Chennai, January 5 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja missed out on entering the 200 crores club at the worldwide box office despite a superb run in China where it has become the highest-grossing Indian movie since 2018. ## Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, Maharaja has been fantastic on the mainland, finishing with approximately 91.65 crores as the 10th highest-grossing Indian film there. The film was released on November 29 last year in China, and thanks to positive word of mouth, it kept climbing at the box office before running out of gas. ## Earlier, the blockbuster grossed approximately 107.50 crores worldwide and it looked like the China collection would take it past 200 crores gross. However, the film finished with a worldwide total of approximately 199 crores gross, which is nonetheless a blockbuster result. ## Maharaja has earned 83.50 crores gross in India and 115.50+ crores at the overseas box office. It is the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, behind Vettaiyan (253.70 crores approx.), Amaran (333.65 crores approx.) and The Greatest of All Time (457 crores approx.).## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, January 4 - After a very good opening of around 1.20 crores net collection, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani scores an almost 100% jump on its second day of re-release. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial blockbuster had over 750 shows on the first day and with demand rising, the shows doubled on its second day at around 1600 shows. The movie minted an approximately 2.25 crores net collection on Saturday, pushing 2 two-day re-release total of the film to around 3.45 crores. ## The film has good pre-sales for Sunday which should mean another good day at the box office. It is looking for a 6+ crores net opening weekend which will take its total collection (including the original run) to around 195 crores and then break into a 200 crore club by next weekend or before. ## There are a couple of new films releasing next weekend, however, the lack of buzz for them might help YJHD to have an extended re-release run till Republic Day. Hyderabad, January 2 - Pushpa 2 has now officially become the highest-grossing film ever at the Indian box office, beating SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion. Mumbai, January 2 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has achieved a crazy milestone as it has become only the third movie ever to cross 1000 crore gross collection at the worldwide box office in Hindi after superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan. ## The Hindi version of this mega-blockbuster has grossed approximately 925 crores at the domestic box office and over 115 crores overseas for around 1040 crores gross globally. Kochi, December 29 - Malayalam cinema strikes again as A-rated action thriller Marco, touted as the most violent film in Indian cinema, has emerged as a big success and is heading towards 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office. ## Through the second Saturday (9th day), the film grossed approximately 63 crores, including 37.50 crores domestically and around 25+ crores at the overseas box office. With this, it has become the highest-grossing film of actor Unni Mukundan and director Haneef Adeni. ## The previous biggest solo grosser for Unni Mukundan was Malikappuram which grossed approximately 53 crores worldwide while Tamil blockbuster Garudan, which also starred Soori and M. Mumbai, December 29 - Disney's animated adventure Mufasa: The Lion King has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the third Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Deadpool & Wolverine. ## Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its second Saturday (9th day) as EOD gross is expected to be 108+ crores (including 3D charges). The movie has benefitted from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu languages.## The original English version of the film is the top contributor with around 39 crores gross, closely followed by Hindi with 37 crores gross while Telugu and Tamil have generated around 32 crores gross in 9 days. Hyderabad, December 27 - Superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule has become the second highest-grossing film in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) after beating superstar Prabhas-fronted Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion in 23 days.## The Sukumar's directorial action drama has grossed approximately 307+ crores in AP-TG in 23 days (including the 4th Friday) as the second biggest grosser, seating between two SS Rajamouli's directorial ventures - Baahubali 2 and RRR. ## Pushpa 2 took one of the biggest openings in Telugu states approximately 89 crores (including previews), before showing a little drop over the first weekend. However, once the ticket prices lowered, the film showed a better trend and remained the first choice of moviegoers since then. ## With no big film until the Sankranthi festival, Pushpa 2 is expected to continue to score and will look to finish around 350 crores gross.
