Mumbai, February 13 - Vicky Kaushal reunited with director Laxman Utekar after the success of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke for the historical action drama Chhaava, based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles along with others. ## Chhaava is one of the biggest Bollywood historical action drama films and is set to take possibly the biggest start in this genre. Slated to hit the big screens on February 14, the movie was censored with a U/A certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Chhaava is expected to be released on over 3500 screens and the pre-sales for the same is fantastic, added by allegedly some share of self-bookings. Even without it, the bookings are easily the best for a Bollywood title of the year. ## As of 8 PM on February 13, the film has sold around 400K tickets worth over 11 crores gross collection for the opening day. The final sales can finish around 13 crores, setting the stage for a big opening. These sorts of pre-sales can drive the opening of close to 25 crores net which will put the film as number 1 in the historical genre. ## Chhaava is expected to perform strongly in the Maharastra region due to the regional feel and the pre-sales are also driven by this region. The opening of the film may differ depending on the performance in other parts of the country but at this point, it looks like a 23-25 crores net opener which is fantastic. ## The trade is expecting Chhaava to explode in Maharastra to emerge big success if word of mouth is positive. Mumbai, February 13 - Legendary director Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar re-release has proved to be a masterstroke for Warner Bros. Pictures as the movie has become the highest-grossing Hollywood re-release grosser at the Indian box office. ## The film, starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, was re-released in Indian cinemas on February 7 for a limited period of just 7 days. This short run proved to be enough for the movie to beat the maverick director James Cameron's all-time great Titanic 3D re-release gross collection of 18 crores. ## In the 6 days so far, Interstellar has grossed approximately 18+ crores, making it the number 1 Hollywood repeat title in India. In its original release back in 2014, the film was a big success with a gross collection of around 42 crores or $6.85 million (without adjusting to inflation), according to Box Office Mojo. ## At the worldwide box office, Interstellar has grossed $759.4 million, including $681 million in its original run. Mumbai, February 13 - Producer Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandon Entertainment has a blockbuster line-up with some of the biggest Bollywood stars. The first for the filmmaker has superstar Salman Khan-fronted action drama Sikdanar, directed by AR Murugadoss. ## Sikandar has been shaping up really well and is scheduled to hit the big screens on Eid this year. Next up for the producer is superstar Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5. According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the movie is gearing up for a June 6 release, amid the rumours of postponement. ## The report reveals that the trailer of Housefull 5 will be released in March and the same will be attached to the prints of Sikandar on the big screen. It is perfect for the movie as Sikandar is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of the year. ## Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is among the biggest films and the makers are confident to position it as the event comic caper of 2025 and have big plans before opening the world up to the audience in June. It is a one-of-its-kind unique script, where the fun unfolds on a cruise. Mumbai, February 13 - There is no stopping Sanam Teri Kasam which is re-writing records for an Indian film re-release at the domestic box office. It has beaten all but Tumbbad to become the second-biggest Indian re-release grosser domestically. ## Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the heartbreaking romantic tale had a superb 6th day, earning approximately 2.50-2.60 crores net, pushing the total net collection to around 24.25+ crores (28.50+ crores gross) through Wednesday. It is looking to score around 27 crores net in the first week. ## Sanam Teri Kasam has become India's second biggest re-release grosser after last year's blockbuster Tumbbad which minted approximately 32 crores net collection. It has beaten Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli (26+ crores gross) and Ranbir Kapoor's superhit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (25.50+ crores gross) and is now on course to become the biggest re-release grosser. ## Christopher Nolan's Interstellar too is putting up an excellent show upon its re-rerelease in the country and scored another approximately 2.50 crores gross on its 6th day. Hyderabad, February 12 - Telugu heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda teamed up with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri for an action drama film, aimed at the Pan India release in multiple languages. It is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year and makers unveiled a first-look title glimpse of the same. ## On Wednesday, February 12, the makers revealed that VD12 has been titled Kingdom in the original Telugu and dubbed Tamil versions while the Hindi title is Saamraajya. Mumbai, February 12 - There might be curtains to one of the most anticipated Pan India projects, featuring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan with director Atlee, due to the ever-exceeding budget. ## It is widely known that director Atlee will collaborate with Salman Khan for a two-hero mega movie. The untitled project has been in pre-production for quite some now, but according to the latest report by Peepingmoon, it might get shelved. ## Recently, it was reported that Atlee is trying to make the film with a massive budget of 500 crores but the filmmaker is struggling to secure a producer willing to fund this large-scale action spectacle which also might star superstar Rajinikanth. ## It is said that Atlee has been in talks with Jio Studios but the producers are hesitant to invest such a massive amount in a Salman film at this juncture, considering his recent films have all mostly underperformed at the box office. ## Tamil gaint Sun Pictures has also explicitly stated that they are not interested in funding the project with Salman in the lead. Due to this, Atlee has now resumed talks with superstar Allu Arjun to headline the film. The actor is fresh from the mega box office blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule. ## It is to be noted that Allu Arjun was the original choice to lead the film but it earlier backed out due to some reasons. Los Angeles, February 12 - This Valentine's Day weekend is expected to shower love at the box office in the form of Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, the first superhero movie of the year. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series had its world premiere yesterday (local time) and the early reactions are coming in as mixed. However, the film is likely to fly at the box office according to the trade projections. ## The Hollywood trade is projecting Brave New World to open in the range of $80 million-$85 million over a 3-day Valentine's Day and about $90 million - $100 million over a 4-day Presidents Day weekend. The film is more of a political thriller and projection indicates almost similar to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened at $95 million in 3-day. ## Overseas, the Anthony Mackie-fronted tentpole is projected to hit $100 million - $110 million over a 5-day opening weekend, for a global opening in the range of $200 million which is touted to be superb for a new look Captain America film that is without the OG Captain America, Steve Rogers. ## It is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since the $1.33+ billion mega-blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine in July 2024, so the momentum is with the Brave New World. Mumbai, February 11 - The surprise package of the year, Sanam Teri Kasam re-release continues to rock at the box office with a super strong trend during the weekdays. It has emerged as the first Bollywood outright success of the year. ## After scoring a record 15.50 crores net in the opening weekend, the romantic drama showed a remarkable hold on Monday to score approximately 3.25 crores net. Continuing the superb trend, the film showed just around a 10% drop on Tuesday to bring another approximately 3 crore net collection. ## The total re-release collection of Sanam Teri Kasam is around 21.75 crores net in 5 days and it is heading towards 28-30 crores net first week which is simply brilliant. The film is doing fantastic business and is set to become the biggest re-release grosser in India. ## Despite the setback originally, Sanam Teri Kasam has turned into a cult classic over the years with immense popularity on television. Due to that, the demand for the sequel has been going on and to the excitement of the fans, the makers announced the sequel last year with Harshvardhan. ## Now, in a recent interview, director Vinay Sapru, who directed the film with Radhika Rao, confirmed that the script for part 2 is ready and also hinted that it would be released on the next Valentine's Day.
