Mumbai, August 15 - Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films' next horror-comedy film is Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thama. The movie, directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, was announced last for a grand Diwali 2025 release in cinemas worldwide. ## The shoot of Thama has been completed, and the post-production is going full swing. The fans of Maddock's horror-comedy universe have been waiting for the first look teaser of the film, and the makers provided good news. ## On Friday (August 15), Maddock took to Twitter/X and announced that the first look teaser of Thama will be released on August 19. The pre-look teaser, in the voice of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, teases that Thama is the most powerful in the horror-comedy universe. ## The teaser of the movie was supposed to be released earlier this year, but was delayed for some reason. It is said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed 47 seconds of a teaser of Thama with a U certificate in February this year. ## Thama, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, was earlier supposed to be titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar. In the movie, a well-known and determined historian examines ancient manuscripts for clues to the mysterious vampire legends of Vijay Nagar. ## Apart from the lead cast, the film is expected to feature multiple cameos from the recent movies in Maddock's horror-comedy universe. Mumbai, February 10 - Harvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has emerged as a success story upon its re-release at the domestic box office after an excellent hold on Monday. It was a disaster in its original run 9 years ago, in 2016. ## Re-released amidst almost zero promotion at the start of Valentine's Day week on February 7, Sanam Teri Kasam stunned the trade with its opening weekend collection of approximately 15.50 crores net which is easily the biggest weekend for a Bollywood re-release title. ## On Monday, the film was outrightly the number one title at the Bollywood box office with approximately 3-3.25 crores net collection, beating the combined Monday total of Sky Force, Deva, Badass Ravikumar, and Loveyapa. With this, the total re-release collection of Sanam Teri Kasam after just 4 days is 18.50+ crores net which is more than double the film's lifetime original collection. ## The film will continue to score well throughout the Valentine's Day week as it might reach 27-30 crores net collection in the first week. There is Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava which is releasing on February 14 and is likely to open big at the box office, so needs to be seen how STK perform after that. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar, after scoring around 11 crores gross collection in its opening weekend, showed a fantastic hold on Monday to collect over 2 crores gross. Mumbai, February 10 - Tamil director Atlee Kumar, after directing superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan (2023), is all set to collaborate with superstar Salman Khan for his next 2-hero film, tentatively titled A6. ## A6 is one of the biggest Indian films in the making and the talks are reportedly on with superstar Rajinikanth to come on board to play the parallel lead role. The pre-production work for the movie is ongoing and it will go on floors soon. ## After the monstrous success of Jawan, Atlee has raised the stake for A6. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the film will be made on a budget of 500 crores as the director plans to create a different and unique world in his next. ## As reported earlier, A6 is a period drama with reincarnation elements and Atlee is planning to make a never-seen-before world with the film. Mumbai, February 9 - The 9-year-old romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has had a blockbuster opening weekend upon its re-release and has already become one of the biggest Bollywood repeat grosser at the domestic box office. ## The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane-fronted movie was a dull affair in its original run, earning just 9 crores net collection in its lifetime run, but it got its due when the film was re-released on February 7 despite almost zero promotions. ## It scored approximately 4.25+ crores net collection on the first day of re-issue, followed by a fantastic 5.25 crores net on Saturday. The movie showed a further jump on Sunday and minted approximately 6-6.25 crores net, for 15.50 crores net opening weekend which is more than +170% of its lifetime original collection. ## Sanam Teri Kasam was easily the biggest Bollywood movie this weekend despite a few new releases. The audience loves the film and the trade is stunned seeing the Housefull boards for an old movie. It is certain to do well in the coming days and sure to benefit during the Valentine's Day week. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar was one more big gainer this weekend, continuing to bring good fortune for re-release titles at the Indian box office. The cult classic was re-launched this weekend and the moviegoers didn't disappoint with superb response at the ticket window. ## After scoring approximately 2.40 crores net on the first day, the film followed it up with over 3.25 crores net on Saturday and another 3.25+ crores net collection on Sunday to close the opening weekend at around 9 crores for the film. Chennai, February 9 - Ajith Kumar's action thriller Vidaamuyarchi has had a good first weekend at the domestic box office, however, it failed to keep up the momentum after the big opening due to mixed word of mouth and remake factor. ## On its first Sunday (4th day), the movie scored more or less the same as on Saturday as early estimates suggest the collection to be around 15 crores gross, including around 13 crores gross in the home state, Tamil Nadu. The total 4-day weekend collection is around 72+ crores domestically, including 61+ crores in Tamil Nadu, as per estimates. ## The pre-sales of the movie for Monday are pretty average which was expected given the reception from audiences. It needs to be seen how strong the walk-ins will be as the film needs to have a good hold during the weekdays to have long and emerge a success.## Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya's Telugu romantic action drama Thandel has a fantastic and easily the biggest opening weekend for the actor. As per the estimates, the film has scored a decent jump on Sunday, especially in Telugu states which is not a regular case with Telugu titles. ## According to estimates, Thandel is expected to score around 14-15 crores gross collection domestically, including 12-13 crores gross in Telugu states. With this, the total domestic opening weekend of the movie is around 42 crores gross which is superb. ## The word of mouth for the movie is on the positive side which should lead to good hold during the weekdays. The blockbuster sequel has achieved this rarest of the rare milestones at the China box office, doing this in just 12 days. ## On its 11th day, Ne Zha 2 outgrossed the Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens' domestic total of $936.7 million to become the biggest grosser in the single market. Mumbai, February 8 - In recent times, a couple of old Bollywood films had a successful second chance after not getting much in their original runs. Well, the list has another title in the form of romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane. ## Re-released amid almost zero buzz on February 7, the heartbreaking romantic tale stunned the trade with its opening of 4.25+ crores net, more than 3x of the original run opening day collection. The opening was possible due to the film's immense popularity on television. ## On the second day of re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam witnessed a a jump of around 15% to earn approximately 5-5.25 crores net collection which is excellent, pushing the total to around 9.50 crores net. With this, it has outgrossed its lifetime original domestic collection of 9 crores net in just 2 days. ## Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam will eye another jump on Sunday as opening weekend can rise to around 15 crores which is just outstanding. Hyderabad, February 8 - Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's romantic action drama Thandel is proving to be a success story at the box office. The movie is creating a stir and living up to the pre-release hype with an excellent collection all over. ## Thandel delivered the career-best opening for Naga Chaitanya and on its second day, the movie has an excellent hold with a drop of just around 10% which is normal for a Telugu title. According to early estimates, the Chandoo Modenti's directorial earns in the range of 12-13 crores gross on Saturday. ## The fantastic second-day hold pushes the total collection of Thandel to 25+ crores gross domestically and the 3-day opening weekend can rise to 37-38+ crores gross which is a fantastic collection. The word of mouth is okay and the film is likely to do well during the weekdays which remains to be seen. ## Meanwhile, Himesh Reshmiyan's action comedy Badass Ravikumar is witnessing a drop on the second day after a good first-day collection of over 2.50 crores net. There were limited expectations for the movie to do well at the box office but the promos did generate some curiosity among the audience. ## The opening of the film was better than expected but the mixed word-of-mouth seems to be not helping its cause as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 1.75-2 crores net on its second day, dropping around 30%. ## The first 2 days box office collection of the film is respectable considering the expectations from it but it needs to hold well in the coming days to score a decent lifetime total. ## Stay tuned...

Chennai, February 8 - Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's action thriller Vidaamuyarchi saw a harsh drop of over 60% on its second day at the domestic box office but there was an upward trend on Saturday, a third day which was expected. However, the big jump is still missing. ## In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the movie managed to score a double-digit collection on Friday and according to early estimates, it is expected to gross 10.50-11.50 crores on Saturday with around a 10% jump in the state. This takes the movie's total collection to around 46 crores in the state. ## Apart from Tamil Nadu, Vidaamuyarchi is doing okay in the rest of the domestic market as there wasn't any drop in collection today. Overall, the film is expected to gross 13-14 crores domestically on its third day, pushing the total collection to around 57+ crores gross in 3 days. ## Vidaamuyarchi has one more day to score before entering the make-or-break weekdays. It has to hold well on Sunday and then, hope it doesn't drop big after that which is crucial for the long legs as word of mouth is not so good. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, February 8 - The mega blockbuster Chinese animated sequel Ne Zha 2 has done the unthinkable and entered uncharted box office territory by becoming the first film ever to score a $1 billion gross collection at the China box office. ## The direct sequel to the 2019 film Ne Zha, Ne Zha 2's running gross collection is $989+ million (RMB 7.2 billion) as of 9 PM local China time on its 11th day (Saturday). The film is likely to enter the $1 billion club at the end of the day and by the first hour of its 12th day, second Sunday. ## Before unlocking the billion club at the China box office, Ne Zha 2 scripted history on Saturday by becoming the highest-grossing movie ever in a single market, beating the Hollywood blockbuster 2015's Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens which grossed $936.7 million in North America. ## Ne Zha 2 has been running riot since its opening during the Chinese New Year weekend on January 29. Earlier, it set the single-film box office record for the Lunar New Year in China box office history and also outgrossed The Battle at Lake Changjin (RMB 5.77 billion) in just 9 days to become the biggest grosser in China. ## The film's lifetime box office projection has been on the rise with its sensational day-wise trend. According to Maoyan, Ne Zha 2 can rise to $1.48 billion or RMB 10.8 billion at the domestic box office and this might change further depending on the progress. ## Stay tuned...
