Hyderabad, January 7 - Telugu film producer Naga Vamsi came under heavy criticism from Bollywood filmmakers for his comment about Hindi films catering to Bandra and Juhu audiences. His remarks were seen as an insult to the Hindi film industry which has delivered many big blockbusters in recent times. ## After enduring sharp criticism, the Daaku Maharaaj producer has clarified the issue and said in a recent interview with Telugu360 that he never intended to disrespect Bollywood or veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor with whom he indulged in an argument during the recent roundtable interaction. ## Naga Vamsi explained that his remarks stemmed from pride in the achievements of the South Indian film industry, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Hyderabad, January 7 - The mega Pan India blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule starring superstar Allu Arjun is all set to play in theatres with the extended version from director Sukumar's birthday. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. ## On Tuesday (January 7), makers announced the Pushpa 2 Reloaded version will play in theatres on January 17. The reloaded version will have 20 minutes of added footage to the original 200-minute-long theatrical runtime. Chennai, January 7 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action entertainer Kanguva has entered the Oscars 2025 shortlisted film. Directed by Siva, it was one of the most anticipated movies of 2024 but ended up as a massive failure at the box office, grossing a little over 100 crores worldwide. ## Kanguva got heavy criticism from critics and audiences alike but now, it has been included in the Oscars 2025 list among 323 films. Mumbai, January 6 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's war action thriller Sky Force trailer has received a blockbuster response on YouTube and other social media platforms in the first 24 hours of release. The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani, and Abhishek Anil Kapur, and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## The much-anticipated action-packed trailer of Sky Force was launched on January 5 during an event in Mumbai and as expected, it generated huge curiosity among the fans and general audience. According to the official data revealed by the makers, the trailer scored 180 million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours, making it one of the most-watched Indian film trailers. ## On YouTube, the trailer was launched on Maddock Films and Jio Studios' channels on which it generated 57.65 million views combined in the first full day. Mumbai, January 6 - Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is all set to enter the 200 crores net club after a very good New Year opening weekend upon its re-release at the box office. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial re-opened in cinemas on January 3rd and scored approximately 1.20 crores net collection on its first day. It showed a 100% jump on Saturday to collect approximately 2.25 crores net and there was another solid jump of 35% on Sunday for around 3 crores net.## The blockbuster film scored approximately 6.40 crores in its latest re-release run and including last year's limited re-release collection of around 75 lakh, YJHD's total domestic cume reached 195.75 crores net. It earned 188.60 crores in its original run back in 2013.## Last year, a couple of films witnessed a good response in their re-release run and YJHD followed to same. It opened on over 750 shows which increased to around 2200 shows on Sunday. The trend indicates the movie to have a good hold on Monday and is expected to remain for a couple of weeks to come. ## YJHD was declared a blockbuster in its original run and its re-release will make sure it attain what was left in the first place, that is 200 crores net collection. Chennai, January 5 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja missed out on entering the 200 crores club at the worldwide box office despite a superb run in China where it has become the highest-grossing Indian movie since 2018. ## Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, Maharaja has been fantastic on the mainland, finishing with approximately 91.65 crores as the 10th highest-grossing Indian film there. The film was released on November 29 last year in China, and thanks to positive word of mouth, it kept climbing at the box office before running out of gas. ## Earlier, the blockbuster grossed approximately 107.50 crores worldwide and it looked like the China collection would take it past 200 crores gross. However, the film finished with a worldwide total of approximately 199 crores gross, which is nonetheless a blockbuster result. ## Maharaja has earned 83.50 crores gross in India and 115.50+ crores at the overseas box office. Mumbai, January 5 - Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has reacted to the recent comments made by Telugu producer Naga Vamsi on the Bollywood film industry. During a roundtable interaction of filmmakers, Vamsi said that while the South industry is going Pan India, Bollywood filmmakers are making films only for Juhu and Bandra in a seemingly arrogant tone. ## During Sky Force's trailer launch event, producer Dinesh Vijan was asked to react to Vamsi's derogatory remarks. The filmmaker, who has been in top form with back-to-back big successes, made a very dignified response without showing Vamsi and South industry in a bad light. ## Speaking about the same, Vijan said that since the pandemic, there are 5 Hindi films (Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2, Animal, and Stree 2) which has crossed 500 crore net collection which didn't exist earlier. He said that just because Bollywood filmmakers don't speak about or brag about those successes, the fact is that we have 5 huge films (since Covid-19). ## Without gunning down the entire South industry, Vijan said that there might be 1 or 2 people who speak like that but whenever he has gone to South, they (South filmmakers) have been very encouraging. Mumbai, January 4 - After a very good opening of around 1.20 crores net collection, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani scores an almost 100% jump on its second day of re-release. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial blockbuster had over 750 shows on the first day and with demand rising, the shows doubled on its second day at around 1600 shows. The movie minted an approximately 2.25 crores net collection on Saturday, pushing 2 two-day re-release total of the film to around 3.45 crores. ## The film has good pre-sales for Sunday which should mean another good day at the box office. It is looking for a 6+ crores net opening weekend which will take its total collection (including the original run) to around 195 crores and then break into a 200 crore club by next weekend or before. ## There are a couple of new films releasing next weekend, however, the lack of buzz for them might help YJHD to have an extended re-release run till Republic Day. The popularity of Ranbir Kapoor among the young generation is certainly helping the biz and this is expected to continue for a few weeks to come. ## Stay tuned...
