Hyderabad, April 27 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's legal drama Vakeel Saab is set to be re-released in theatres on May Day. The Venu Sriram's directorial was originally released in April 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. ## According to the latest Telugu media reports, Vakeel Saab will be hitting theatres on May 1st, Wednesday, to make some noise at the box office in the absence of new releases due to the general elections in which Pawan Kalyan himself contesting in one of the seats in Andhra Pradesh. ## Vakeel Saab is the remake of the 2016 Hindi-language film Pink and it also stars Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, and Shruti Haasan in key roles. It is the second highest-grossing film of Pawan Kalyan with a worldwide gross collection of around 137.50 crores. ## The movie received positive reception and despite being PSPK's second highest-grossing, its box office was largely affected by the low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, April 27 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar teamed up with director Mudassar Aziz for a comedy entertainer Khel Khel Mein which marks the actor's return to this space after nearly 5 years. The movie is said to be a situational comedy revolving around the lives of 3 couples. ## The shoot of Khel Khel Mein has been wrapped up and now, according to a report by Pinkvilla, the makers have locked the September 6, 2024, release date for the same. The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Amy Virk, and Pragya Jaiswal and will be released during Akshay Kumar's birthday week. ## "It's a situation comedy and the makers will open up the plot with their assets over the coming few months, leading to the theatrical release on September 6", says the report. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's next release is Sudha Kongara-directed, Sarfira, which is scheduled to be released on July 12. Hyderabad, April 26 - The highly-awaited Pan India movie Kalki 2898 AD starring superstar Prabhas is set to get its official release date tomorrow, April 27, as confirmed by the makers. Ahead of the official announcement, the release date was reportedly revealed online. ## According to the latest media reports, it is said that the sci-fi epic will be debuting in worldwide theatres on June 27, in multiple languages. It was supposed to be released on May 9 but was postponed due to the general elections in the country. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD will be released two weeks after another big Pan India movie, Indian 2 starring Legendary Kamal Haasan. It is due to hit the big screens on June 14 in multiple languages. Mumbai, April 26 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's sports biopic Maidaan may have bombed at the box office but his supernatural thriller Shaitaan is still minting money and emerged as a box office super hit in India and worldwide. ## The Vikas Bahl's directorial was released on March 8 and has completed 7 weeks in theatres. Showing incredible legs, the movie scored around 1 crore net collection in its 7th week which pushed the total collection to around 146.75 crores (174.65 crores gross) in 49 days. ## Shaitaan is expected to finish around 148 crores net collection in India which makes it 6th biggest domestic grosser for Ajay Devgn while second best for R. Madhavan and biggest for Jyothika. Overseas, it has grossed around 37.50 crores for a worldwide total of 212+ crores. ## Shaitaan is the second highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year after Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (359 crores) at the worldwide box office. Chennai, April 26 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama Ghilli re-release box office collection has crossed 20 crores gross worldwide in 7 days after the excellent Wednesday in India and overseas. ## On Thursday, the blockbuster film scored an estimated 1.25-1.40 crores gross in India, pushing the total collection to over 14.50 crores in 6 days. The movie opened in the United Kingdom with a sensational 55 lakh which pushed the overseas collection to around 5.25 crores gross. ## Ghilli, after 6 days of its re-release, has earned over 19.75 crores at the worldwide box office and has crossed the 20 crores gross mark with today's collection. The 55 lakh opening of the film in the UK is the biggest for any Tamil movie in 2024, beating Captain Miller (50 lakh). ## The movie has a competition with Vishal's Rathnam which has been released today. Mumbai, April 26 - The new releases of last week, Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhokha failed to make any impact at the box office to turn disastrous, joining Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan from the previous week. ## The Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy starer romantic-comedy film scored an estimated 3.30 crores net collection in the first week while LSD 2 minted around 1 crore net. Both the movies couldn't generate any buzz to stand a chance at the box office. ## The last couple of weeks have seen one of the lowest turnarounds in theatres for films featuring notable actors. The previous week saw BMCM and Maidaan, two huge budgeted films, turning into disasters and leaving the industry in shock. ## The next few weeks will be no different due to the absence of notable releases. Mumbai, April 25 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's fronted action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has crossed 100 crores at the worldwide box office but it is not a chest-thumping achievement due to the poor progress in reaching the mark. ## Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has taken 14/15 days to reach 100 crores worldwide, a target which should have been achieved in the opening weekend itself but the chances were dismissed after the below-average start. ## The movie has grossed around 69 crores at the domestic box office and an estimated 31 crores overseas. BMCM is the 6th Bollywood film of 2024 to hit 100 crores worldwide and for Akshay Kumar, it is his first of 2024 and 3rd movie since the covid-19 pandemic. Chennai, April 25 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli is showing excellent consistency at the box office since its re-release on April 20. After the excellent first two days, the sports action drama has no to minimum drop during the working weekdays. ## On its first Wednesday (5th day), Ghilli showed no drop and grossed another around 1.50 crores gross collection, pushing total domestic collection to around 13.25 crores in just 5 days. It is currently the 6th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 in the domestic market. ## At the worldwide box office, the blockbuster film has crossed 17 crores gross mark, making it the 6th highest-grossing Tamil movie of the year. The movie could double up this total if it remains in theatres for a few weeks which will truly be a remarkable achievement to score. ## As said earlier, the absence of notable new releases is making Ghilli the first choice of moviegoers in the home market despite being the 20-year-old title. Mumbai, April 25 - Amid the steady decline in the popularity of digital platforms and to challenge other platforms in India, Mukesh Ambani's JioCinema on April 25 announced a significant two-third reduction in prices for its premium services for Indian customers. ## According to Mint, JioCinema premium subscription will now be available for as low as Rs. 29 per month for a single device and Rs. 89 per month for four devices in India. Previously, the platform offered its premium service at ₹99/month or ₹999/annually for streaming on up to four devices simultaneously. ## The new monthly subscription plan of Jio Cinema is almost 10X lower than the second-lowest Amazon Prime Video and Sony Liv which offer the premium plan at Rs. 299/month. Netflix, which is already facing difficulties in making a big impact in India, has the costliest premium plan Rs. 649/month. ## The new JioCinema plan includes online and offline viewing, in 4K quality, for foreign movies, TV series and kids' programming on any device in five languages.
