Mumbai, August 6 - As the countdown for Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 has begun with less than 10 days left for the release, the buzz for this horror-comedy is sky-rocketing with each passing day.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is easily one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of the year, however, it won't have a smooth ride due to a clash with Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa along with a couple of South Indian movies at the Hindi box office.## Meanwhile, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and Jio Studios are planning to schedule special night preview shows for Stree 2 on August 14. The show timings are expected to be after 7.30 PM, and the fans will get to watch the film on the eve of Independence Day.## "The Stree 2 team is trying to capitalise on as the limited shows are expected to put up housefull boards all across due to the holiday on August 15. The screenings of this Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao film will be hosted all across the country, with tickets going live for sale on all the digital platforms", says the report.## Stree 2 is the 5th movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe after Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. Mumbai, August 6 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, beating megastar Shah Rukh Khan-led 2023's mega-blockbuster Jawan. ## The domestic box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 760 crores gross (640 crores net) in all languages after 40 days, which takes it past the entire run of Jawan's 760 crores gross. At the time of writing this piece, Kalki has surpassed Jawan in terms of both net and gross collection. ## The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD is leading the pack with approximately 350 crores gross (290 crores net), followed by the Telugu version with 335 crores gross while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have grossed around 75 crores so far.## As said, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 will remain the biggest domestic grosser with a mighty 1417 crores gross (1030 crores net), followed by KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR at the second and third with 1001 crores gross (860 crores net), and 916 crores gross (782 crores net), respectively. Mumbai, August 6 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-fronted Son of Sardaar 2 has reportedly dropped actor Sanjay Devgn from its massive ensamble cast due to the visa denial for the United Kingdom. The action comedy is being directed by Vijay Kumar Arora.## The shooting for Son of Sardaar 2 recently commenced in Scotland, the UK with Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur joining the first schedule. According to the latest report by mid-day, Sanjay Dutt was supposed to join the team in the ongoing schedule but has now been dropped due to visa issues.## Mid-Day has reported that Dutt's visa application was rejected because of his incarceration in the past. The actor was unable to procure a UK visa in the past as well. Actor Ravi Kishan, who has been roped in to play a prominent role, has reportedly replaced Sanjay Dutt in the movie.## It is to be noted that the makers of Son of Sardaar 2 haven't officially announced the cast of the movie yet. Hyderabad, August 5 - Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Jr. NTR are teaming up for the first time for an action drama film, tentatively titled Dragon. The film was announced a couple of years back but due to the other commitments of both the director and actor, the development of their maiden collaboration was delayed.## Over the past couple of months, there have been major talks regarding which film would Prashanth Neel be taking among Prabhas-fronted Salaar 2 and NTR-starrer. There were reports that Neel might go ahead with Salaar 2 as Dragon may need more time in the pre-production before taking in on floors.## According to the latest reliable reports, director Neel is proceeding with Jr. NTR and the movie will officially be launched on August 9 with Pooja Ceremony in Hyderabad. Though there is no clarity on Salaar 2 yet, the latest development indicates that Prabhas-starrer may not start soon.## Dragon will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and it is easily one of the most anticipated Pan India movies in development. The details about the shooting, casting and others have been kept under wraps for now. ## Jr. NTR, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of the long-awaited Devara Part 1, due on September 28. Mumbai, August 5 - 20th Century Studios' science fiction horror film Alien: Romulus has averted a mega Independence Day 2024 clash and it will now be released a week later than its domestic (North America) release which is August 16.## Directed by Fede Álvarez, Alien: Romulus, which is the seventh instalment in the Alien franchise, will be released on August 23 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, languages at the Indian box office. Earlier, it was supposed to be released with Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, Vedaa, Thangalaan, and Double iSmart on August 15.## Alien: Romulus serves as a standalone interquel set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). Mumbai, August 5 - Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has surpassed $800 million at the worldwide box office, and with this, it has become the highest-grossing film in the Deadpool franchise, beating Deadpool 2. ## Directed by Shawn Levy, the 34th Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tentpole has grossed $824 million (6905 crores) through the second weekend, surpassing the entire theatrical runs of 2016's Deadpool ($783 million) and 2018s Deadpool 2 ($786 million) as the top grosser in the franchise.## Domestically (North America), Deadpool 3 has grossed $395.6 million (3315 crores) in just 10 days. It has become the highest-grossing R-rated film in North America after beating The Passion Of The Christ which scored $371 million in 2004.## At the overseas box office, the third Deadpool instalment has minted $428.5 million (3590 crores) over 52 markets. China continued to lead the international chart for the movie with $45.2 million, followed by the United Kingdom ($42.4 million), Mexico ($32.8 million), Australia ($24.6 million), and Germany ($19 million). Chennai, August 4 - Tamil action thriller Raayan has become the highest-grossing film for the actor Dhanush after the excellent second weekend at the worldwide box office in which it also became the actor's third 100 crores grosser.## Directed by Dhanush, Raayan has beaten the entire run of Thiruchitrambalam (117 crores worldwide gross) on its second Sunday in just 10 days. The movie is looking to score around 10 crores worldwide on Sunday, which will take its total collection to around 123 crores gross. ## Interestingly, Thiruchitrambalam became actor Dhanush's first 100 crores grosser in 2022, followed by Vaathi which grossed approximately 116 crores in 2023. As a director, Raayan is Dhanush's first century at the worldwide box office.## Produced by Sun Pictures, the A-rated blockbuster is also the only third Tamil movie of 2024 to top 100 crores, and it is currently behind only Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (148+ crores) as the second biggest Tamil grosser of the year. ## The movie stars Dhanush in the titular role, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. Mumbai, August 4 - After dropping below the 1 crore net mark (only the third time so far) on its 37th day, Prabhas-fronted epic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD scored nearly 100% jump on its 6th Saturday at the domestic box office as it closes in the gap with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic scored an estimated 1.25 crores collection (1.45+ crores gross) on its 38th day which takes its total collection to around 638 crores net (757.50 crores gross) in all versions so far. ## Kalki 2898 AD will cross Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan's 640 crores net (760 crores gross) by today or tomorrow to become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, after RRR (782 crores net/916 crores gross), KGF: Chapter 2 (860 crores net/1001 crores gross), Baahubali 2 (1030 crores net/1417 crores gross).## At the worldwide box office, Kalki stands at an estimated 1032 crores gross, including 274.50 crores from the international markets. Mumbai, August 4 - Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine is putting up a show as it has become the 15th Hollywood movie of all time to surpass 100 crores net collection at the Indian box office. The movie hit 100 crores net collection on its 9th day, becoming one of the fastest to reach the milestone.## The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted superhero comedy witnessed a huge jump of around 75% on its second Saturday to score an estimated 7.50 crores net (9 crores gross) collection. This takes the film's total net collection to over 101.50 crores (127.50 crores gross/$15.2 million) in 9 days.## Deadpool & Wolverine is the second Hollywood movie of 2024 after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and the 15h overall to top 100 crores net in India. Mumbai, August 3 - Ajay Devgn-fronted romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is heading towards becoming a huge disaster at the box office after failing to score must big jump on the second day after the disastrous opening. ## The Neeraj Pandey's directorial feature scored one of the lowest openings featuring a credible movie star at approximately 1.85 crores. The opening of the movie almost sealed its fate but it could have reignited hopes by scoring big on Saturday and Sunday which is not happening.## According to the early estimates, the film scored in the range of 2.25 crores net on its second day/first Saturday, with around a 20% jump which is not enough to gain the lost ground. 2-day collection of the film is around 4 crores net as the first weekend is headed for a disappointing 6.50-7 crores net.## Janhvi Kapoor's Ulajh is showing a much better trend than AMKDT, however, the overall collection remains low as it also heading to meet the same fate as Ajay Devgn-starrer. On its second day, Ulajh scored an estimated 1.50-1.75 crores crores, jumping by around 40% from the opening day.## The total collection of the movie is around 2.75 crores net after 2 days and the first weekend is expected to be around 5 crores net. It has become only the third Tamil movie of 2024 to hit the box office century after Indian 2 and Maharaja.## Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan grossed approximately 3.50 crores domestically on its second Friday (8th day), taking its total domestic cume to approximately 72.75 crores gross.
