Mumbai, August 18 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 has a monstrous first 4-day weekend at the domestic box office with close to 200 crores net collection after the historic Sunday total of 50+ crores net. ## The Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster has had its second 50+ crores net day and the biggest so far in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, the horror-comedy scored in the range of 55 crores net (+/-), which takes its total collection to around 190 crores in just 4 days.## Despite the heavy competition, Stree 2 has been performing like a solo frontloaded blockbuster and the opening weekend numbers are proof of that. There is a holiday on Monday as well due to Raksha Bandhan, so another solid collection is expected as the movie is looking at 225+ crores net extended 5-day weekend. ## Stree 2 has surpassed Shaitaan (148+ crores net) to become the second biggest Bollywood grosser of the year with today's collection. It will beat Figther (212.75 crores net) by tomorrow to become the number 1 Bolly grosser of 2024. Los Angeles, August 18 - 20th Century Studios' science fiction horror Alien: Romulus off to the global opening of over $100 million, against the production budget of $80 million. This is an excellent start for a movie which was supposed to go directly for digital release before the change in plans.## Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), Romulus opened at number 1 this weekend at the domestic (North America) box office, grossing a strong $41.5 million (350 crores). This is the second biggest opening weekend start in the 7 films Alien franchise. ## At the Overseas box office, the Fede Álvarez's directorial collected $66.7 million (560 crores) for the worldwide opening weekend of $108.2 million (910 crores). It opened above industry projection for both domestic and worldwide which was projected at $75 million weekend.## Alien: Romulus is the seventh instalment in the Alien franchise. Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved. ## After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day. ## The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan. ## Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Mumbai, August 17 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped the 100 crores net collection and become the fastest Bollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat, reaching the milestone in less than 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the blockbuster sequel scored approximately 91.70 crores net in the first 2 days, including previews. On its third day (first Saturday), it scored an estimated 43+ crores net and with that, the movie has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie and 10th Indian movie of the year to do so.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the 7th film of Shraddha Kapoor and the second for Rajkummar Rao (after Stree) to top 100 crores net collection. Chennai, August 17 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is all set to premiere digitally after the record-breaking box office performance. The movie is written, directed, and stars Dhanush in the leading role alongside Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.## Released on July 26, the A-rated blockbuster is the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 so far with a worldwide box office collection of around 152 crores gross. Mumbai, August 16 - Marvel Studios and Disney's superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has officially become the highest-grossing R-rated (equivalent to A-rating in India) movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Warner Bros. Pictures' Joker. ## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles, Deadpool & Wolverine has earned $1.08+ billion globally so far, which takes it past Joker which had grossed $1.07 billion in its lifetime run. These two are the only R-rated movies to top $1 billion worldwide.## As reported earlier, Deadpool 3 is the first Disney-released Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019 to top $1 billion globally, and, it is also the first R-rated movie released by Disney. Mumbai, August 15 - Amid the box office juggernaut of Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-starrer action drama Vedaa were battling it out to come second and it is the latter one which won the race by a fair margin.## According to the early estimates, the John Abraham-led scored in the range of 6.50-7 crores net on its opening day. It is a fair opening considering a 3-way clash. It was always going to be difficult for the movie to score due to Stree 2 which was easily the first choice of the moviegoers but Vedaa did decently overcome that challenge.## The occupancy of Vedaa showed improvement throughout the opening day, especially post-noon shows. The opening of the film is above the projections by a decent margin which can be seen as a good sign. The initial word of mouth seems to be mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs in the coming days.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein showed a significant improvement over the actor's last movie Sarfira but the overall opening remained low to the standard of Akshay who has continuously delivered very good starts at the box office.## According to the early estimates, the comedy-drama scored in the range of 5 crores net on its first day which is in sync with projections.
