Los Angeles, October 21 - Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine continues to climb higher and higher at the box office and with its blockbuster run coming to an end, the movie made a final push to beat last year's mega-blockbuster Barbie domestically (North America).## Deadpool & Wolverine grossed a solid $680K in its 13th weekend to push its total cume to $636.3 million at the domestic box office, officially beating Barbie's full run of $636.2 million. With this, it has become the 12th highest-grossing movie ever in North America.## As said, the movie is in its last leg of the theatrical run and will finish as the 12th biggest grosser in the home market. It needs another $16 million to beat Inside Out 2 ($653 million) to become the 11th biggest grosser which is unlikely in its original run. ## Deadpool 3 has grossed $699.4 million at the overseas box office for a worldwide cume of $1.335 billion. Mumbai, October 20 - The historical blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol has completed 29 years since its release. The musical romantic drama marked Aditya Chopra's directorial debut. ## DDLJ emerged as a cult classic and is considered one of the greatest Indian films of all time. It was one of only three Hindi films in the reference book - 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die and was placed 12th on the British Film Institute's list of top Indian films of all time. ## Produced by Yash Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, DDLJ won several accolades at different shows, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and its soundtrack album became one of the most popular of the 1990s. ## DDLJ was a box office phenomenon and broke several records upon its release in 1995. Los Angeles, October 19 - Disney's upcoming animated musical adventure film Moana 2 is gearing up to hit the big screens in November last week of 2024 and it is expected to make a big splash at the box office. ## According to Deadline, the sequel is tracking to earn $105 million - $115 million over its 5-day Wednesday to Sunday opening weekend, and $75 million - $82 million of that during its Friday-Sunday weekend at the domestic box office. The website reported tracking service Quorum's projection. ## The first Moana opened to $82 million over 5 days, including $56.6 million during Friday-Sunday, in 2016 and went to gross $248+ million at the North American box office. ## If the projections for the movie hold true, this will mark the biggest opening for a movie released just before Thanksgiving weekend, beating Disney's Frozen which grossed $93.5 million upon its Wednesday release in 2013.## Deadline reports that the above-mentioned projections for Moana 2 line up with the success of the marketing materials Disney has unveiled so far, including the first trailer which is Disney's most-watched ever for an animated movie with 178 million views in the first 24 hours.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, October 16 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan has entered the 200 crores club at the worldwide box office in just 6 days, becoming the second Tamil movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time.## After the good extended first weekend with 189 crores worldwide gross, Vettaiyan, however, has dropped heavily in the first 2 working days. On Monday, the collection dropped by around 75% followed by another around 25% drop on Tuesday for approximately 14 crores worldwide gross in 2 days. ## The total worldwide collection of the film after 6 days stands at approximately 203 crores gross, including 134 crores in India and 69 crores overseas. The domestic collection of 134 crores includes 81 crores in the home state, Tamil Nadu as it is marching towards 100 crores gross in the state. ## It is the 7th movie of Rajinikanth to top 200 crores worldwide gross, after 2.0, Jailer, Enthiran, Kabali, Petta, and Darbar. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Vettaiyan is the second film of the superstar to enter this box office club after Jailer.## Despite the good first weekend, the overall collection of Vettaiyan is underwhelming due to the weak trend during the weekdays. New Delhi, October 15 - Gippy Grewal's drama film Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di is nearing its box office run but not before becoming the 10th highest-grossing Indian Punjabi movie of all-time at the worldwide box office. ## Released on September 13, the movie directed and fronted by Gippy Grewal has enjoyed a fantastic run at the box office, thanks to the major contribution from the overseas market. In India, the movie has minted approximately 18 crores gross (15+ crores net) and an estimated 25 crores at the international BO. ## With 43 crores worldwide cume in 32 days, it is the second-highest-grossing Punjabi movie of 2024 after Jatt & Juliet 3 (102+ crores gross) and the 10th biggest grosser of all time. The movie had a mid-week release on Thursday and despite that, it took a solid opening of 64 crores globally. ## On its second day/first Friday, Vettaiyan dropped just around 25% at the domestic box office and grossed approximately 27.80 crores.
