Chennai, July 15 - Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2 topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend and has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, beating Vijay Sethupathi's actioner Maharaja in just three 3 days.## Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 witnessed a continuous drop over the weekend due to mixed to negative word of mouth, but did enough to cross 100 crores worldwide. In India, the movie grossed an estimated 69+ crores gross and overseas, it minted an estimated 40 crores, for 109+ crores worldwide cume, beating Maharaja (105 crores gross approx.). ## Despite the 100+ crores opening weekend, Indian 2 somehow performed underwhelmingly as it was projected to score 100 crore weekend at the domestic box office alone. The movie's 69 crores domestic collection includes an estimated 35.50+ crores in Tamil Nadu and 17 crores in Telugu states.## Language-wise, the original Tamil version grossed an estimated 48.50+ crores, followed by 16+ crores in Telugu, and 4.50+ crores collection in Hindi. The not-so-encouraging word of mouth did dent the movie's business in all areas.## Indian 2 will need to perform well during the weekdays to emerge a success. Mumbai, July 14 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira has a low first weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 12 crores net which is one of the lowest for the actor in many many years. ## Sarfira opened to poor numbers which proved to be fatal for the movie despite the good jump in the collection. On its first Sunday/third day, the movie scored an estimated 5-5.25 crores net, jumping around 20% from yesterday, for around 12 crores opening weekend. ## These are good collections for a non-star film but for someone like Akshay Kumar along with a top star cast, 12 crores weekend is disappointing. There is an appreciation for the movie but it hasn't been able to covert this into footfalls in large numbers. ## To have some sort of legs at the box office, Sarfira will have to beat the opening-day collection and try to come close to second-day figures of around 4 crores on its make-or-break first Monday. It, however, won't be easy due to competition and a proper working day. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) remained in the similar range as yesterday as estimates suggest the first Sunday collection around 1.30 crores net for approximately 3.80 crores opening weekend in Hindi which is very poor. ## The movie witnessed a drop of around 15% in the collection for all languages on its third Sunday for an estimated 17.50+ crores gross (15+ crores net). All India opening weekend of Indian 2 is around 69+ crores gross (59 crores net) which is underwhelming as there were huge expectations from the film. Hyderabad, July 14 - Pan India superstar Prabhas is currently basking on the mega box office success of his sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD which is heading towards 1000 crores at the worldwide box office. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie has been on a record-breaking ride since its debut on June 27. ## As the movie is running strongly, Prabhas took some time to thank his fans for making Kalki 2898 AD has massive hit. The actor recorded a video message which was shared by Vyjayanthi Films on its social media platform, X. "Hi, how are you? My fans thank you so much for giving me such a huge hit. Los Angeles, July 14 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the second highest-grossing Indian movie at the North American box office after beating Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. The movie was released by Prathyangira Cinemas. ## Starring superstar Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD crossed Pathaan's total collection of $17.45 million on its 17th day to become the second-biggest Indian grosser in North America at $17.50+ million (146+ crores). Kochi, July 14 - One of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of all-time, Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally locked the streaming day after more than 100 days of its theatrical release on March 28. ## Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Blessy, Aadujeevitham will make its streaming debut on Netflix on July 19, in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages, after 113 days of the theatrical run. ## Aadujeevitham was originally supposed to lock a deal with Disney+Hotstar which has been a frequent collaborator for Malayalam movies, but the deal didn't materialize due to some reasons before Netflix grabbed the streaming rights for all versions.## Earlier, the survival thriller ended its box office run as the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the worldwide box office with approximately 157.50+ crores gross which includes 98 crores gross in India and 59.50 crores overseas collection. ## The movie is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, one among thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 14 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 10th Indian movie to top 900 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office after witnessing a massive jump on its third Saturday to score 20+ crores gross worldwide.## Starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD minted an estimated 17.50 crores gross on its 17th day in India, taking its total domestic collection to approximately 670 crores. Overseas, the movie has grossed an estimated 240 crores for worldwide 910 crores in 17 days.## Kalki 2898 AD will become the 7th highest-grossing Indian film of all time at the worldwide box office after its third Sunday (18th day) collection by beating Secret Superstar (913 crores gross approx.), Animal (915 crores gross approx.), and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (922 crores gross approx.). ## The epic blockbuster is still in the race to become the 7th Indian movie to enter the 1000 crores worldwide gross club but the legs during the weekdays are slowing down which might stop it from achieving this milestone. Chennai, July 14 - Veteran Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2, directed by S. Shankar, scored the biggest opening of 2024 for a Tamil movie at the domestic and worldwide box office by a long margin. ## The sequel to the 1996 film Indian, Indian 2 grossed an estimated 30.25 crores in India and 26 crores overseas for 56.25 crores worldwide on opening day. It has beaten Dhanush's Captain Miller, which scored approximately 14 crores on its opening day, to become the biggest Tamil opener of the year.## With the opening day collection, Indian 2 became the 6th highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 at the domestic as well as worldwide box office, and with the second-day box office figures, it has become the third biggest grosser after Maharaja (104 crores gross approx.) and Aranmanai 4 (99 crores gross approx.) worldwide. ## Indian 2 stars Kamal Haasan, reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, leading a massive ensemble which also includes Siddharth, S. Mumbai, July 13 - After the low start, Akshay Kumar's Sarfira witnessed a jump of around 70% on its second day, however, the overall collection remains low due to the poor start which was one of the lowest for the actor in many many years.## According to the early estimates, Sarfira has earned in the range of 4-4.25 crores net on its first Saturday/second day, pushing the total to around 6.50+ crores net in 2 days which is poor collection. The movie needed to score a jump of over 100% today, although it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the lost ground it could have given the movie some sort of momentum. ## The word of mouth for the movie is positive but to say that it will make any positive difference to the overall collection is tough to guess because these kinds of films have been struggling to bring crowds to the theatres in large numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend total is headed to finish around 12 crores net.## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) hasn't seen any growth today as estimates suggest the second-day collection of the dubbed version to be around 1.25 crores net, pushing the total to approx. 2.50 crores net in two days as opening weekend heading for around 4 crores net.## There was some drop in the collection of the Telugu version of the film as the first Saturday estimates for all versions of Indian 2 suggest the collection to be around 20 crores gross (17 crores net) for around 50 crores total domestic gross in two days. Mumbai, July 13 - Shraddha Kapoor's horror-comedy Stree 2 is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and recently released teaser further boosts the hype ahead of the film's release on August 15 on the occasion of the Independence Day. ## As the release date is getting nearer, the makers are now gearing up for the trailer of the movie. As per the latest reports, the much-awaited trailer of Stree 2 will be launched on July 18, Thursday, 4 weeks before the film's official release.## The trailer of the movie will be attached with the prints of Dharma Productions' Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, in theatres from August 19.
