Mumbai, August 7 - The sequel to Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid has officially been postponed from November 15 of this year due to a tight release schedule. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta who confirmed the development.## Raid 2 was well on track until recently when Ajay Devgn-fronted highly-anticipated cop action drama Singham Again was pushed to Diwali 2024, two weeks before Raid 2's original release. It then became almost impossible to release two films of the actor with a tiny gap of just 2 weeks.## Director Rajkumar Gupta confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that the blockbuster will now be released early next year but the exact date is not yet revealed. The filmmaker said that producers will announce the official release date soon.## Raid 2 stars Ajay Devgn who reprises his role as an IRS officer, Amay Patnaik. In the first movie, Saurabh Shukla played the role of the antagonist but in the sequel, Riteish Deshmukh has replaced him to take on Ajay Devgn. Vaani Kapoor is playing the female lead alongside Gayathiri Iyer, and Rajat Kapoor among others.## In 2018, Ajay Devgn and Raj Kumar Gupta teamed up for the first time for Raid, which is based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s, which distinguished itself from others for being the longest raid in Indian history. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 7 - Earlier this year, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn headlined horror-thriller Shaitaan which is the remake of the Gujarati movie Vash. The movie emerged as a big box-office success which led to speculations about its sequel and now, there is a big update on the same.## According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the script work for Shaitaan 2 has already begun and the makers will announce the movie once the script is locked. There is no update on when the film will go on floors and if the rest of the original cast will return.## Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan was released in March of this year and went on to gross over 200 crores at the worldwide box office. It is currently the second-highest-grossing Bollywood movie and third biggest in Hindi of 2024. ## While the official confirmation is awaited, Shaitaan marks the 8th film franchise to be headlined by Ajay Devgn, which is the most by any Indian actor. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days. This makes it the third most-watched Indian title of 2024 on the streamer, behind only Laapataa Ladies (17.10 million views) and Crew (17.90 million views) and by far the most-watched South Indian title of the year.## Maharaja will most likely become Netflix's top-viewed Indian movie of the year by next week which will be a huge achievement for a regional Indian title after its blockbuster theatrical success. ## Produced by The Route, Think Studios, and Passion Studios, Maharaja was released on June 14 to all-around praise from critics and audiences alike. Mumbai, August 6 - Amid the reports about the casting for the highly-anticipated Border 2, the makers have provided that the announcement of the full cast of the film is not far away. Over the last year, the sequel has been making rounds before makers broke the shackles by officially announcing it in June this year.## The movie was announced with Sunny Deol returning to reprise his role from the first movie, released in 1997. Recently, it was reported that Ayushmann Khurrana and Diljit Dosanjh were in advance talks to join the cast but there hasn't been any official word from the makers yet on the same.## Meanwhile, filmmaker Binnoy K Gandhi, who will reportedly be producing Border 2 with J P Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and T-Series, responded to the reports about the casting in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama while promoting his directorial feature Ghudchadi, which is scheduled to be released on August 9.## While the filmmaker didn't reveal the names, he said "The star cast (of Border 2) will be announced soon. Mumbai, August 6 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, beating megastar Shah Rukh Khan-led 2023's mega-blockbuster Jawan. ## The domestic box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 760 crores gross (640 crores net) in all languages after 40 days, which takes it past the entire run of Jawan's 760 crores gross. At the time of writing this piece, Kalki has surpassed Jawan in terms of both net and gross collection. ## The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD is leading the pack with approximately 350 crores gross (290 crores net), followed by the Telugu version with 335 crores gross while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have grossed around 75 crores so far.## As said, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 will remain the biggest domestic grosser with a mighty 1417 crores gross (1030 crores net), followed by KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR at the second and third with 1001 crores gross (860 crores net), and 916 crores gross (782 crores net), respectively. Mumbai, August 6 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-fronted Son of Sardaar 2 has reportedly dropped actor Sanjay Devgn from its massive ensamble cast due to the visa denial for the United Kingdom. The action comedy is being directed by Vijay Kumar Arora.## The shooting for Son of Sardaar 2 recently commenced in Scotland, the UK with Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur joining the first schedule. According to the latest report by mid-day, Sanjay Dutt was supposed to join the team in the ongoing schedule but has now been dropped due to visa issues.## Mid-Day has reported that Dutt's visa application was rejected because of his incarceration in the past. The actor was unable to procure a UK visa in the past as well. Actor Ravi Kishan, who has been roped in to play a prominent role, has reportedly replaced Sanjay Dutt in the movie.## It is to be noted that the makers of Son of Sardaar 2 haven't officially announced the cast of the movie yet. Hyderabad, August 5 - Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Jr. NTR are teaming up for the first time for an action drama film, tentatively titled Dragon. The film was announced a couple of years back but due to the other commitments of both the director and actor, the development of their maiden collaboration was delayed.## Over the past couple of months, there have been major talks regarding which film would Prashanth Neel be taking among Prabhas-fronted Salaar 2 and NTR-starrer. There were reports that Neel might go ahead with Salaar 2 as Dragon may need more time in the pre-production before taking in on floors.## According to the latest reliable reports, director Neel is proceeding with Jr. NTR and the movie will officially be launched on August 9 with Pooja Ceremony in Hyderabad. Mumbai, August 5 - 20th Century Studios' science fiction horror film Alien: Romulus has averted a mega Independence Day 2024 clash and it will now be released a week later than its domestic (North America) release which is August 16.## Directed by Fede Álvarez, Alien: Romulus, which is the seventh instalment in the Alien franchise, will be released on August 23 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, languages at the Indian box office.
