Mumbai, July 22 - Prathyangira Cinemas has acquired the distribution rights to release Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's hugely-anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2 in North America. The movie is scheduled to be released on August 15 worldwide.## Prathyangira Cinemas has just scored a massive box office success with Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which has grossed $18+ million (150+ crores gross) so far which makes it the second highest-grossing Indian movie in North America. ## Stree 2, which is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, is one of the most-anticipated Bollywood movies and the makers are betting big on the same to deliver at the box office. Hyderabad, July 22 - The box office juggernaut of Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, which started more than three weeks ago, is refusing to slow down though the initial rush has settled down.## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD continues to generate revenue and its consistent run takes it past the magical milestone of 1000 crores at the worldwide box office. In this process, the film has created an epic record in superstar Mahesh Babu-owned theatre, AMB Cinemas. ## According to the official report, Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 100K footfalls (110K approx. in 25 days) in AMB Cinemas which makes it the first movie ever to do so. Mumbai, July 22 - Dharma Production's comedy-drama Bad Newz has had a good first weekend at the domestic box office with approximately 29.75 crores net collection. It is the 5th biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood title and 6th in Hindi in 2024. ## Bad Newz opened to the good collection with approximately 8.30 crores net, followed by a jump of over 20% on Saturday for 10.25 crores, and on Sunday, it collected approximately 11.15 crores net with a jump of around 8%. Mumbai, July 22 - After recently becoming the first animated film franchise to reach $5 billion globally, the sixth overall instalment in the Despicable Me franchise, Despicable Me 4 has surpassed $500 million at the worldwide box office and is heading towards the magical milestone of $1 billion. ## The sequel to Despicable Me 3 (2017), and the fourth main instalment, Despicable Me 4 grossed $75 million worldwide in its 5th weekend which soared its global cume to $574.4 million (4805 crores). This includes $259.5 million (2170 crores) in North America and $314.90 million (2635 crores) overseas. ## Despicable Me 4 has now overtaken the first Despicable Me’s lifetime global haul of $544 million, to become the franchise's fifth-biggest instalment. The latest blockbuster is now being projected to enter the magical box office club of $1 billion globally, and if it gets there, it will be the third film in the franchise, after Minions ($1.1 billion), and Despicable Me 3 ($1 billion) to achieve the feat.## In 2024, only Inside Out 2, another animated blockbuster by Pixar, has crossed the $1 billion mark as it is on the line to become the all-time biggest animated grosser by crossing Frozen II ($1.45 billion). Mumbai, July 21 - Dharma Productions' comedy drama Bad Newz has a good first weekend at the domestic box office with close to 30 crores net mark after a jump of 5%-10% on Sunday.## According to the early estimates, the film scored in the range of 10.75-11.25 crores net collection on its third day/first Sunday, pushing the total collection to around 29.50 crores in 3 days. It is the fifth biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood title of 2024.## The jump on Sunday is pretty flat or limited which is often the case with multiplex movies, plus there is a strong holdover in Kalki 2898 AD which is ruling mass centres as well as multiplex. Bad Newz needs to hold well on its first Monday which is crucial for the sake of its long legs at the box office.## Overall, the opening weekend total of around 30 crores net is respected but the real game for the movie begins on Monday which will determine where it will go. Hyderabad, July 21 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller Game Changer with director S. Shankar has finally locked its release date after being in production for nearly 3 years. It is the actor's first film since the epic blockbuster RRR in March 2022.## Producer Dil Raju, during the Telugu pre-release event of Dhanush's Raayan, delighted the fans by announcing the Game Changer will be hitting the big screen on Christmas 2024, however, the exact date is not yet revealed.## The Christmas 2024 weekend already has a couple of big movies in the lineup in the form of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Sitare Zameen Par and Hollywood biggie, Mufasa: The Lion King along with Varun Dhawan's Baby John and Nithiin's Robinhood. ## Game Changer has been in production since October 2021 but due to director Shankar's other commitments, the shoot of the movie was delayed on many occasions before it finally concluded in July this year. Hyderabad, July 21 - 7 years after scripting box office history with Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion, Pan India superstar Prabhas has done it again as his Kalki 2898 AD has become the 7th Indian movie and the second for the actor to enter the 1000 crores club at the worldwide box office. ## The sci-fi epic, directed by Nag Ashwin, has done what it was expected to achieve before its release on June 27. It took just 25 days for Kalki to breach the milestone of 1000 crores worldwide gross, making it the 3rd Telugu-origin title and 4th South Indian film to do so. ## Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 990 crores gross globally in the first 24 days and on its 4th Sunday (25th day), the movie added another estimated 12 crores gross, taking its worldwide cume to over the magical figure of the thousand crores gross. ## Including the 5th Sunday collection, the epic blockbuster has minted an estimated 733 crores gross in India and 270 crores overseas.
