Actor Vijay Sethupathi has hinted that he is withdrawing from the former Sri Lankan cricketer, Muthiah Muralidharan's biopic, "800". Ever since the film has announced, several political parties and Tamil nationalist sympathizers along with many popular personalities from the Tamil film industry have claimed that the movie is an attempt to whitewash a figure who is problematic in Sri Lanka, and thus, they have been asking for a boycott of the film. ## In a statement on Monday, Muralidharan said he had asked Vijay Sethupathi to withdraw from the project to ensure the actor's career is not affected by the association. Muralitharan said that the film was facing hurdles as he had in many aspects of like. But he said that he was confident the hurdles would be overcome. ## Sharing the statement of the cricketer, Sethupathi hinted that he has accepted his proposal of withdrawing from the film. I then thought that the film would highlight the struggle of my parents, the contribution of my coaches and teachers, and everyone who has been part of my journey. My family had its humble beginnings in a tea estate in Sri Lanka. The most affected in the 30-year long civil war in Sri Lanka was the Hill Country Tamils. Our life began in a conflict zone", he said.## "The film '800' talks about how I overcame all these hurdles and managed to succeed in cricket. Is it my fault that I was born a Sri Lankan Tamil? If I was born in India, I would have definitely tried to be part of the Indian team. Since I am part of the Sri Lankan team, I have always been misunderstood. Aditya Chopra's directorial debut, and an all-time blockbuster movie, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will be marking 25 glorious years of its release on October 20. The film which released in 1995 is the longest-running Indian film in theatres. This Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer is considered a cult classic which left a distinct impression on the hearts of the viewers. ## When the film completed its 20 years of release, SRK and Kajol hosted an event to celebrate this film at Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai where the film has been running for more than two decades. ## Now, as DDLJ is completing 25 years, a bronze statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is set to be unveiled in London to celebrate the silver jubilee of the film. The statue will be put to display at Leicester Square as a part of 'Scenes in the Square' movie trail. ## Talking about the statue, Mark Williams, the destination marketing director of Heart of London Business Alliance told MidDay, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the most successful Hindi films of all time, and this statue is a fitting tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood".## UPDATE... After Simmba, the actor-director duo of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty are coming together again for a comedy film titled Cirkus. Ranveer will enact his first-ever double role in the film which is Shetty's take on William Shakespeare's classic play The Comedy of Errors.## Cirkus will be produced and directed by Rohit Shetty while Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment have presented the film. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the movie will also star Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma in the key roles along with Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, Murli Sharma, and others.## The movie will go on floors next month and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa. One of the prominant stars of the Tollywood film industry, Ravi Teja is all set to enact duel roles in his next Telugu film titled, Khiladi. ## Apart from 'Khiladi' Ravi Teja, the film will star Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead and Dimple Hayathi as the second lead while the rest of the cast will be announced soon. ## The shooting will begin next month in November.## #RaviTeja to play dual roles in #Telugu film #Khiladi... It will be Ravi Teja's 67th film of his career.## Ravi Teja recently resumed shooting for Gopichand Mallineni's masala flick Krack, which will see Shruti Haasan as the female lead along with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Samuthirakani. He even shot for a special number recently with Apsara Rani.## Fondly called as mass maharaja, the actor was last seen in the science fiction action film, Disco Raja, directed by Vi Anand.
