2 (236 crore) in the next few days to emerge as the second biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that he will be making a cameo appearance in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role among others. ## While promoting his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan responded to a fan's question during the interview with Zoom. He revealed that he is a big fan of Rajinikanth and agreed to play the cameo role when Lokesh approached him without hearing the script. ## "I enjoyed doing it. I am a big fan of Rajini sir... huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, Done. I am doing it. Mumbai, June 13 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's comedy entertainer Housefull 5 has completed the first week of its theatrical run, grossing close to 200 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the 5th instalment of the hit franchise has grossed approximately 152 crores (127 crores net) at the domestic box office, while its overseas collection is estimated at 43 crores, for a worldwide total of around 195 crores in 7 days. ## Housefull 5 has become the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025, behind Salman Khan's Sikandar, which grossed around 185 crores. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is currently the biggest grosser with around 808 crores, followed by Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 (236 crores). ## The latest hit is the highest-grossing film of Akshay Kumar since August 2023, when OMG 2 grossed approximately 222 crores. Hyderabad, June 12 - One of the most ambitious Indian films in the making, AA22xA6, has begun filming today, June 12, in Mumbai. The film marks the first collaboration between superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee. ## The film was officially launched on June 11 with a puja ceremony in Mumbai, before kickstarting the principal photography a day later. It is said that Mrunal Thakur, who plays one of the female leads, has joined the first schedule with Allu Arjun. ## It will be a brief yet crucial schedule, focusing on key sequences that will set the tone for the expansive production ahead. A special announcement photoshoot with the cast of the film also reportedly happened yesterday, which will be unveiled in the next announcement. ## AA22xA6 is reportedly being made on a budget of over 600 crores, making it among the costliest Indian films ever. Set in a parallel universe, the film promises to redefine cinematic storytelling with its visual effects and high-concept world-building. ## The film stars Allu Arjun in a dual role alongside Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor in prominent roles. Los Angeles, June 11 - A new feature film about the DC superhero Wonder Woman is officially in development, according to the CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn. The movie would be in addition to an HBO series about Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira. ## During an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), James Gunn said that they are working on Wonder Woman, which is currently being written. According to Variety, the new film would be a fresh start for the superhero character, and it is unlikely to bring Gal Gadot, who has played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. ## Gadot has played this iconic character in 2017's "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," 2020's "Wonder Woman 1984," 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League," and in a cameo in 2023's "The Flash." ## There are several DC Films that are said to be in development at the studio, and a few of them have already been greenlit. The first, "Superman," opens in July this year, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The second, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," starring Milly Alcock, opens in June 2026. Hyderabad, June 11 - Director Trivikram Srinivas last directed the superstar Mahesh Babu-fronted Guntur Kaaram, which was released in January 2024. Since then, the director has been working on a mythological film and teamed up with superstar Allu Arjun for the same. ## Allu Arjun's film with Trivikram was supposed to start rolling by the end of this year; however, things have changed a lot over the last few weeks. According to the latest Telugu media reports, the Pushpa star has amicably parted ways with the director due to a scheduling conflict. ## It is said that the film, which was supposed to be made with Allu Arjun, will now be headlined by superstar Jr. NTR, marking his reunion with the director after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). The film is about the God of War, Kartikeya / Subrahmanya Swamy. The project is said to be confirmed, and it will be produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations. The official announcement of the same is expected to be made in a few days. ## There has been an interesting rumour about Trivikram's film. It is said that the film was originally planned with Tamil star Suriya back in 2020. But then Covid happened, and later, the project went to Allu Arjun, and now, it will finally be made with Jr. NTR. ## Meanwhile, Trivikram will team up with Venkatesh Daggubati for his next, which begins in July this year. He will then make a film with superstar Ram Charan, and after completing it, he will start Jr. NTR's film, possibly by the end of 2026 or early 2027. Mumbai, June 11 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is opting for a strategic release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which debuts on the big screen on June 20. The film is the spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in the news for all the right reasons. It has already been confirmed that the movie won't be released on any OTT platform after its theatrical release, a decision which is being enjoyed by exhibitors. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Aamir, along with his national distributing partner, PVR-Inox, has decided to give a platform release to Sitaare Zameen Par, which is basically to increase the shows on a real-time basis throughout the day. It is a one of its kind strategy to release the film. ## It is said that Aamir Khan is super confident of the film, but he is also well aware of the change in audience dynamics post the Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping this in mind, the makers have reportedly decided to release the film on around 1200 screens nationwide on the opening day. ## The idea is to add more screens based on audience word of mouth. "The release will be more concentrated towards the high-performing cinema halls in the respective areas, before slowly transitioning to the mass belts on demand", says the report. ## The good thing is that no one knows when the film will be available on home media since Aamir has decided not to release it on OTT, and this gives the makers enough time to implement their release strategy. It will also have the same kind of release in international markets, but the details are not known yet. ## Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by R. S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
