Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' Completes Record-Breaking First Week At The Box Office

Mumbai, February 3 - Yash Raj Films' biggest bet has turned out to be the biggest blockbuster as Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" has concluded the extended opening week at the box office on a historic note. ## Siddharth Anand's directorial broke all the opening week records for a Bollywood movie and has set new benchmarks for the upcoming films to climb. "Pathaan", after becoming the biggest Bollywood opener of all time with 57 crores net, concludes a 9-day week with 364.15 crores net, including 351 crores in Hindi alone. ## Also starring John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" has beaten "KGF: Chapter 2" (268.63 crores) to score the biggest ever first week for a Hindi film. As far as the like-for-like record, "Pathaan" is still miles ahead of "KGF 2" which minted 280.18 crores net in the first 9 days. ## For an outright Bollywood movie, Salman Khan's "Sultan" was previously the biggest opening week grosser with 229.16 crores net in its 9-day week. Interestingly, "Pathaan" has already crossed the lifetime collection of "Sultan" (300.12 crores) in just 6 days. ## At the overseas box office, "Pathaan" has grossed approx. 260 crores in 9 days, for a total worldwide cume of approx. 697 crores in as many days. It has topped 700 crores gross as I type this and becomes the 5th Bollywood and 9th Indian film to achieve the feat. London, February 3 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster "Pathaan" has become the highest-grossing Indian film at the United Kingdom box office. The spy action thriller has beaten the previous record held by "Dhoom 3" for 10 years. ## Aamir Khan-fronted "Dhoom 3" grossed £2.71 million at the UK box office and was the biggest Indian movie there. Now, the Shah Rukh Khan-fronted blockbuster "Pathaan" has crossed that mark in just 9 days to become the new box office king in the country for an Indian film. Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna's 'Mission Majnu' Garners 19+ Million Viewing Hours

Mumbai, February 2 - Actors Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna-fronted spy thriller "Mission Majnu" is proving to be a successful venture for Netflix which acquired the digital-to-streaming rights of it. ## Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, "Mission Majnu" was released on January 20 and debuted at number 2 on Netflix with 8.94 million viewing hours in the first three days. Pathaan Second Thursday Early Estimates; Strong Hold Continues

Mumbai, February 2 - Pathaan continues to dominate at the box office as the early estimate collections suggest 15-16 crores net on its 2nd Thursday. These figures are extraordinary as only a few films have managed to collect higher collections on their opening day compared to the 9th day of Pathaan.## The collections of Pathaan are universal from the multiplexes to smaller town single screens and it is the single screens that are holding well, especially in the mass centers of Delhi, UP, and Bihar. West Bengal is an SRK-driven circuit and is doing pretty fine. The only circuits that are not at the level of other historic blockbusters are Gujarat and East Punjab.## The second Thursday's early estimate collections will take the total collections of Pathaan to around 364 cr net box office mark. The film has shown around a 20% drop in the last two days but that is because the film is coming after a humongous extended weekend and then extraordinary Monday and Tuesday figures. The film will see another drop tomorrow but the good thing is that there is no other film to challenge the footfalls of Pathaan which means Pathaan can score huge 2nd-weekend numbers which could be among the biggest of all time. ## The film will beat the numbers of Dangal to emerge as the biggest grosser of the Hindi film industry in the next two days. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' Becomes Biggest Domestic Scorer In YRF's Spy Universe

Mumbai, February 2 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" is showing no sign of fatigue as it is recording blockbuster collections at the box office. The Siddharth Anand's directed flick scored a mammoth opening weekend and carried that momentum into weekdays. ## Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" has completed 8 days at the box office, scoring 348.50 crores net in all languages, including 336 crores net in the Hindi language alone. It has now become (as I type this) the biggest domestic scorer in Yash Raj Films' spy universe, beating Salman Khan's "Tiger Zinda Hai". ## "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, has earned approx. 339 crores net in Hindi. "Pathaan" has crossed that mark in just 9 days, and it will cross the 350 crores mark by the end of the day. As far as the gross collection is concerned, "TZH" is still ahead with approx. 433 crores as "Pathaan" will be around 420 crores gross in 9 days.## Siddharth Anand's "War" (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff is the third biggest-grosser movie in the spy universe with approx. 303 crores net while Salman's "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012) scored approx. 199 crores. At the worldwide box office, "Pathaan" is miles ahead rest of the aforementioned films as the collection will be close to 700 crore gross in 9 days. Mumbai, February 2 - Filmmaker Karan Johar's directorial comeback movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani won't be released in April 2023 as the makers have postponed the release by three months. ## Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles, the romantic family drama was supposed to release on April 28, but will now be hitting theaters worldwide on July 28, 2023. It has also averted the clash with Mani Ratnam's "PS-2" which is releasing on April 28 in multiple languages. ## Dharma Productions took to Twitter to announce the new release date with the title poster. Mumbai, February 1 - Pathaan which broke every initial Bollywood record from opening day to weekend to first week has shown a superb hold on the second Wednesday of its box-office run. The early estimate collections are set to be around 19-20 crores net which is an excellent number coming after a record-smashing first-week collection. ## The second Wednesday collections will take the total box office collections to just a little under the 350cr net. The film has beaten some of the biggest blockbusters of the last decade today like PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Sanju to emerge as the second highest-grossing film in the Bollywood film industry. Producer Siddharth Anand Gives Update On Tiger Shroff's 'Rambo' Remake

Mumbai, February 1 - Director Siddharth Anand, fresh from the historic blockbuster "Pathaan", has resumed the filming of "Fighter" starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The aerial action thriller is scheduled to release on January 25, 2024, exactly one year after "Pathaan". ## Siddharth Anand is also the producer of "Fighter" with Viacom18 Studios distributing this highly-anticipated film. The filmmaker currently has no other film as far as the direction is concerned, however, he has the Hindi remake rights to the Hollywood actioner "Rambo". ## The filmmaker bought the remake rights from Millennium Films and announced the film many moons back with Tiger Shroff playing the titular role. The movie, however, couldn't take off due to the delay in pre-production and the covid-19 pandemic. ## During an interview with Deadline, the "Bang Bang" director revealed that pre-production on "Rambo" is going at a brisk pace and the shoot for the same will start at the end of this year after Tiger Shroff wraps up his current commitments. Despite a few box-office successes last year, the Hindi film industry badly needed a big blockbuster to regain its lost glory, and that came in the form of Siddharth Anand's directorial, which is a part of Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy universe. Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" is currently the 15th biggest Indian film and will be entered in the top 5. ## On the larger picture, more than Bollywood, "Pathaan" marks a king-size comeback of two giant forces of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films. The combo of SRK and YRF has delivered some of the remarkable blockbusters of Indian cinema, but over the last few years, things didn't go the way they would have thought. ## Shah Rukh Khan - Before "Pathaan", King Khan's last film in a full-fledged role was "Zero" in 2018. It was an experimental film for the superstar with director Aanand L. Rai. A firm believer in big screen experience, YRF, arguably the biggest production studio in India, is probably the biggest reason behind "Pathaan's" success. ## The studio, headed by Aditya Chopra, could have easily gone the other way but he chooses to go with what was most important for Bollywood. YRF had four releases post the pandemic, in the form of "Bunty Aur Babli 2", "Jayeshbhai Jordaar", "Samrat Prithviraj", and "Shamshera", and they all turned out to be disasters at the box office. Mumbai, January 29 - The mega-blockbuster Pathaan continues to dominate the box office as the early estimate suggests around 62 crores net on the first Sunday. No other film in history has collected even 55cr on any single day in Hindi while Pathaan has done that multiple times which is nothing but an extraordinary feat.## The Sunday number will come as the second-highest single day ever just behind the second day of Pathaan. The top 3 single days are of Pathaan only at 68 cr, 60 cr*, and 57 cr.
