Hyderabad, April 8 - Superstar Allu Arjun's cult classic Arya 2 was re-released on April 5 to celebrate the actor's birthday, which is on April 8. The movie was directed by Sukumar, with whom the Icon star has done 4 films, including the all-time blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule. ## The re-release of Aarya 2 is like most of the Telugu re-releases, which are mostly for the celebrations and charitable purposes, hence they attract a decent number of audiences to theatres for a couple of days which generates good business. ## On the first day of re-release, Arya 2 scored around 4 crore gross collection at the worldwide box office, and in the next 2 days, it brought around 1.25 crores gross for 5.25 crores in 3 days, which is a fantastic collection for a momentary release title.## Arya 2 was a box office success in its original run and went on to become a cult classic due to its immense popularity on television. Los Angeles, April 6 - Hollywood has woken up again to banish the box office blues, thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures' video game adaptation A Minecraft Movie. ## Starring Jason Momoa, the fantasy adventure comedy film, based on the 2011 video game Minecraft, has shattered records at the domestic (North America) and worldwide box office to score the biggest opening weekend ever for a live-action video game adaptation title. ## Made on a budget of $150 million, Minecraft struck gold with a record-shattering $163 million opening domestically, the biggest for a video game adaptation, beating The Super Mario Bros Movie's $146.4 million. It scored the best 3-day opening weekend start since Deadpool and Wolverine in July last year. ## Overseas, the film minted a huge $150.70 million in the 5-day weekend over 74 markets, pushing total opening to $313.70 million, which is the best live-action and second-best video game adaptation, only under The Super Mario Bros Movie's $377 million.## The film has come much higher than even the most optimistic industry projection to stun the Hollywood trade. Warner Bros. Pictures had projected a $135 million start, now history with record-shattering numbers. Mumbai, April 6 - Actress Priyanka Chopra is making her big Indian cinema comeback with maverick director SS Rajamouli and superstar Mahesh Babu's next, tentatively titled SSMB 29. The shoot for the same has already started and the makers will soon announce the film officially. ## Meanwhile, rumours have been making the rounds that PC is also a part of director Atlee's film with superstar Allu Arjun. While the fans are rejoicing at the reports, according to Pinkvilla, the Mary Kom star is not in the film; in fact, she never was approached for the same. ## The rumours, however, might have been partially true, as reports say that PC was one of the choices for a film with Salman Khan and Atlee, which is not happening anymore. But as of now, she is not doing an Allu Arjun-fronted film, which is officially getting announced on April 8. ## A6 will be produced by Sun Pictures and will reportedly be made on a budget of over 500 crores. With this film, Allu Arjun has become the highest-paid actor of Indian cinema as he has reportedly charged 175 crores remuneration, plus a profit share.## Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, has multiple films in the pipeline. Mumbai, April 6 - Over the last year or so, there have been reports about the 4th installment of the action thriller franchise Race being in the making, and now, the makers have confirmed that Race 4 is indeed in the making and will begin filming soon. ## It has been reported that Saif Ali Khan will make his comeback in the franchise after missing out on Race, and the actor to join him in the upcoming film is Sidharth Malhotra, who is going to be the newest addition to the blockbuster franchise. ## Meanwhile, there were a lot of rumours regarding the casting of the female leads and other actors of the film, but the makers have denied all the rumours. Producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films released a statement addressing the casting rumours of Race 4 while confirming that the movie is in the scripting stage. ## "We would like to clarify that we are currently in discussions only with Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra for the next installment of the Race franchise, which is currently in its scripting phase. No other male or female actors have been approached at this stage. We sincerely request that the media and social media pages avoid engaging with false news and wait for an official confirmation from our PR team", the statement reads. ## The third installment, Race 3, was released in 2018 with superstar Salman Khan as the lead. Kochi, April 5 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan has become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time after beating last year's mega blockbuster Manjummel Boys in just 9 days at the worldwide box office. ## The sequel to the 2019 movie Lucifer, Empuraan has grossed approximately 241.50+ crores worldwide, including 106.50+ crores domestically through the second Friday. It has beaten the lifetime total of Manjummel Boys, which scored 241 crores in 2024. ## Empuraan is currently the third biggest Mollywood grosser in India after 2018 (110.50 crores gross) and Aadujeevitham (167.50 crores), while it is by far the biggest grosser at the overseas box office with 135+ crores, which is nearing double the second best Manjummel Boys (73.40 crores). ## Among the biggest grossers of the year, Empuraan is currently in third place behind Sankranthiki Vasthunam (255+ crores gross) and Chhaava (800+ crores gross) globally. It will top 250 crores gross and is also expected to beat Sankranthiki Vasthunam by tomorrow to become the number 2 grosser.## L2 is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Sree Gokulam Movies. Hyderabad, April 5 - Superstar Ram Charan is looking for a big comeback with Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana's rustic sports action drama Peddi. The film is currently in production, and the makers are set to unveil the first look glimpse, titled Peddi First Shot, on April 6. ## Ahead of the glimpse, the release date of the movie has been revealed. According to the latest Telugu media reports, Peddi will hit the big screens on Ram Charan's 41st birthday, on March 27, 2026, in multiple languages, and the same was confirmed with the first look glimpse teaser. ## The film will have a clash with Nani's The Paradise, which is scheduled to be released on March 26 and is one of the most anticipated Telugu movies of the next year. It is directed by Srikanth Odela, and the makers recently unveiled the first look teaser which met with a unanimous positive reception. ## Peddi is an important movie for Ram Charan, as his last film, Game Changer, performed poorly at the global box office. Hyderabad, April 6 — Telugu superstar Jr. NTR has confirmed his future film line-up during the success celebrations of Telugu comedy Mad Square, which featured his brother-in-law, Nithin, as one of the main leads. The RRR star was invited as the chief guest for the event, where he confirmed his next four films. ## It is known to all that Jr. NTR is presently shooting for Prashanth Neel's action drama, tentatively titled Dragon, along with his big Bollywood debut under Yash Raj Films, War 2, a spy action thriller which also stars Hrithik Roshan and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, the Telugu superstar reaffirmed Devara 2, to be directed by Koratala Siva, amid the endless rumours. The actor stressed that the second part of his 2024 hit will definitely be made, and the shoot for the same will start after Dragon. ## There have been rumours that Jr. NTR will team with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar for an action drama film. While the actor didn't mention the director's name, he confirmed a film with producer Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainment. The media reports have confirmed that the film in question will be directed by Nelson. ## As has been confirmed during the Mad Square success bash, Jr. NTR has at least 4 films lined up. War 2 is slated to hit the screens on August 14 this year, while Dragon is likely to release on Sankranthi 2026. Chennai, April 4 - The box office battle of North vs South officially has a date!## Indian box office will breath fire when two of the biggest films of the year, Coolie and War 2 will take on each other during the Independence Day 2025 weekend after former confirmed its arrival on August 14 in multiple languages to meet the YRF biggie which is already locked for the same date. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie stars superstar Rajinikanth in the title role alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR and Monisha Blessy in prominent roles while Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan plays a crucial cameo. ## While Coolie will be a dominant force in South, Yash Raj Films' War 2 will look to dominate both North and South as it stars Telugu superstar Jr. NTR and Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. Mumbai, April 4 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's historical biographical drama Kesari: Chapter 2 is set to storm the big screen on April 18 and ahead of the much-awaited release, the trailer was launched on April 3 during an event in Delhi amid a rousing reception. ## The trailer of the film met with a thunderous response with unanimous praise all around. The trailer scored one of the highest viewership for an Indian movie of the year as makers officially announced that it generated 130+ million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours. ## On YouTube, the blockbuster promo scored 20.70 million views with over 263K likes in the first full day. It has been trending on YouTube India among the top spots as it is easily one of the most appreciated trailers of the year. ## Kesari 2 is directed by debutante Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. A spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Kesari, the movie is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire.## The film is based on the life of C Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who fought for the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in which as many as 1650 people were killed. Kochi, April 4 - Superstar Mohanlal's action thriller L2: Empuraan has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming only the 4th Malayalam movie of all-time to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan scored approximately 4.50 crores gross collection on its 8th day, which took its total to around 103 crores gross domestically. The collection includes approximately 71.50 crores gross in the home state, Kerala. ## Empuraan is the 4th Malayalam film after Manjummel Boys (167.50+ crores gross), 2018 (110.50 crores gross), and Pulimurugan (100 crores gross), and the second for Mohanlal to score the milestone of 100 crores gross in the domestic market.## The film might become the biggest Mollywood grosser in India, but for that to happen, it needs to perform strongly outside Kerala, which hasn't happened due to mixed word of mouth. The controversy surrounding the films hasn't helped it much either, as it has minted around 31 crores in the rest of India market in 8 days. ## Meanwhile, Empuraan is nearing the top Manjummel Boys (241 crores) at the global box office to become the biggest Malayalam grosser of all time.
