Mumbai, April 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's historical courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is shaping up to be a dark horse at the box office. The recently released teaser and trailer have raised the anticipation. ## Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 is scheduled to hit the big screens on April 18 and ahead of the big debut, the makers have completed censorship formalities today. It has been revealed that the movie is censored with an A (18+) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). ## The film's official theatrical runtime is 135 minutes (2 hours and 15 minutes), and its adult rating hints at the film's intense and possibly graphic portrayal of one of the most turbulent chapters, the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.## Kesari 2 is the second film of Akshay Kumar post the Covid-19 pandemic to receive an A certificate by CBFC after OMG 2 (2023) which went on to become a big box office success with over 200 crores gross collection worldwide. ## The official plot summary of the movie reveals, "Inspired by annals of history, this is the riveting tale of Sankaran Nair, a fearless and charismatic barrister who waged an epic legal battle against the mighty British Empire, exposing to the world the brutal truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre".## In the movie, produced by Dharma Productions in association with Leo Media Collective and Cape of Good Films, Akshay Kumar plays the role of C. Mumbai, April 9 - Legendary director Ram Gopal Varma and actor Manoj Bajpayee are set to reunite for a spine-chilling horror-comedy, a genre which neither of them has done in the past. The film has been titled Police Station Mein Bhoot, and this marks their first collaboration since Shool (1999). Taking to the social media platform X, Ram Gopal Varma announced the film and wrote, "After Satya, Kaun and Shool, I am thrilled to announce that me and Manoj Bajpayee are once again teaming up for a horror-comedy, a genre which neither of us did. I have done horror, gangster, romantic, political dramas, adventure capers, thrillers, etc., but never a horror-comedy. The film is titled Police Station Mein Bhoot. Chennai, April 9 - Thala Ajith Kumar's highly anticipated Good Bad Ugly gears for a massive start at the box office. The movie is being seen as a big comeback for the actor after the debacle performance of his last movie, Vidaamuyarchi, which was released in February this year. ## Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly is slated to hit the screens on April 10 in multiple languages and the advances for the same are strong, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu. As per the latest pre-sales trend, the film has crossed 15 crores gross collection for the opening day which is currently among the top 5 in Tamil Nadu. ## The overall advance booking for Good Bad Ugly is nearing 18+ crores gross mark in India for the first day, while the same is around 35 crores, including 28+ crores in Tamil Nadu for the 4-day opening weekend, which is fantastic. ## The final pre-sales of the film are expected to finish in the top 3, which will put it on track for a 30+ crores gross opening in Tamil Nadu. Mumbai, April 9 - After the historic success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol has teamed up with Telugu director Gopichand Malineni for his next film Jaat. The movie, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, is slated to hit the big screens on April 10. ## Ahead of the much-awaited release, the makers cleared the censorship formalities on April 8. The film has officially been censored with U/A (16+) by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes (153 minutes). ## As per reports, the CBFC has asked to make 22 changes, including replacing abusive words and replacing as many as 10 scenes with CGI. Due to changes, 2 minutes and 6 seconds of scenes were cut and replaced with appropriate visuals, totalling 1 minute and 37 seconds.## The official plot summary of Jaat reveals, "In a remote coastal village, ruthless criminal Varadaraja Ranatunga terrorizes the locals. A traveling stranger's chance encounter with his men uncovers the villagers' suffering. Realizing the deep-rooted corruption, he takes matters into his own hands. Hyderabad, April 9 - Superstar Jr. NTR and director Prashanth Neel's maiden collaboration, tentatively titled Dragon, is all set to get a new release date. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, is currently in production, and the makers are set to release a big update on April 9. ## NTR-Neel/Dragon was announced a long time back, and the makers confirmed last year that it would hit the big screens during the Sankranthi festival in 2026. However, according to the latest Telugu media report, the hugely anticipated action drama will be delayed to the summer of 2026. ## It is said that Dragon will now hit the big screens on April 9, 2026, in multiple languages, and the official announcement for the same is expected to be made on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Currently, there is no other Indian film slated for this date. ## Recently, producer Ravi Shankar said that Dragon is a unique script that hasn't been seen in Indian cinema before. Mumbai, April 8 - Director Siddharth Anand has seemingly addressed rumours surrounding superstar Shah Rukh Khan's hugely-awaited King. The project has been making tremendous noise on social media for the last few days due to various reasons and now, the filmmaker has responded to those rumours. ## Recently, a report emerged that Deepika Padukone will reunite with Anand and SRK to play an extended cameo role. While the filmmaker didn't mention the report, he seemingly denied the casting of Deepika by calling it fake on Twitter/X. ## There was another rumour that the shooting of King would be delayed by a couple of months, and again, Anand debunked it and called it false. He then mentioned May 2025 in a separate post on X, reportedly confirming the commencement of filming as reported previously. ## Meanwhile, a new report has emerged that not Deepika Padukone, but Sonam Bajwa has been cast to play a key role. The official confirmation, however, is yet to be made. Hyderabad, April 8 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Mallidi Vassishta have teamed up for the first time for a socio-fantasy drama film Vishwambhara. The film was announced in 2023 with the first look poster, and since then, the fans have been eagerly waiting for its release. ## Vishwambhara was supposed to be released on Sankranti 2025 but was postponed due to the pending work. Now, according to the latest Telugu media report, the movie is gearing up to hit the big screens on July 24, 2025, worldwide. Hyderabad, April 8 - One of the most talked about collaborations of the Indian cinema between Pan India superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee has officially been announced on the actor's 43rd birthday today, with the behind-the-scenes footage of the team meeting. ## The film will be produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, and it will involve artists from India and Hollywood. The announcement video of the film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, shows Allu Arjun along with director Atlee and producer Maran meeting at Sun Pictures' office in Chennai, where they discussed the project. ## The video then shows the trio fly to Los Angeles to visit Lola VFX Studio along with Spectral Motion, Fractured FX, ILM Technoprops, Ironhead Studio, and Legacy Effects to discuss this magnum opus project. Some of the artists of these studios can be heard hailing the vision of the makers and calling the story unbelievable and never heard before. ## The BTS footage of the announcement video has raised expectations, and it seems the makers are trying to create something the Indian audience has never seen before. Los Angeles, April 6 - Hollywood has woken up again to banish the box office blues, thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures' video game adaptation A Minecraft Movie. ## Starring Jason Momoa, the fantasy adventure comedy film, based on the 2011 video game Minecraft, has shattered records at the domestic (North America) and worldwide box office to score the biggest opening weekend ever for a live-action video game adaptation title. ## Made on a budget of $150 million, Minecraft struck gold with a record-shattering $163 million opening domestically, the biggest for a video game adaptation, beating The Super Mario Bros Movie's $146.4 million. It scored the best 3-day opening weekend start since Deadpool and Wolverine in July last year. ## Overseas, the film minted a huge $150.70 million in the 5-day weekend over 74 markets, pushing total opening to $313.70 million, which is the best live-action and second-best video game adaptation, only under The Super Mario Bros Movie's $377 million.## The film has come much higher than even the most optimistic industry projection to stun the Hollywood trade. Warner Bros. Pictures had projected a $135 million start, now history with record-shattering numbers. Mumbai, April 6 - Actress Priyanka Chopra is making her big Indian cinema comeback with maverick director SS Rajamouli and superstar Mahesh Babu's next, tentatively titled SSMB 29. The shoot for the same has already started and the makers will soon announce the film officially. ## Meanwhile, rumours have been making the rounds that PC is also a part of director Atlee's film with superstar Allu Arjun. While the fans are rejoicing at the reports, according to Pinkvilla, the Mary Kom star is not in the film; in fact, she never was approached for the same. ## The rumours, however, might have been partially true, as reports say that PC was one of the choices for a film with Salman Khan and Atlee, which is not happening anymore.
