Chennai, November 19 - Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's biographical war action drama Amaran has entered the 300 crore club at the worldwide box office, becoming only the 8th Tamil movie of all time to achieve the milestone. ## The Rajkumar Periasamy's directorial venture topped the milestone on its 20th day (third Tuesday) as the total worldwide collection is expected to be around 301+ crores gross, including 224+ crores gross domestically and 77+ crores at the overseas box office. ## Amaran is the second Tamil movie after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time and 8th Indian title of 2024 to hit the box office milestone of 300 crores gross. It is the first for actor Sivakarthikeyan along with actress Sai Pallavi and director Periasamy to have this achievement. ## Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures Films India, Amaran is easily one of the biggest blockbusters of Tamil cinema. Chennai, November 17 - Kollywood star Suriya's Kanguva has an underwhelming extended opening weekend at the box office, considering the hype and craze it had among the fans before release. The movie scored a good opening but it has been a downfall since then. ## The movie scored a minor jump on Sunday, however, a big jump which was needed after the underwhelming first 3 days, was missing. According to the early estimates, the fantasy action thriller scored an estimated 12-13 crores gross collection in all versions on its 4th day. ## In Tamil Nadu, the movie scored more or less in the similar range as yesterday for an estimated 5.50 crores gross while showing a minor jump in most of the other areas. The total first 4-day weekend collection is around 64 crores gross in India, which is underwhelming. ## The negative word of mouth has affected Kanguva big time during the first weekend and now, a rebound looks difficult from hereon. Hyderabad, November 17 - Actor Dulquer Salmaan, who has done the majority of his films in the Malayalam cinema since debuting in this industry back in 2012, finally scored his maiden 100 crores grosser that too from a straight Telugu film, titled Lucky Bashkar. ## Directed by Venky Atluri, the period crime drama film topped this magical box office milestone on its 18th day (3rd Sunday), becoming the first movie of Dulquer and the second for director Atluri (after Vaathi/Sir) to achieve the feat. ## Lucky Bashkar grossed approximately 76 crores domestically and 26.50 crores overseas for a worldwide cume total of 102.50 crores through the third Sunday. It has also become the 6th Telugu movie of 2024 to breach this box office mark. ## The Telugu film industry has been lucky for Dulquer Salmaan who has a 100% success rate in Tollywood. The actor debuted in Tollywood with director Nag Ashwin's Mahanati (2018) which became a big success. Chennai, November 17 — Actress Jyothika has called out the targeted negativity towards her husband, actor Suriya. The award-winning actress took to Instagram and shared her thoughts on Suriya's latest movie Kanguva and how it has been made to suffer with hate campaigns by media and certain fraternities. ## While admitting that Kanguva is not a perfect film with some issues, especially in the first half-hour, the actress said it is also not a bad movie that deserves such a high level of negativity. The movie was released on November 14 and was bashed left, right, and centre on social media which has already affected the box office of the film. ## Speaking about the same, Jyotika said in a long note on Instagram, "I'm surprised with the negative reviews from media and certain fraternities, as it's not done by them to this high level for the most unintellectual big budget films I have seen earlier with age-old stories, where women r stalked, double meaning dialogues r spoken and have the most over the top action sequences".## The actor-producer further said that the media intentionally ignored the positive side while reviewing the film and that has made her wonder largely whether one should ever read, listen or believe reviewers after all. ## "It's sad that they chose this much negativity for Kanguva on day 1, even before the first show was over (seemed more like multiple group propagandas) when it actually deserves applause for the concept and effort taken by the team to create 3D and such a magnificent visual", she added.## Directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green, Kanguva opened to record numbers for actor Suriya but dropped heavily in the next 2 days. Chennai, November 16 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy action thriller Kanguva failed to score a big jump on its first Saturday which was a must after the underwhelming second day. As expected, the negative word of mouth has started cutting the audience. ## According to the early estimates, on the first Saturday/third day the all-India gross of the movie is almost in the similar range as yesterday with around 11 crores gross. The movie has seen a decent but not enough jump in the home state Tamil Nadu with an estimated around 5 crore gross collection today. ## Kanguva needed a big jump today to cover the lost ground but that didn't happen which shows the movie is facing rejection from the audience. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie has seen a drop almost everywhere which is concerning. It is unlikely the movie will see much turnaround on Sunday but a drop will seal the deal. ## The total domestic collection of the film after 3 days is around 51 crores gross which could have been a very good collection of any of Suriya's previous films but can't be said the same about Kanguva which was made on a huge budget. Chennai, November 16 - Sivakarthikeyan's mega-blockbuster Amaran has unlocked one more milestone as it has become the second Tamil movie of 2024 to top 200 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## The movie, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, crossed the milestone on its 16th day after grossing another 4+ crores on the day. The total domestic collection after the third Friday stands at approximately 202 crores gross (175+ crores net). ## Amaran is expected to score a 100% jump on Saturday and then have another big day on Sunday as the third weekend is probably heading for around 20 crores gross which will take the total domestic collation to around 218+ crores gross.## Overseas, the biographical action drama has so far grossed an estimated 75 crores in 16 days and the movie has a chance to top 300 crores gross worldwide by the third Sunday. Chennai, November 15 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy entertainer Kanguva might be starting to feel the heat of negative word of mouth as the collection on its second day/first Friday dropped by over 50% from the record Thursday opening for the actor. ## It was going to be tough for the film to come close to the opening day numbers as word of mouth was poor and that came into effect on its second day only. According to early estimates, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 4-4.50 crores in Tamil Nadu on its second day, which is a drop of around 60%. ## The movie is witnessing a similar drop in Telugu states for an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores gross while in Kerala, the collection dropped massively for an estimated 75 lakh (-80%) and in Karnataka, the movie has minted around 75 lakh, again a heavy drop. ## Kanguva has a decent day in the Hindi belt though the drop is still there for an estimated 3+ crores gross as all India second-day estimates suggest the collection in the range of 10.50-11.50 crores gross, pushing the total to around 39 crores gross after 2 days domestically.## The film has a big Saturday and Sunday to make a mark as it looks like it will struggle big time beyond the weekend. Chennai, November 14 - Tamil star Suriya's long-awaited fantasy action drama Kanguva hit the big screens today amid huge expectations at the box office. As expected, the film has taken the career-best opening for the actor by a good margin. ## According to the early estimates, Kanguva is headed for opening in the range of 11-13 crores gross in Tamil Nadu which is a decent start. In Telugu states, the movie has taken a good start with an estimated gross collection in the range of 5.50-6 crores. ## Kerala was one of the best-performing states for Kanguva in advance sales and the film scored a very good opening of 4-4.50 crores gross there. In Karnataka, it is expected to score in the range of 2.50+ crores gross while the movie surprises in the North belt with a better-than-expected start. ## As per estimates, Kanguva is expected to gross around 4 crores in the Hindi belt as all India estimates suggest 26-28 crore gross opening day (including 3D charges). While this is a good start for the movie, it somehow fell short of expectations as a whole, especially in Tamil Nadu. ## As said, the opening is good but the road ahead might be a difficult one for the film. Mumbai, November 14 - The Diwali weekend Bollywood releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are battling it out to finish on top as they completed two weeks at the box office where the latter might edge past the Rohit Shetty's directorial.## After scoring over 300 crores net collection (331 crores) in the first week, both the films witnessed a collective drop of around 65% in the second one for a combined approximately 106 crores net. BB3, which legged behind by approximately 15 crores net to Singham Again after the 1st week, has reduced that gap to just 4 after the following week. ## The Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy has minted approximately 58 crores net in the second week, pushing the total collection to around 217 crores after 14 days. On the other hand, the Ajay Devgn-starrer cop action drama witnessed a bigger drop for an estimated 48 crores net second week, for around 221 crores total collection. ## Both films have collectively earned approximately 437 crores net (524 crores gross) collection in 2 weeks (14 days) and the final total is headed to finish around 500+ crores net, in which BB3 is likely to finish ahead of its fellow movie at the end of their runs. ## Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, both Singham Again and BB3 have grossed approximately 675 crores in 2 weeks with almost equal share of contribution. ## Stay tuned...
