'Stree 2' Crosses 2 Crore (20 Million) Footfalls In India; Second Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Mumbai, August 27 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has become only the second Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 2 crores tickets at the Indian box office, after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. ## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster sold nearly 1 million tickets on its 12th day, second Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), for total footfalls of approximately 2.06 crores (20.06 million) in 12 days so far, behind just Kalki 2898 AD which has sold 3.63 crores of tickets. ## Notably, Stree 2 has sold 20+ million tickets in just a single language while Kalki is a multi-lingual movie. In Hindi, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster sold approximately 1.56 crores of tickets in India which is the second highest of the year. Hrithik Roshan's Fighter is at three with 1.17 crores footfalls in Hindi.## At the box office, Stree 2 is nearing 500 crores gross collection in India. The Amar Kaushik's directorial has scored approximately 482 crores gross (403 crores net) after 12 days and it is expected to cross the 500 crores gross mark by tomorrow (14 days).## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Stree 2' Second Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 26 - After the all-time biggest second-weekend collection in Hindi, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 scores a good hold on its second Monday, which is a partial holiday on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.## The day-wise box office trend of Stree 2 has been heavily frontloaded so far, and the momentum continued on its 12th day (second Monday) though the drop is harsher than expected by around 60% for an estimated 17-18 crores net collection. ## The second Monday collection of Stree 2, however, is big enough to take the total to past 400 crores net at around 401+ crores, making it the first Hindi film of 2024 to do so. The full second week of the film is heading for around 135 crores net which is huge. ## The horror-comedy blockbuster is expected to enter the 500 crores net club during the third week, and then, it will chase Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (582 crores Hindi net) in its pursuit to become the biggest Hindi net grosser of all time.## As said, Stree 2 has an open run till September 6, and even after that, it is expected to remain a strong force at the box office which makes it a serious contender to beat Jawan. ## Stay tuned...

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Sets Release Timeline For Prabhas-Fronted 'Spirit' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal Park'

Mumbai, August 26 - Maverick director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to direct Pan India superstar Prabhas and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in his next films. The filmmaker delivered a monstrous blockbuster last year in the form of Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal which was the talk of the town after getting released in December.## It has been over 8 months since Animal was released and the fans are now waiting for the filmmaker's next film. During a recent interview, Vanga shared that he already has planned his next two films on which, he would be working for the next four years. ## As known to everyone, the Kabir Singh director has Prabhas-fronted Spirit as his next film. He shared an update that the pre-production work on the movie has already started and will be released in the next 2 years, which means in 2026 only.## The initial plan was to start the filming for Spirit by 2024 end and release it in 2025, however, it seems the shoot will start early next year for the 2026 theatrical debut, as revealed by the filmmaker. The movie will be a pure mass entertainer, unlike the previous 2 films of the director. ## After Spirit, Vanga will start Animal Park which is the sequel to Animal. Ranbir Kapoor will return to reprise his double roles as Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz Haque. Mumbai, August 25 - Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's action thriller Sky Force has been postponed from October 2nd release. Based on the true events of one of the deadliest air strikes by the Indian Air Force, the movie is directed by Abhishek Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force was supposed to be the studios' next release after the latest box office sensation Stree 2 which has crossed 500 crores gross worldwide. Mumbai, August 22 - Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary's romantic drama Laila Majnu was recently re-released at the Indian box office and surprisingly, it has turned out to be a big success for the makers. ## There have been rare instances when a re-released film matched its original release collection but Laila Majnu has exceeded expectations to earn nearly 2X of its original run. Released in 2018, the movie grossed approximately 3.20 crores in India. ## Since its proper re-release on August 10, Laila Majnu has so far grossed approximately 6.15 crores in box office collection in 14 days (including today, August 12). The movie was excellent in the first 6 days with a collection of nearly 5 crores before new releases affected its pace. Still, the movie is earning decently. ## There was a question mark on how Laila Majnu would sustain after the arrival of Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa. Yash Raj Films Confirms Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani 3'; To Start Filming In 2025

Box Office: 'Stree 2' First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 21 - There is no stopping Stree 2 which has another big day at the box office. The movie continues to trend above expectations during the weekdays after the heavily frontloaded holiday period of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. ## The horror-comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao completes 7 days at the box office with a net collection of around 275 crores after an estimated 19-20 crores, with a drop of around 25% on its first Wednesday (7th day). It is one of the biggest non-opening Wednesdays at the Indian box office. ## Stree 2 will finish its 8-day extended first week with a collection of around 290 crores net and will break into the 300 crores net club by the second Friday. It will be aiming to score 75+ crores net collection in the second weekend as there is not much competition to challenge Stree 2's juggernaut. ## Stree 2 will be crossing the 400 crores net collection mark in the second week and then will look to target the coveted 500 crores club. Mumbai, August 21 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 is on the record-smashing run as it has now become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 at the worldwide box office, beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. ## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the sensational blockbuster outgrossed Fighter's lifetime worldwide total of 359 crores in just 6 days to become the number 1 Bollywood grosser of the year. Earlier, it surpassed Fighter's domestic gross of 254 crores in 5 days. ## The sequel has grossed approximately 306 crores in India and an estimated 55 crores at the overseas box office for a worldwide cume of 361 crores in just 6 days. It will be topping 400 crores worldwide gross by Thursday (8 days) and then will aim to go past 500 crores by the end of the second weekend.## Stree 2, as said, is the highest-grossing film for Maddock Films along with director Amar Kaushik and actor Rajkummar Rao.
