'Kannappa' Makers' Silly Claim After First Day Box Office Business

BY SACNILK

Hyderabad, June 28 - It might be a marketing gimmick, the makers declared actor Vishnu Manchu's divotational film Kannappa as an industry hit, only after the first day. This is the first instance when the makers of any film have declared their movie an industry hit, after the opening day itself. ## While the intention behind such a gimmick is unclear, it is probably the silliest thing to do, as in reality, Kannappa will fall way short of the box office mark, which is required to become an industry hit. It is basically a self-trolling act by the Kannappa team, which is strange to even think about. ## As for the box office collection, Kannappa opened to around 11 crores gross at the Indian box office and around 13 crores gross at the worldwide box office. This collection, however, is good for a Vishnu Manchu film. It is, in fact, the biggest opening for the actor. ## The presence of superstar Prabhas played a huge role in the opening of Kannappa, as any sort of buzz the movie was able to generate before the release was due to Prabhas, who played a cameo role alongside Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal. It needs to be seen how the movie fares in the coming days, which are crucial for the film's success. ## #Kannappa emerges as an Industry Hit 💥An unstoppable saga of faith and power now ruling the silver screen! The divine has spoken — audiences have blessed it! 🙏🎟️ Book Now: https://t.co/r9X3mxOcKEHar Har Mahadev 🔱Har Ghar Mahadev 🔥#KannappaInCinemas #KannappaMovie… pic.twitter.com/4VlWzV2drA— 24 Frames Factory (@24FramesFactory) June 28, 2025 ## Stay tuned...

Odia Cinema's Biggest Blockbuster: 'Bou Buttu Bhuta' Crosses 10 Cr India Net

BY SACNILK

Bhubaneswar, June 27 – Director Jagdish Mishra's suspense-horror drama Bou Buttu Bhuta, starring Babushaan Mohanty and Archita Sahu, has created history at the box office by becoming the first-ever Odia-language film to cross 10 crores net collection. This remarkable feat cements its position as the highest-grossing Odia film of all time. ## Released on June 12 during the Raja festival, Bou Buttu Bhuta has witnessed a phenomenal run at the box office, driven by strong word of mouth and consistent audience turnout across Odisha. The film opened to packed theatres and has maintained a steady trend even during weekdays — a rarity in regional cinema. ## On its 15th day, the movie officially crossed the 10 crore net mark, becoming a landmark moment for the Odia film industry. The worldwide gross now stands at around 12 crores. ## Bou Buttu Bhuta is the first Odia film to enter the 10 crore club, surpassing earlier record holders like Daman and Karma. The film was made on a modest budget of 2–3 crores, making its returns even more impressive, with profits reportedly exceeding 300%. ## This also marks a major milestone for lead actor Babushaan Mohanty, who has achieved his biggest commercial success to date. For director Jagdish Mishra and producer Tripti Satapathy, this film not only breaks box office records but also raises the bar for future Odia productions in terms of storytelling, production quality, and audience connect. ## The film's success comes at a crucial time for the Odia film industry, which has been struggling with declining footfalls and limited nationwide reach. Bou Buttu Bhuta has proven that compelling local stories, when executed well, can generate massive box office returns and reignite public interest in regional cinema. ## Stay tuned for more updates on its lifetime run and potential expansions beyond Odisha. ## Stay tuned...

Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' Needs To Become Second Biggest Tamil Grosser To Breakeven?

BY SACNILK

Chennai, June 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth's highly anticipated action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, seems to have an uphill task in front of it. The film might need to emerge as the second biggest grosser for the veteran actor, just to become a box office success. ## Coolie is carrying huge expectations of delivering at the box office. The movie is being eyed as the one which has the potential to become the first Tamil movie to enter the 1000 crores club, and hence, it is getting crazy offers for theatrical distribution across the globe. ## Recently, it was revealed that the overseas business of Coolie was locked in the range of 80-85 crores, which is a record for a Tamil title. For Telugu states, the makers have reportedly been offered a huge price of around 45 crores, which is said to be the highest for a dubbed title in recent times. ## The theatrical business of the film for the home market, Tamil Nadu, is expected to be locked in the range of 110 crores, which is again a record. The presence of superstar Aamir Khan has kept the film in talks in the Hindi market as the makers are reportedly expecting 40-50 crores business for North India. ## The overall theatrical business of Coolie will reportedly be in the range of 300 crores, which means the movie will need to gross over 600 crores worldwide in order to emerge as a box office success. It will mostly need to outgross Rajinikanth's Jailer (605 crores gross), which is currently the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time, behind Thalapathy Vijay's Leo (606 crores gross). ## While the theatrical business offers for Coolie are eye-popping, it might be a risky bet given the fact that it will have a direct clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's War 2 on August 14. If War 2 manages to get favourable reception, it can make a significant dent in Coolie's business, especially in Telugu and Hindi markets. ## Coolie is produced by Sun Pictures, and it also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Monisha Blessy, and Kaali Venkat in key roles along with Aamir Khan in an extended cameo. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Kuberaa' Hits 100 Crore Worldwide In 6 Days

Hyderabad, June 25 - Director Sekhar Kammula's drama thriller Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, is turning out to be a big success at the box office as it has topped 100 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days. ## Released on June 20, the film has been soaring at the box office, thanks to the positive word of mouth. After scoring the biggest opening weekend for Dhanush and Nagarjuna, Kubraa is holding very well during the weekdays, and has managed to surpass 100 crores gross as I type this. ## In the first 5 days, through Tuesday, the film grossed an estimated 97 crores worldwide, including approximately 72 crores in India and 25 crores at the overseas box office. On its 6th day of business, it has entered the 100 crores club, becoming the 5th Telugu movie of the year to do so. ## Kuberaa is the 4th movie of Dhanush to hit 100 crores gross worldwide, after "Raayan" (also his highest-grossing movie), Vaathi/Sir, and Thiruchitrambalam. Interestingly, all four 100 crores grossers for Dhanush have come in the post-COVID-19 era. ## For Nagarjuna, it is his first 100 crores grosser, other than Brahmastra: Part 1, in which he played a cameo role, while Rashmika Mandanna scored her 9th 100 crore grosser. Director Sekhar Kammula, who has directed only 10 movies in his 25-year career, also opened his account in the 100 crores club with Kuberaa. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Tops 100 Crore Worldwide

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 24 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par scored a good hold on Monday after the better-than-expected opening weekend collection at the domestic and worldwide box office with around 96 crores gross. ## Enjoying the superb word of mouth, Sitaare Zameen Par has topped 100 crores worldwide gross collection on Monday, becoming the 8th Bollywood movie of the year to achieve the feat. In India, the film has minted around 80 crores gross, while overseas collection is an estimated 30 crores, for the worldwide cume total of around 110 crores in 4 days. ## Needless to say, Sitaare Zameen Par is one of the surprise box office successes of the year. Released amid low buzz, the film opened to around 13 crores gross, before showing near-perfect 100% growth on Saturday, followed by another solid jump on Sunday as the opening weekend finished around 69 crores in India. ## The good hold on Monday has ensured that SZP may have a solid run; however, there is Ajay Devgn's production horror thriller "Maa", starring Kajol, that is releasing this Friday amid a decent buzz. It needs to be seen the impact of Maa, but the Aamir Khan-starrer is still expected to retain a good number of screens to continue with a good collection. ## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, June 23 - Director Sekhar Kammula's Telugu-Tamil drama thriller Kuberaa starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna scored an excellent opening weekend, exceeding expectations at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Kuberaa recorded strong occupancies throughout the weekend, especially for the Telugu version.
