Mumbai, December 24 - SS Rajamouli's directorial and Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2, which was the second Indian movie after its predecessor Baahubali to top 500 crores gross and the first to top 1000 crores domestic gross, is the highest-grossing film at the Indian box office with over 1400 crores. ## Now, superstar Allu Arjun is on the verge of dethroning Baahubali 2 to become the biggest grosser at the Indian box office. Mumbai, July 6 - Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has been announced to release on August 2, 2024. The romantic thriller is directed by Neeraj Pandey and also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar playing pivotal roles. ## Produced by Friday Filmworks, NH Studioz, and Panorama Studios, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was scheduled to be released in July but the makers postponed it to avoid a clash with Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which is performing brilliantly at the Hindi box office. ## As reported earlier, the makers also discussed releasing the film on July 26 but eventually decided on August 2. Chennai, July 6 - One of the most anticipated Tamil movies in the making, superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller film Coolie has started filming on July 5, the makers officially confirmed the development on social media. ## The movie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. As the shoot of the movie has commenced, actress Shruti Haasan has been confirmed as one of the female cast as she will reportedly play the role of Rajinikanth's sister. ## Shruti Haasan herself confirmed her casting in Coolie with a picture from the sets of the film on Instagram which she deleted later. It will be the first time she will star alongside the legendary actor. The first schedule for the film commenced on July 5th at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. ## As known to all, Coolie marks the maiden collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraja who last directed Thalapathy Vijay's Leo in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Hyderabad, July 6 - A biographical documentary Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli on the maverick Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli is set to be premiered on August 2, 2024, on Netflix.## Presented by Anupama Chopra, the documentary will highlight SS Rajamouli's influence on Indian and international cinema, with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Netflix partnered with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios for the same. ## Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli documentary will feature insights on S.S. Hyderabad, July 6 - Another box office milestone unlocked for Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD as it has become the 11th film ever to top 500 crores gross collection at the Indian movie, and first of 2024. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic crossed 500 crores gross in India after scoring another approximately 20 crores on its 9th day, taking the total to an estimated 514+ crores so far. Kalki 2898 AD is the third movie of Prabhas, the second for Deepika Padukone, and the first for Amitabh Bachchan to top this box office milestone while playing a lead role.## The latest blockbuster is currently the 11th highest-grossing title in India and is in touching distance with Prabhas' Baahubali - The Beginning which minted an estimated 516 crores India gross in 2015. Mumbai, July 5 - Kalki 2898 AD starts the second weekend with a solid hold in the Hindi version with the collection not much less than its previous day, which was expected as it is currently the only major movie in theatres. ## The Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic has had a fantastic first week with approximately 162.50 crores net collection in Hindi, and on its second Friday, the movie minted an estimated 9.25-9.75 crores net to take the total to over 171.50 crores in the dubbed version in 9 days. ## Kalki 2898 AD will surpass 200 crores net by the second Sunday on which it will also have a chance to top Fighter to become the biggest Hindi grosser of the year at the domestic box office. It will also be only the 4th South Indian film after Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and RRR, to score a double century in Hindi. ## In all versions, Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 20+ crores on its 9th day, taking a total domestic collection to past 500 crores gross at, 515+ crore in 9 days. Mumbai, July 5 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD inches one step closer to 1000 crores gross after topping 700 crore gross collection on its 9th day at the worldwide box office, becoming the first Indian movie of the year to do so. ## The Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted flick grossed an estimated 709+ crores worldwide, including 514+ crores in India and 195 crores at the overseas box office. It scored an estimated 25+ crores gross on its second Friday (9th day).## Kalki 2898 AD is the second film of Prabhas after Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion to top this box office milestone. Deepika Padukone, who plays the female lead in the movie, also scored his second 700 crore grosser after Pathaan in a lead role. The actress was also a part of Jawan which grossed over 1150 crores worldwide. ## Overall, Kalki is the 12th Indian film and the third Telugu-origin title to top 700 crores globally after Baahubali 2 and RRR, SS Rajamouli directed both. Chennai, July 5 - Lyca Productions' vigilante action film Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan is set to be one of the longest Indian films as CBFC officially censored the much-anticipated Pan India film. Directed by Maverick S. Shankar, it is the sequel to 1996 Indian. ## Indian 2 was censored on July 4 by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a 'U/A' certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 180 minutes and 4 seconds (3 hours). CBFC also suggested some changes, including the replacement of some cuss words, such as "Dirty Indian" to "Indian". ## Produced by Lyca Production, Indian 2 which will be released as Hindustani 2 in Hindi and Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu will see Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. Mumbai, July 5 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, and Sharvari Wagh have officially been confirmed to headline Yash Raj Films' first female-led Spy Universe film, titled Alpha. The film is directed by The Railway Man director Shiv Rawail. ## The movie has been in the news since last year and now, on July 5, Yash Raj Films has announced the official title with a voice teaser and also confirmed the shooting commencement. ## In the teaser, Alia Bhatt can be heard saying, "The first letter of the Greek alphabet... and our program's motto - the first, the fastest, the strongest. Every city is an urban jungle, and in that jungle, the one who will always rule is... Alpha".## Alpha marks a significant shift for the action-packed YRF's Spy Universe series, which has previously centred on male protagonists.
