Chennai, October 10 - After the massive success of Jailer last year, superstar Rajinikanth returned to the big screen with the action drama Vettaiyan which was released on October 10 amid much anticipation and is off to a very good start at the box office. ## Vettaiyan is different from a regular commercial entertainer and despite that, the movie has taken a solid start in the home state, Tamil Nadu. According to the early estimates, the film is headed for 20-22 crores gross opening day in the state which can go higher depending on how strong walk-ins are. ## Apart from TN, Vettaiyan is expected to gross 6-6.50 crores in Karnataka and 3.50+ crores in Telugu states. In Kerala, the movie has taken a solid start with an estimated 3.50+ crores while the rest of India gross is expected to be in the range of 1 crore. ## Overall, the film is estimated to score 35-37 crore gross collection at the domestic box office on its opening day which may vary a little bit depending on spot bookings. This is easily the second biggest opening for a Tamil title of the year after Thalapathy Vijay's The GOAT. ## The initial word of mouth seems to be positive for the movie, especially in Tamil Nadu and this should lead to a good opening weekend. Mumbai, October 10 - The box office clash this Diwali between cop action drama Singham Again and horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is getting more intense with each passing day. The trailers of both movies have been released and they generated historic viewership. ## The Singham Again trailer, which was launched on October 7, scored a massive 138 million views in the first 24 hours across social media platforms, and now, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailer has broken this record to become the most-watched Hindi trailer of all time in the first 24 hours. ## T-Series announced on social media that the BB3 trailer, which was launched on October 9, generated 155+ million views across social media platforms. On the T-Series YouTube channel, the trailer scored 46 million views, making it the 6th most Hindi trailer ever in the first 24 hours. ## The Singham Again trailer had recorded over 50 million views on YouTube across 2 channels but BB3 won the race on the other platforms. Hyderabad, October 10 - A little less than two months are still left for the release of the most anticipated Indian movie of the year Pushpa 2 - The Rule but the trade is buzzing with the record-breaking theatrical business deals like never before. ## Starring superstar Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 producers are setting high prices to sell theatrical rights and it seems the distributors are willing to pay to secure rights for different areas. Earlier, there were reports that distributors weren't happy with makers demanding high prices but things have changed a lot over the last few months. ## There is a buzz in Telugu media that the liberal policies regarding shows and ticket prices by the newly formed Andhra Pradesh government have ignited confidence in the buyers who are now willing to take more risk in securing theatrical rights of movies that are potentially huge money spinners. ## According to Track Tollywood, the Nizam area theatrical business is expected to be valued at 80 crores and Ceeded at 30 crores. Overall, the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) business is expected to be valued at approximately 200 crore which is massive. ## Pushpa - The Rule was a surprise box office success in the dubbed Hindi version and now, there is huge anticipation for Pushpa 2 which is likely to emerge as one of the biggest grossers in Hindi. As reported earlier, the theatrical rights of Pushpa 2 are already sold to Anil Thadani of AA Films on an advance basis for an earth-shattering sum of Rs 200 crore which is a record.## Apart from AP-TG and North India region, the blockbuster sequel is expected to fetch record-breaking deals for other regions of the domestic market. Internationally, Pushpa 2 is guaranteed to grab a record deal. In North America, the film's break-even has been valued at $15 million which is record valued business for an Indian title.## The business of Pushpa 2 for all areas, domestic and international territories, is yet to be locked but it is clear that the film's theatrical business will be over 500 crore which is exceptional. Hyderabad, October 10 - The hugely-anticipated Pan India action drama film Pushpa 2 - The Rule, starring superstar Allu Arjun, is set to arrive sooner than expected as the makers have reportedly preponed the film by a day. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 was announced to hit the big screens on December 6 in multiple languages and as per the latest update, it will now be released a day early on December 5 this year. Hyderabad, October 10 - Director Prasanth Varma soared to the limelight after his directorial Hanuman emerged as a massive box-office blockbuster with around 300 crores gross collection. Starring Teja Sajja, Hanuman was the first movie in Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, a superhero franchise. After Hanuman, Varma recently announced the second movie in PVCU with Nandamuri Balakrishna's son, Mokshagna Teja. Wasting no time, the promising filmmaker has now announced the first female-led superhero movie in PVCU with an astonishing poster. The movie titled Mahakali is about Goddess Kali, an invincible warrior, the protector of the righteous, and the ultimate destroyer of evil. The film will be directed by a lady director, Puja Aparna Kolluru. It will be produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the banner of RKD Studios. Mahakali is written by Prasanth Varma, and this will be the third movie in Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. The movie was announced with a poster, showing a cosy moment between the girl and the tiger. The cast and other details are not revealed yet. Hyderabad, October 9 - Following the huge success of RRR, maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli's next film is with superstar Mahesh Babu. Tentatively titled SSMB 29, the movie is touted to be a globe-trotting with the king of things the team has planned for this one. ## The movie has been in the pre-production for some time and the latest development is that it will start rolling in January 2025. Award-winning writer Vijayendra Prasad, who has written all the films directed by Rajamouli and also is his father, said in a recent 'Master Class' session that SSMB 29 shoot will commence in Jan 2025. ## It is an adventure movie set against the backdrop of the Amazon rainforest. Vijayendra Prasad has written the script and has worked on the same for nearly two years. He said that the movie will introduce audiences to a completely new world, one that hasn't been seen in Indian cinema before. ## SSMB 29 will mark the maiden collaboration between Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli. Los Angeles, October 9 - After the box office blockbuster Oppenheimer, maverick filmmaker Christopher Nolan has finalised his next film which will be funded by Universal Pictures.## According to Deadline, Nolan's next will be headlined by Matt Damon and this will mark his third movie with the blockbuster filmmaker after Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023). While the plot details of the movie are kept under wraps, it will have an IMAX release on July 17, 2026.## The shoot of this yet-untitled movie is expected to start in early 2025 and it will reportedly feature many A-list actors to star alongside Matt Damon who now joins the likes of Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy as actors who have worked with Nolan on at least three occasions.## Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's last film Oppenheimer, also backed by Universal Pictures, was released in July 2023 and emerged as a mega box office success, grossing $328.9 million at the North American box office and $975.6 million worldwide. ## Apart from its box office success, Oppenheimer won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. It also won five Golden Globe Awards along with several other accolades.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, October 9 - Superstar Rajinikanth made a grand comeback last year with the mega-blockbuster success of Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The movie made over 600 crores gross worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Indian titles of the year. ## Rajinikanth has now teamed up with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel for an action drama Vettaiyan which is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 10, during Dussehra weekend. The movie carries a decent buzz among the fans and pre-sales are good for the opening day in Tamil Nadu and overseas. ## Meanwhile, Vettaiyan has managed to generate good pre-release theatrical business. In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the movie's theatrical business is valued at 73 crore, according to T2BLive. In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the business is locked at 17 crores while the rest of India theatrical business is valued at 25 crores. ## Apart from the domestic region, the overseas business of Vettaiyan is locked at 45 crores, for the total worldwide business at 160 crores. Hyderabad, October 9 - One of the biggest Indian blockbusters of the year, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD is gearing up for its release in Japan and other international territories with Russia and China in the consideration. ## According to Variety, Nag Ashwin directed Kalki 2898 AD will be released in Japanese cinemas in early 2025 through Twin, the distribution company headed by industry veteran Kabata Keizo. The studio previously released SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR which is currently the highest-grossing Indian title in Japan. ## Prabhas is a popular Indian star in Japan. His Baahubali 2 and Saaho are among the highest-grossing Indian titles in the anime country. If Kalki 2898 AD gets a positive reception, it can repeat the success of those movies. ## Apart from Japan, Kalki is also set for a Russian release, with a dubbed version expected to hit theatres in the coming months. The makers are also exploring the options to release the movie in China which hasn't been a regular international market for Indian movies. ## Produced by C. Mumbai, October 8 - Producer Sohum Shah's folk horror thriller Tumbbad has become a big success in its re-release run. After the dismal show upon its original release in 2018, the movie was re-launched on September 13 this year and since then it has managed to turn things upside down. ## Tumbbad has been re-writing history for a re-release title at the Indian box office. It has become the highest-grossing re-release movie in India by beating Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli. Now, the movie has set a new record on the ticketing platform, Book My Show. ## Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie has sold 1+ million tickets so far on BMS, making it the first re-release movie ever to achieve the feat. At the box office, it has grossed approximately 36 crores so far in 25 days.## Tumbbad was a box office flop in its original release, but thanks to the tremendous response to its repeat run, the movie has managed to overturn the verdict to emerge as a hit.
