SS Rajamouli's RRR Hits Historic Milestone At The Japan Box Office; Becomes 3rd Highest-Grossing Indian Movie Ever Worldwide

Tokyo, March 18 - SS Rajamouli's Oscar-winning blockbuster RRR is having a dream run at the Japan box office. Despite being in its 22nd week, the period action drama is putting insane numbers and has now crossed the historic milestone of $10 million there. ## Released in October last year, the Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted flick has so far collected approx. ¥1360 million or $10.13 million or INR 84 crores in 21 weeks. The collection of RRR witnessed a huge jump in its 21st week after the film's Oscar win. ## It is insane that the 21st-week collection (¥125 million) of RRR is the highest so far in its box office run in Japan and it is almost 6 times higher than the 9th week of collection (¥21 million) which is the lowest week-wise total of the movie so far. ## At one point, it was looking difficult for RRR to even cross ¥500 million after the slow start in Japan. However, ever since the movie started making noise in award seasons, the collections started soaring and eventually hit the coveted ¥1 billion mark and now, it is heading towards ¥1.5 billion, possibly by next week. ## The total worldwide collection of RRR now stands at approx. 1210 crores, becoming the 3rd highest-grossing Indian movie ever. RC15: Title of Ram Charan's Political Thriller With Director Shankar Revealed

Hyderabad, March 17 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has returned to India after attending the 95th Academy Awards ceremony. The actor will soon resume the filming of his much-awaited political action thriller film with director Shankar. ## Produced by Dil Raju, RC15 is one of the biggest Telugu films, also releasing in multiple other languages. Superstar Allu Arjun's Pan India Movie With Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga To Be Titled 'Bhadrakali'?

Ram Charan Opens Up On 'RRR' Not Getting Picked For Oscars 2023 By Indian Jury

Hyderabad, February 11 - The Film Federation of India (FFI) left everyone stunned when it picked the Gujarati movie "The Chhello Show" (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for Oscars 2023, over SS Rajamouli's "RRR" which has been winning accolades internationally and getting wide recognition. ## "Last Film Show" though did receive critical acclaim but failed to score nominations in the Best International Feature Film category which further widened the criticism for FFI for not picking "RRR". Meanwhile, Ram Charan, who plays the role of Ramaraju in the film, finally reacts to the decision. ## During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ram Charan said that he was not entirely surprised by the decision but was a little disappointed that the movie was not picked.## "I really don't understand the process of selection. Samantha Ruth Prabhu's 'Shaakuntalam' Gets A New Release Date

Hyderabad, February 10 - Lady superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu's long-awaited historical romantic drama film "Shaakuntalam" has been dealing with multiple delays as far as the release date is concerned. The movie being VFX heavy is taking longer than expected time in the post-production. ## Directed by Gunasekhar, "Shaakuntalam" is now confirmed to hit big screens worldwide on April 14, 2023, in multiple languages. It was previously supposed to release on February 17 but was postponed as it was revealed that the makers were having difficulties in getting a wide release in other languages than the original Telugu. ## Based on a popular play Abhigyanam Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of the Puru dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Buzz: Jr. NTR And Dhanush To Headline A Two Part Film With Director Vetrimaaran

Hyderabad, February 6 - The Tollywood film industry is buzzing with the latest blockbuster rumor regarding superstar Jr. NTR's next film. While the actor is taking enough time to start his film with director Koratala Siva, he is keeping everyone interested about the out of the box choices for his upcoming movies. ## According to the latest reports, Tamil director Vetrimaaran has narrated a script to Jr. NTR which he loved it. Though there are not much details available yet, the project in question is said to be a two-part film with the first part will be led by Jr. NTR while Dhanush is believed to be the front-runner for the second part. ## Mythri Movie Makers, the most happening Tollywood production house currently, will reportedly be bankrolling Jr. NTR - Vetrimaaran's film. Pawan Kalyan Reveals He Did Not Get Full Remuneration For Blockbuster 'Gabar Singh'

Hyderabad, February 5 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan has revealed that he did not get his full remuneration for "Gabbar Singh" which is one of his biggest-ever blockbusters. ## Directed by Harish Shankar, "Gabbar Singh" was the highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2022. The movie is a remake of the 2010 Bollywood film "Dabangg" which was itself a huge hit. "Gabbar Singh" set new benchmarks for commercial cinema. ## Despite turning out to be a hugely profitable venture for the makers, the superstar wasn't paid fully and not what he actually asked for. Tocky, February 4 - SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has turned beast at the Japan box office over the last few weeks.
