Ribas, a well-rounded fighter known for her grappling skills, will be a tough opponent for Namajunas. ## UFC Fight Night: Ribas vs Namajunas Ongoing Results ## Main card (ESPN / ESPN+) ## Women's Flyweight: Amanda Ribas vs. Rose Namajunas ## ROUND 1: Rose Namajunas edged out a close first round against Carla Esparza. Both fighters came out tentative, circling each other and testing the waters with jabs. Namajunas landed the first significant strike, a straight left, but Ribas countered with a flurry of calf kicks and stance switches.## The round continued with a frenetic pace. Ribas displayed energetic movement but was caught by a dipping right hand from Namajunas. Ribas responded by clinching and attempting a takedown, but Namajunas defended well and landed some knees to the body while trapped against the fence.## Ribas continued to fight with constant movement, landing a right hook that stunned Namajunas momentarily. However, Namajunas answered back with a left of her own. Ribas secured another takedown, but Namajunas displayed impressive grappling skills, rolling through and taking top position with 90 seconds remaining in the round.## Namajunas controlled the rest of the round, smothering Ribas with her right elbow and chipping away with strikes. Ribas attempted to create space with elbows but ultimately seemed content to defend and survive the round from her back. ## ROUND 2: The second round started with Ribas throwing a pair of kicks to the body, but Namajunas quickly established her circling movement and landed a right hand followed by left overhand punches. Despite absorbing the shots well, Ribas struggled to find her range.## A spinning back kick from Ribas landed on Namajunas's body, but Namajunas maintained good posture. Namajunas then opted for a more cautious approach, aiming for single shots at range while Ribas kept busy with hand movements and leg kicks.## Ribas attempted two headlock tosses, but Namajunas displayed good defense, escaping both attempts and ending the round in dominant top position. ## ROUND 3: The first two rounds were a display of contrasting styles. Ribas, known for her frenetic energy, constantly pressured Namajunas, while Namajunas used her jab and footwork to control the distance and land counterstrikes. Ribas even attempted a head kick that Namajunas narrowly avoided.## The third round saw a shift in momentum. Namajunas started landing more consistently, including a well-timed body kick reminiscent of Lyoto Machida's style. Despite this, Ribas remained undeterred, pressuring Namajunas and eventually securing a takedown with a bodylock. However, Namajunas displayed impressive grappling skills, scrambling free and preventing Ribas from establishing dominance.## The fight continued with both fighters exchanging positions in the clinch. Ribas managed to land two throws, the first a headlock toss and the second putting her in top half guard. Namajunas showed great resilience, escaping both positions and even landing some elbows while scrambling. Despite a brief scare where Ribas almost secured a back mount, Namajunas held on to win the round and the fight. ## ROUND 4: In a close-fought battle, Rose Namajunas emerged victorious after a three-round fight against Michelle Ribas. The fight saw a shift in momentum throughout, with Ribas bringing high activity in the early rounds, but Namajunas landing the cleaner shots.## Ribas started strong, keeping Namajunas on the defensive with her constant movement. However, Namajunas weathered the storm and began to find her rhythm, landing sharp jabs and rights throughout the fight.## The final round was particularly close, with both fighters trading blows until the very end. ## ROUND 5: The first three rounds were tightly contested, with both fighters showcasing their striking prowess. Ribas displayed aggression, but Namajunas countered with clean technique and movement. The fourth round was a pivotal turning point, with Namajunas showcasing sharp jabs and a takedown that seemed to sway the judges.## Despite Ribas landing more strikes according to the stats, the judges ultimately favoured Namajunas' accuracy and control throughout the fight. Santos Escobar Confirms Dominik Mysterio Is Not A New Member Of Legado Del Fantasma

BY JITU JANGIR

Dominik Mysterio's surprise appearance on this week's SmackDown has fans buzzing about his future in WWE. ## During a match between Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar, Dominik interfered, helping Escobar secure the win. This twist comes despite Dominik being a member of the Raw brand's Judgment Day stable, led by Rhea Ripley. ## In a post-show interview, Escobar clarified that Dominik is not joining Legado Del Fantasma, his own faction. Their alliance stemmed from a shared dislike for Rey Mysterio, according to Escobar. ## “The stipulation was no LDF, and no LWO. Last time I checked, ‘Dirty Dom’ is Judgment Day. He’s not Legado Del Fantasma, he’s not LWO. But the one thing we have in common is that we both hate Rey Mysterio.” ## Dominik's betrayal of his father originally unfolded in September 2022 at Clash at the Castle. The two even clashed at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year, with Rey Mysterio emerging victorious. ## This latest development has WWE fans speculating about a potential inclusion of a new storyline involving these characters at WrestleMania 40. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Stone Cold, The Undertaker, And John Cena: WWE Legends Eyed For WrestleMania 40

BY JITU JANGIR

WrestleMania, WWE's grandest stage, is known for bringing together the biggest names in the industry, both present and past. This year's 40th anniversary event promises to be no different, with rumors swirling about the potential involvement of three legendary figures: Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and John Cena. ## According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there's a strong belief within WWE that these icons will all have a role to play at WrestleMania 40, taking place in Philadelphia on April 6th and 7th. However, the exact nature of their participation remains shrouded in mystery. ## "Nothing is official," Meltzer reports, "but the belief right now is that Steve Austin, Undertaker and John Cena will have something at WrestleMania in some form. At press time, there is no creative locked in for Cena and Austin at this moment, or if there is it's a well-guarded secret." ## Meltzer highlights that their involvement hinges on their willingness and compensation. In particular, John Cena's potential physical limitations are a factor, as his movie commitments may restrict his ability to perform a high-impact match. ## The prospect of these legends returning to the WrestleMania spotlight has the potential to electrify the WWE Universe. Steve Austin, known for his brash attitude and iconic "Stone Cold Stunner," hasn't wrestled a full match since 2003. The Undertaker, an embodiment of the supernatural, retired in 2020 after a staggering 30-year career. John Cena, a 16-time world champion, has transitioned to Hollywood in recent years but continues to make sporadic WWE appearances. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

The Rock's Recent Use Of Edgier Language On WWE TV Has Stirred Up Controversy, Bringing Accusations Of Double Standards

BY JITU JANGIR

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's recent return to WWE has sparked controversy over his use of language on television. While the company maintains a PG rating, The Rock's promos have featured profanity, leading to accusations of double standards. ## Fans of The Rock's earlier, more edgy character may enjoy his unfiltered promos. However, this clashes with the WWE's current content guidelines. The issue has reignited memories of the "Vince McMahon era," where certain stars were seemingly given free rein. ## Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests The Rock's influence, including his position on the Board of Directors, allows him to bend the rules. He's also backed by a team that deals with potential network censorship. This has caused resentment among other wrestlers who must strictly adhere to the PG guidelines. ## Despite The Rock's claims of network pushback, FOX reportedly receives his scripts beforehand for potential censorship during broadcasts. This targeted approach further fuels accusations of favoritism. ## The Rock's recent "Rock Concert" segment also drew criticism for exceeding its allotted time. While his writer denies it impacted other parts of the show, some believe it resulted in cuts elsewhere. ## The Rock's return has undeniably brought excitement, but the language controversy casts a shadow. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Goldberg: 'There Are Guyst That Go Off Script All The Time, I Was Probably One Of Them'

BY JITU JANGIR

In the scripted world of professional wrestling, WWE strives for a tightly controlled narrative. However, wrestlers occasionally veer off course, creating unscripted moments that leave a lasting impression. ## Back in the day, wrestlers enjoyed more creative freedom, leading to frequent instances of improvisation. Today, with a more scripted approach, going off-script is a risky move. Wrestlers who deviate from the plan often face backstage heat or even punishment, unless they hold significant star power. ## Despite the potential consequences, several wrestlers have taken the chance in recent years, resulting in some memorable segments. ## Goldberg recently had an interview with Tim Green - Nothing Left Unsaid, and was asked if he has ever gone off the script. ## Yeah, well, there are guys that go off script all the time, I was probably one of them. I went off script because I couldn't remember it, not because I wanted to. And that happened a number of times with me. But there were a couple of guys along the way that weren't so happy about laying down for a guy that's been in the business for a short period of time. That comes with the territory, I understand it to a point. ## But at the end of the day, it is kind of fixed, right? So it's not like doing a true athletic competition where you're actually gonna lose. I guess kind of like Romo at the end of The Longest Yard, he didn't want to get run over by Adam Saddler, but it's a movie, right? It's a movie, it's not real. So, um, there were guys along the way, a couple of them, but they came to it in the end. But, you know, like again, you're going to have people that are in your corner or against you, wanting to see you succeed or wanting to see you fail, it's just life. ## Yeah, the guys who get to choose are the Vince McMahon's and the, um, who did I just, what was his name? Eric Bischoff, Eric Bischoff, I see, you know, even more than I do, yeah, Bischoff and Vince get to decide. At the end of the day, it's the most popular, it's whoever's gonna draw the most money, whether it's a good guy or a bad guy, it's all storyline-oriented and it's all fictitious and it's all in the direction they want to lead you.## But some guys can do it and some guys can't. I can't really put a finger on it, but I would go out there and wrestle like there was no one there. I'd go out and do my job and I'd try to do it to the best of my ability. And if people enjoy it, great. If they don't, I'm sorry because you can't please everybody. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Goldberg Unhappy About WWE 'Disrespecting' His Streak And Spear

BY JITU JANGIR

Former WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg isn't shy about his frustrations with the company. In a recent interview with Nothing Left Unsaid, Goldberg took aim at WWE for what he perceives as disrespect towards his legacy. ## The most glaring issue for Goldberg seems to be Asuka's undefeated streak in NXT surpassing his own WCW record. Goldberg referred to Asuka dismissively as "some Japanese girl" and questioned the timing of her streak ending just as he returned to WWE in 2016. ## “A girl beat my winning streak… beat my undefeated streak. Yeah, I can’t even remember… ‘A-soo-ka’ is her name. Some Japanese girl. And they touted her as being the one to have the longest winning streak." ## Goldberg went further, implying WWE management, specifically Triple H (Paul Levesque), played a role in both Asuka's streak and the increased use of the Spear finisher by other wrestlers. Goldberg has a history of tension with Triple H, and blames their past for these perceived slights. ## "The fact that I didn’t get along with Paul Levesque (Triple H), which is Vince’s son-in-law, I think had everything to do with it." # Whether intentional or not, Goldberg's comments are sure to stir the pot. Fans can expect further discussion on the validity of Goldberg's claims and the working relationship between him and WWE. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...
