Mumbai, April 12 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana is shaping up to be a global phenomenon with every development around it. In India, the film is already a hot topic with its casting along with Kannada superstar Yash coming on board to co-produce and starring in it. ## Producer Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus is working day and night to make Ramayana a global force and according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the filmmaker is in talks with Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Pictures to take the movie to worldwide audiences. ## "The deal (with Warner Bros.) is being negotiated not just to get monetary support for the project but also to ensure collaboration with the right partners on the distribution and marketing front in international markets up to the film’s release. Kochi, April 12 - 2024 is turning into a breakout year for Malayalam cinema which is again on the verge of scoring two more blockbusters at the box office in the form of Aavesham and Varshangalkku Shesham after their big opening day globally. ## Aavesham, an action drama starring Fahadh Faasil in the lead role, was released on Eid day and took full advantage of the national holiday by grossing approximately 10.50 crores at the worldwide box office, making it the biggest start for the talented actor. ## In India, the movie minted approximately 4.20 crores gross while the overseas collection is 6.30 crores, led by the Gulf region which is truly phenomenal. The movie is still in the early days but is showing all the signs of being a huge worldwide success, thanks to the unanimous positive talk. ## Another Malayalam film which opened hugely is the romantic comedy-drama Varshangalkku Shesham. Starring Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Kalyani Priyadarshan among others, the movie's opening day worldwide collection is not far behind that of Aavesham. ## The Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial movie grossed approximately 10.10 crores, including 3.55 crores in India and 6.50 crores overseas. Mumbai, April 12 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released on the Eid holiday but performed underwhelming at the box office. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie scored an estimated 15.50 crores net collection in Hindi. ## Eid has been one of the biggest days for the Bollywood box office but BMCM failed to seize the opportunity by not being able to generate enough buzz to score big on the day. Despite featuring an A-List star cast and a blockbuster director, the movie couldn't even make it to the top 10 biggest Eid holiday collections. ## There was Ajay Devgn's Maidaan also released but it also performed poorly, earning just around 4.50 crores net. Mumbai, April 12 - Kannada superstar and producer, Yash has officially joined director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana. The actor-filmmaker's Monster Mind Creations will co-produce with Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios to bring this epic to global audiences. ## The upcoming adaptation of Ramayana is touted to be a dream project, not just for the talent involved but for Indian cinema overall. Apart from co-producing the film, which will be turned into a trilogy, Yash is also playing one of the main roles. ## Yash said in a statement (via Variety), "It has been my long-term aspiration to make films that will showcase Indian cinema on a global level. In pursuit of that, I was in L.A. to ally with one of the best VFX studios, and to my amazement, the driving force behind it was a fellow Indian. Namit and I had various ideation sessions, and coincidentally, our synergy on the vision for Indian cinema aligned perfectly".## "We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of ‘Ramayana’ came up. Namit had a part of it in the works. The ‘Ramayana,’ as a subject, deeply resonates with me and I had an approach in my mind for it. Pictures' biggest trailer launch in recent years, perfectly setting the stage for its big theatrical debut in October 2024, per Variety.## Among the trailers launched in 2024, the Joker sequel is behind only Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine, which was launched during Super Bowl Sunday with massive 365 million views.
