Chennai, September 14 - Thalapathy Vijay, arguably the biggest Tamil star, has officially announced his 69th film which is said to be his final movie before his political entry under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.## Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film will be directed by H. Vinoth, marking his maiden collaboration with the superstar. The leading Kannada production house, KVN Productions will produce T69 and it will be the studio's maiden Tamil production. ## Sensational Anirudh Ravichander is on board to compose the music of T69 which has been confirmed to hit the big screens in October 2025. While the other details were not revealed, the movie is expected to start shooting in October this year. ## The makers announced the film on Saturday, September 14 with the first look concept poster with the tagline, "The torch bearer of Democracy", indicating a political drama. Mumbai, September 14 - The critically acclaimed folk horror thriller Tumbbad makes a stunning return to the big screen after 6 years with a much better opening than its original release at the box office. Now, as the movie makes a successful return, the makers have treated fans with exciting news.## Producer Sohum Shah announced on Saturday (September 14) that the sequel to Tumbbad is in development. Mumbai, September 14 - One of the most critically acclaimed folk horror Indian films ever, Tumbbad got re-released on September 13 amid much anticipation and it delivered what was expected from it regarding the box office collection. ## Over the last few months, Bollywood has been following the re-release trend of some classic films that are also doing well at the box office. Sensing the big opportunity and obelizing the public demand, producer Sohum Shah and the team announced the re-release of Tumbbad and they also put efforts into promoting the movie. ## Per estimates, the film scored approximately 1.60 crores net (1.80+ crores gross) collection on its opening day which is more than 2.5X of its original release's first-day collection (65 lakh). Interestingly, the Tumbbad re-release collection beat the opening day numbers of Kareena Kapoor's new Hindi release The Buckingham Murders which managed to score in the range of 1.25 crores net. ## The response to Tumbbad is hardly surprising as it has easily been the most-anticipated Bollywood re-release in recent times. The anticipation for the movie among its target audience led to good pre-sales, followed by a good start at the box office.## Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Tumbbad scored approximately 13.50 crores net (17.25 crores gross) in its original lifetime run at the domestic box office back in 2018, and this collection is expected to be outgrossed by the re-release's second-weekend collection. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, September 13 - Maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's war romance drama Love and War has been postponed to March 2026. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the leading roles. ## Love and War was originally announced for the Christmas 2025 release but due to reasons unknown, it has been pushed back to March 20, 2026, coinciding with the festive season of Eid, Ram Navami and Gudi Padwa. The shoot will commence in October this year. ## The film was announced in January this year and it created a stir with its casting of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. It is said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will begin Love & War by shooting for some sole sequences featuring Ranbir Kapoor and then move on to the friendship portions of RK and Vicky Kaushal. ## Alia Bhatt, who is reportedly playing the role of a jazz singer in the film, will join husband RK and Vicky Kaushal in December/Early January. Vicky and Alia will non-stop shoot for the movie as the duo has reportedly allotted 200 days for the same. It is said that they will indulge in romantic sequences, followed by conflict scenes with Ranbir Kapoor who has solo action scenes along with friendship sequences with Vicky and romance and drama scenes with Alia.## Love and War might clash with Shah Rukh Khan-fronted King which is also reportedly eyeing Eid 2026 release. Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations. As reported earlier, the movie will miss a 2025 release which the makers were originally eyeing, and as per the latest report, it will now be hitting the big screen on Eid 2026. ## If the movie indeed makes it to the Eid 2026 slot, it will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film to release on this particular festival since Chennai Express (2013) which was a blockbuster. ## King is said to be an action thriller, unlike any other film Shah Rukh Khan has done so far. Chennai, September 13 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had an excellent extended first week at the worldwide box office with approximately 340 crores gross collection. This includes 209 crores in India and 131 crores overseas. ## The GOAT performed opposite in the home state, Tamil Nadu and other domestic areas. In TN, the movie minted approximately 143.50 crores gross while the rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 65.70 crores, including 24.75 crores in Karnataka where the movie performed second best after TN. ## At the overseas box office, the Venkat Prabhu's directorial blockbuster was excellent throughout the first week and earned approximately 131 crores, for a worldwide cume of 340 crores gross in 8 days. The GOAT will outgross the final collection of Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 (344 crores gross) at the end of its 9th day to become the 6th biggest Tamil grosser of all time. ## As reported earlier, The GOAT is the second movie of Thalapathy Vijay to cross 300 crores worldwide gross and is currently the second biggest grosser of the actor after Leo (606 crores) which is the second highest-grossing Tamil title, behind only 2.0 (744 crores gross). ## The GOAT is expected to finish as the 5th biggest Tamil grosser by crossing Kamal Haasan's Vikram (414 crores gross). This has made it the biggest 4th week-grosser in Hindi, beating superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (34).50 crores net).
