Mumbai, June 26 - Varun Dhawan's action thriller Baby John has been moved back by 6 months and it will now be hitting worldwide theatres on Christmas this year. It is directed by Tamil director Kalees and also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi as the female leads. ## Produced by Cine1 Studios, and A for Apple Productions in association with Jio Studios, Baby John was originally announced for a May 31, 2024, release but the makers postponed it due to the pending shoot. There were rumours that it might be released in July but the makers have locked December 25, 2024, release date for the same. ## Baby John is reportedly an adaptation of Atlee's Tamil film Theri (2016). In the movie, Baby John, a former police officer, fakes his death and goes into hiding to bring up his daughter in a safe environment, but trouble ensues when their life gets threatened by Baby John's past enemies and Baby John must face his past to protect his daughter.## Christmas this year just got merrier. Chennai, June 26 - Legendary Kamal Haasan returns as Senapathy to fight corruption in the country in the sequel to his 1996 film, Indian. Directed by S. Shankar, the first of the two-part Indian 2 is set to hit screens on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. ## Originally, Indian 2 was planned as a single movie but the makers have now split it into two parts. At the trailer launch event on June 25, director Shankar and Kamal Haasan talked about the reasons behind splitting the movie into two parts. ## While Kamal Haasan revealed that bringing the film in 2 parts was purely director Shankar's decision as he was the right man to judge his script, the director said that the decision was taken due to the demand of the script which is lengthy and goes from regional to pan India. ## Shankar explained that the story of the film, which is based on corruption, revolves around just 1 state in Indian 2 but as the story spreads all over the country, it became important to tell this in another part, which is Indian 3. The first part is over 3 hours long. ## "Our initial idea was to do only one part. After I started filming and when I sat in the editing room, all the scenes from my point of view came out very well. If, for the sake of it, you have to make it in one part, if I compressed the whole thing, the soul of every scene, the feel of every scene would have been lost". Shankar clarified (via Times of India).## Kamal Haasan, meanwhile, appreciated the hard work put in by director Shankar and Lyca Productions to stay with the film despite many hurdles. In case you don't know, Indian 2 has been in the making since 2019, but the production was halted due to an accident in 2020 while filming that killed some crew members before the COVID-19 pandemic put a further dent. The filming was finally wrapped up in March 2024. ## The movie stars Kamal Haasan, reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, with Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani and Nedumudi Venu in the ensemble cast. ## Indian 3 will be released in early 2025.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 26 - In April 2017, SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion, starring Prabhas, breached the 100 crores, and 200 crores worldwide opening day mark for an Indian movie. Since then, only RRR, also directed by Rajamouli, could touch 200 crores opening day box office figure. ## 2 years after RRR, Indian cinema might have its third 200 crore worldwide opener in Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic is tracking to earn 180+ crores opening with a chance to reach 200 crores (rough estimation), depending on the reception it gets upon release. ## Given the opening on the projected lines, Kalki 2898 AD will be the third biggest Indian opener at the box office. There have been 4 Indian films previously to take the opening of 150+ crores gross, and Kalki 2898 AD should be the 5th movie on the list and it will be third for Prabhas to achieve the mega feat.## So far, only 10 Indian films have taken the opening of 100 crores and more at the worldwide box office and Kalki 2898 AD will be the 11th movie in this list. Mumbai, June 25 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD becomes the first Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 1.8 million tickets for the opening day with a few hours still left for the release and the final ticket count will be over 2 million.## The advance booking gross collection of Kalki is 56+ crores (including block seats) for the first day and it will finish around 60 crores gross before the first show begins which will be among the biggest pre-sales ever for an Indian title. ## The Telugu version is leading the advance booking collection of the sci-fi epic with 40+ crores gross so far, followed by the Hindi version with 7+ crores gross. The Hindi version of the movie has had better pre-sales than Prabhas' last film, Salaar which indicates a very good start in Hindi. ## Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD has created an all-time opening day pre-sales record in Hyderabad city by a long margin. It is currently 15+ crores gross, which is around 3 crores higher than the second placed, Salaar which scored approximately 12 crores pre-sales for the opening day in the city.## As per the rough projection, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to open with 120+ crores gross collection in India and 60+ crores gross overseas for 180+ crores worldwide opening with a chance to touch 200 crores opening day gross. Mumbai, June 25 - In 2022, it was reported that actor Ayushmann Khurrana and producer Dinesh Vijan would team up for a horror-comedy film and later it was revealed that the title of the movie was Vampires of Vijay Nagar. In July 2023, Maddock Films officially confirmed the movie and now, there is an update on the same. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, national crush Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the female lead in Vampires of Vijay Nagar which will be directed by Aditya Satpodar whose directorial, Munjya is currently playing in theatres at the back of Superhit box office collection. ## Previously, there were rumours that Samantha Ruth Prabhu would play the female lead but there was no reliable update on the same. The upcoming movie marks Rashmika and Ayushmann's first film together and also, it is the first for them with director Aditya Satpodar. ## Vampires of Vijay Nagar will be a part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe which kicked off with Stree in 2018, followed by Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. Stree 2 is the next film in this series, followed by VOV which is currently in the scripting stage and will soon go into pre-production. Mumbai, June 25 - Maddock Films has launched the teaser of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 online after releasing it exclusively with its Munjya in theatres on June 13. The movie is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock with Jio Studios. ## Shraddha Kapoor, whose identity remains a mystery in the movie, returns to reprise her role alongside Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee as inhabitants of Chanderi. Mumbai, June 25 - Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected member of parliament, has announced a new release date for his long-awaited biographical political drama Emergency on the day of the 50th year of The Emergency imposed in 1975 for two years by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. ## The movie, which is written, directed and stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Indira Gandhi, was supposed to be released on June 14 but it will now hit worldwide theatres on September 6, 2024, and will have a solo release. Kangana has also produced it under her banner Manikarnika Films with EaseMyTrip. ## Emergency marks Kangana's second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which she co-directed with Krish Jagarlamudi in 2019. Mumbai, June 25 - We might have the first Indian film since SS Rajamouli's RRR (2022) and third overall to take the opening of 200 crores at the worldwide box office when Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD releases on June 27 as one of India's biggest movies of the year. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic is having tremendous hype among the audience and the advance booking response tells the same. The bookings for the movie opened a couple of days ago and it is already flying high, especially in Telugu states with record-breaking numbers. ## The pre-sales of Kalki 2898 AD for the Hindi version are seeing a good response which reaffirms Prabhas' ever-growing stature among the Hindi audience. The booking in Hindi is trending on par or slightly better than Prabhas' last movie, Salaar: Part 1 and this has assured a good opening. ## Given the pre-sales response and the track record of Prabhas with recent films, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to take the opening of 120-140 crores gross in India. In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the movie is expected to open in the range of 90-100 crores. In North India, it is expected to take an opening of around 20 crores while Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are likely to give a 15+ crore start to the movie. ## Overseas, Kalki 2898 AD is having excellent pre-sales which certainly makes it a bigger starter than Salaar. Mumbai, June 25 - Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is reuniting with his director father David Dhawan, for the fourth time for a comic entertainer. The duo previously collaborated for Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No. 1 (direct digital release). ## The yet-untitled upcoming film is said to be an original script unlike the previous three collaborations of the duo and is touted to be a hilarious entertainer. Now according to the report by Pinkvilla, Southern beauty Sreeleela has been roped in to play the female lead. ## Sreeleela has been super busy for the last couple of years in the Telugu film industry and is now set to make her mark in Bollywood with her debut outing opposite Varun Dhawan. The movie will have two actresses and the second female lead is said to be Mrunal Thakur. ## "Much like all David Dhawan comedies, this one is also a love triangle where the humour is a result of confusion in the leading man's life. The team has roped in Sreeleela to play Varun's love interest in the film. Mumbai, June 24 - Bollywood star Sunny Deol is in no mood to stop after testing blood with the mega-blockbuster success of Gadar 2 last year. The movie grossed close to 700 crores worldwide and became one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol has been on a signing spree and the latest movie he has signed is Telugu director Gopichand Malineni's mass entertainer, tentatively called SDGM (Sunny Deol, Gopichand Malineni). Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the shoot of the movie has already commenced for 2025 release. ## Sunny Deol will be playing a common man in the movie who takes on a powerful villain. Gopichand Malineni shared details about Sunny's role in a recent interview (via Mid-Day). The filmmaker also revealed that the story is inspired by many real-life incidents. ## "I'll present him in a never-before-seen action avatar. After Gadar 2 was released, I narrated the story to Sunny sir. He said yes immediately, adding that he was looking for this kind of role. Sunny sir doesn’t play a man in uniform. While it is the story of a common man who takes on [the system] to fight for what is right, it is an unusual concept", the Veera Simha Reddy director said. ## Adding further, Gopichand Malineni said that they have roped in three action directors as there are strong action set-pieces in this movie. Mumbai, June 24 - Maddock Films' Munjya has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the 7th Bollywood film of 2024 to achieve the feat. The horror-comedy entered the 100 crores gross club on its 17th day. ## Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya has approximately 98.35 crores gross (83.30 crores net) in India and an estimated 4.25 crores overseas for 102.60 crores worldwide gross through the third Sunday. It is the second movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe to reach the 100 crores mark after Stree (182 crores).## Starring Abhay Verma, and Sharvari Wagh, Munjya is in the race to top 100 crores net collection. It is expected to reach around 90 crores mark by the end of the second week and then, the race to the century mark will begin thereafter. Mumbai, June 24 - Tamil director Atlee Kumar is looking to finalize his next film after delivering a massive blockbuster in the form of superstar Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan last year. The filmmaker was supposed to follow with a film with Allu Arjun but he has reportedly backed out. ## After Allu Arjun pulled out of the film, Atlee reportedly approached superstar Salman Khan for his next which is said to be a 2-hero action entertainer. Now, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker has approached megastar Rajinikanth to headline the film with Salman. ## It is said that the formal meeting of Atlee, Rajinikanth, and Salman Khan will happen next month and things are expected to turn out positive. "Sun Pictures will be producing the film and they share a family-like bond with superstar Rajinikanth. Atlee on the other hand has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years. They are confident to get both Rajinikanth and Salman Khan on board", says the report. ## If this once-in-a-generation collaboration gets finalised, the makers are aiming to take the movie on floors by the end of this year.
