Border 2 was officially announced recently with Sunny Deol returning to reprise his role from the first film.## On Friday (August 23), the makers officially confirmed actor Varun Dhawan on board to headline this war epic with Sunny Deol. Upon the announcement, Varun took to social media to pen an emotional note as he remembered watching Border (1997) when he was in class four. ## "I was just a kid in class four when I went to Chandan cinema and saw Border. And it made such a big impact. I still remember the sense of national pride we all felt in the hall when we saw JP sir's Border. Gopal, Indra grossed approximately 1.85 crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) on its first day and this is one of the biggest openings for Telugu re-release titles in recent times. Mumbai, August 22 - One of the potential Tamil highest-grossers of the year, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) starring Thalapathy Vijay is all set to hit the big screens on September 5th in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the sci-fi action thriller is super hot in the trade which is expecting it to score huge numbers at the box office. Not just in India, but the overseas market is also where Vijay's films have excelled in the past and the expectations are no less this time as well. ## According to the latest Tamil media reports, the entire overseas theatrical rights of The GOAT have been begged by Phars Films for a whopping 53 crores, which is said to be the second biggest for a Tamil title after Vijay's last year's blockbuster Leo (64 crores) and Kamal Haasan's upcoming Thug Life (63 crores).## Given the track record of Vijay's films at the overseas box office, the distributors could be up for huge returns. It is already one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time.## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster's 291.50 crores net (including approx. 16.80 crores net on the second Thursday) is the 4th biggest first week (including extended) ever in Hindi, after Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal. Interestingly, all these films were released in the last two years, including Gadar 2 which is 5th in this list.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the highest-grossing Indian horror-comedy film, miles ahead of Kartik Aaryan-fronted Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which scored 184+ crores net collection in its lifetime run. Chennai, August 22 - Two of the biggest Tamil movies of the year, superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller Vettaiyan and Suriya-fronted Kanguva are set for an epic clash at the box office this Dussehra weekend, on August 10, 2024. ## Kanguva was the first to announce the August 10 release amid the anticipation that Vettaiyan would take the slot before Lyca Productions recently confirmed the inevitable clash.
