Chennai, November 9 - Actor Sivakarthikeyan has entered the elite league of Tamil stars to have 200 crore worldwide grosser and 100 crore Tamil Nadu grosser as his latest blockbuster Amaran achieved both milestones on the same day.## The biographical war action drama film is having a sectional second Saturday (10th day) at the domestic as well as overseas box office and with this, it has surpassed the milestone of 200 crores worldwide collection, making it the first for Sivakarthikeyan.## Until the second Friday (9 days), the movie grossed approximately 197.50 crores worldwide, including 140.50 crores in India in all versions. The domestic gross included approximately 95 crores at the Tamil Nadu box office and with the second Saturday collection, it has entered the 100 crore club in the state, again the first for the actor. ## Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Amaran is also the first 200 crores grosser for actress Sai Pallavi and director Rajkumar Periasamy. Mumbai, November 9 - A major box office clash which was shaping up to light up the big screens in the first week of December 2024 has reportedly been averted as Maddock Films' potential blockbuster Chhaava is no longer coming in the way of highly-anticipated Pushpa 2 - The Rule, starring superstar Allu Arjun. ## The Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama was scheduled to be released on December 6, a day after Pushpa 2, but is now looking for a new date to hit the big screens. According to Peepingmoon.com, the Laxman Utekar's directorial is now contemplating two release dates for arrival. ## While the official new release date is yet to be locked, it is said that the makers are weighing either December 20, during Christmas festival weekend or during the Sankranthi festival weekend on January 10 for its release. The final call is expected to be made in the next couple of weeks. ## The Christmas 2024 weekend has some competition as a couple of biggies scheduled to be released at the Hindi box office in the form of the Hollywood title Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20) and Varun Dhawan's hugely-awaited Baby John (December 25) in addition to Pushpa 2 which can have a long run at the box office. ## For Sankranti 2025, there is currently superstar Ram Charan's Game Changer scheduled to release on January 10 in multiple languages, including Hindi in which the movie is expected to do well. It will be interesting to see which slot makers choose to release Chhaava as both are lucrative festive slots for the box office. ## Chhava is a historical epic film based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. Mumbai, November 9 - Director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn has become the highest-grossing film in the franchise at the domestic as well as worldwide box office, beating the lifetime collection of Singham Returns in just 5 days. ## The latest instalment in the cop action drama scored 232 crores gross worldwide in the first 5 days which surpassed the total worldwide collection of Singham Returns' (Singham 2) 216 crores gross. Domestically, Singham 3 outgrossed Singham 2's 200 crores gross in a flat 7 days to become the biggest film in the franchise. ## Singham 3, which is 5th movie in Shetty's cop universe, is currently in the second weekend and has so far grossed approximately 275 crores worldwide, including 217 crores domestically (207.50+ crores net) in 8 days, through the second Friday. Mumbai, November 8 - Ajay Devgn's cop action drama Singham Again begins second weekend with a decent hold after the good first week collection of 173 crores net. ## The movie is witnessing a drop of around 10%-15% on its second Friday from Thursday for an estimated 7.50-8crores net collection, pushing total to over 180 crores net in 8 days. The second weekend is probably heading for 30 crores net. ## The drop in the second weekend is likely to be around 75% which is harsh but is expected given the mixed word of mouth and clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which is now turning into the first choice of the moviegoers. SA, however, will still do enough to cross 200 crores net by Sunday. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan kicks off the second weekend with a strong hold, dropping under 10% for an estimated 8.50-9 crores net collection on its 8th day/second Friday. This takes the total collection to around 167 crores net. ## The second weekend of BB3 is expected to be in the range of 32-33 crores net which is a drop fo around 65%. Mumbai, November 8 - It was recently reported how the OTT platforms have been controlling the theatrical releases of Bollywood films by signing pre-contracts for the streaming release, and this practice has been admitted by producer Bhushan Kumar whose Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 made to clash with director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. ## The box office clash between BB3 and Singham Again didn't make sense as both films were hugely anticipated and were seen as potential blockbusters. While both movies are doing well at the box office, one must admit that their overall potential was cut short by the unwanted clash due to their streaming partners. ## Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that both parties attempted to avoid the clash as both franchises are highly valuable and hold significant audiences. However, despite the intention to not release the movies on the same day, Kumar admitted that contractual constraints with OTT platforms and creative factors made it unavoidable. ## "Nowadays, there are some constraints, like pre-commitments with OTT platforms. If you try to change those dates, the OTT platform doesn't allow it. That was our constraint, and they probably had similar ones", the filmmaker said. BB3 post-theatrical rights are with Netflix while Amazon Prime Video has Singham 3. ## Kumar, however, expressed satisfaction over the fact that both movies are performing well against the odds. "So it's okay as long as our film is getting so much love. And it has done enough business that the film is now safe", he added. ## Released during the lucrative Diwali weekend, Singham Again has scored a very good opening week of over 200 crores gross in India and over 250 crores worldwide. Los Angeles, November 6 - Tom Hardy's Marvel movie Venom: The Last Dance is trying to rebound after a lower-than-expected opening at the domestic box office. The superhero movie surprisingly had a good hold in the second weekend and is keeping this momentum going during the weekdays. ## Meanwhile, the movie had a good second Tuesday domestically which saw the collection witnessing a surge of over 55% from Monday for $3.36 million. It was the presidential election day in the US and instead of focusing on the outcome of the important event, the Americans chose to watch Venom 3 on the big screen. ## According to the local reports, to divert their attention from the election outcome, many Americans went to watch the film and that has helped Venom 3 to score the collection it got on Tuesday which pushed its total domestic collection to $95.3 million in 12 days. ## At the worldwide box office, Venom 3 has crossed $325 million, including $230+ million internationally. Mumbai, November 4 - After the excellent first weekend with over 120 crores net collection, Ajay Devgn's cop action drama Singham Again scores a strong hold on the crucial first Monday with a drop of around 50% from Sunday which is fantastic considering the movie is coming after strong holiday weekend.## According to early estimates, the Rohit Shetty's directorial venture scored in the range of 17-18 crores net. This might go higher depending on mass belts but still fantastic numbers on the working day and in a major clash. This takes the total collection of the movie to around 139 crores net in 4 days.## The initial word of mouth seemed to be mixed but the strong Monday hold indicates the acceptance of the movie among the audience which is a good sign going forward as the movie has an open run with BB3. The first full week can be 175+ crores net which is fantastic. ## Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is also putting up a solid show at the box office and after legging behind Singham Again the opening weekend despite excellent numbers of 106 crores net, the movie has started matching the daily collection. ## Word of mouth for BB3 is positive which was expected to give the movie an edge over Singham Again at some point. According to the early estimates, the film scored in the range of 17-18 crores net. The numbers are pretty much similar to SA today and the exact position will be known by tomorrow morning. ## The total collection of BB3 is around 123+ crores net after 4 days and the first week is headed to 160 crores net which is excellent. As said, there is no new Bollywood film for at least a month so that is a big advantage of both BB3 and SA. Both the movies managed to score 100+ crores each and this is the first time that 2 Bollywood films have scored 100 crores net each in the same weekend. ## Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn along with a strong supporting cast, was the biggest beneficiary during the holiday weekend. The movie scored approximately 121.75 crores net in 3 days and became the 123rd film to enter the 100 crores club in Hindi. ## It is the 14th movie of Ajay Devgn to enter the 100 crore club and the first 100 crore weekend opener for him, beating Golmaal Again which minted approximately 87.60 crores net. For director Rohit Shetty, Singham Again is his biggest and second movie to open with 100 crores net, after Chennai Express (100.50 crores net). ## The horror-comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, despite the fewer screens, competed strongly in the clash with the cop actioner to score the opening weekend of approximately 106 crores net. The movie is proving to be a game changer for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the last few years has been noteworthy. ## Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran grossed around 25 crores domestically in India on Sunday, which took its total collection to approximately 95.50 crores in 4 days, making it the biggest domestic grosser for the actor. Mumbai, November 3 - Actor Kartik Aaryan scores his first 100 crores opener in the form of horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 after the movie showed excellent trend during the Diwali weekend despite a major clash with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again. ## After the career-best opening of 35.50 crores net, followed by a minor jump on Saturday, BB3 holds well on Sunday to score an estimated 32-33 crores net collection with a drop of around 10%-15%. This takes the total collection to around 104+ crores net in 3 days. ## The opening weekend collection of BB3 is almost double that of its predecessor which minted approximately 56 crores in the first weekend and 92 crores in the first full week. It is also the biggest first weekend for director Anees Bazmee and the rest of the main cast. ## BB3 has shown a better trend than Singham Again and the public reception also seems to be in the favour of horror-comedy.
