Mumbai, July 26 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD reached 280 crores net after a good fourth week at the Hindi box office. The film's collection was hit by Bad Newz which scored over 40 crores net in the first week but still, Kalki was the second choice of the moviegoers. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic scored approximately 14 crores net collection, making it the 5th biggest South Indian grosser in the 4th week in the dubbed Hindi version. Baahubali 2 remains the top South Indian grosser, followed by KGF: Chapter 2, Kantara, and RRR in the 4th week.## Rishab Shetty's Kantara is the new entry in the top 5 South Indian grossers in Hindi in the weekly chart. Mumbai, July 25 - It hasn't been a great year for Hollywood movies at the Indian box office with only Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire managing to hit 100 crores net collection in the first 6 months so far. However, things are expected to change in the second half of the year, starting with Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine. ## The third Deadpool movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 26. The anticipation for the movie among Indian audiences is as high as some of the biggest Marvel movies in the past and the pre-sales response indicates the same. ## The Shawn Levy's A-rated directorial, which is reportedly releasing on over 3000 screens across the country, has scored one of the biggest pre-sales of the year in India and one of the biggest for a Marvel title in recent times.## As of 9 PM on July 25, Deadpool 3 sold approximately 360K tickets worth 10+ crores gross collection (12.60+ crores gross with block seats) for the opening day in all versions. This sort of advance could have easily ensured a 30+ crores gross opening, but an 'A' rating of the movie may prove to be a hurdle. ## Marvel has an incredible fan following in India and the performances of its films in the past prove the same. Deadpool 3, despite age restrictions, is still expected to take 25+ crores gross (21+ crores net) opening in all versions. Last year, Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal took an earth-shattering start in India despite an A-rating with excellent advance and spot booking. ## If Deadpool 3 follows the same trend as Animal in the Spot booking (walk-ups), then the opening can be 30+ crores gross and beyond. Mumbai, July 24 - Disney/Pixar has done it again as the studio's latest blockbuster Inside Out 2 has become the highest-grossing animated movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Disney's Frozen 2. ## The sequel to Inside Out (2015), IO2 has grossed $1.46 billion (12245 crores), surpassing Frozen 2's $1.45 billion final gross on July 23. This is the 7th Disney movie and 5th for Pixar in the top 10 animated highest-grossing movies ever globally. ## In the process of outgrossing Frozen 2, the Inside Out sequel had surpassed Margot Robbie's Barbie ($1.44 billion) a day earlier to become the 13th highest-grossing movie ever, behind Tom Cruise's Top Gun Maverick ($1.49 billion). It can enter the top 10 movies in history by topping Top Gun 2, Furious 7 ($1.51 billion), and The Avengers ($1.51 billion). ## Directed by Kelsey Mann (in his feature directorial debut), Inside Out 2's domestic total stands at $601 million (5030 crores) while it has grossed $862 million (7215 crores) at the overseas box office. Mexico has been the biggest international market for the movie with $98.6 million. Kochi, July 24 - Thalapathy Vijay's mega-stardom has once again shaken Kerala's trade with the record-breaking theatrical deal for his upcoming movie The Greatest of All-Time. Gokulam Movies, the leading distribution studio in Kerala has grabbed theatrical rights of the movie. ## According to the Kerala film industry tracker AB George, GOAT Kerala theatrical rights have been sold for 17 crore which is a record deal for a non-Malayalam movie. The previous record also belonged to Vijay when his Leo was sold for 16 crores and it was also bought by Gokulam Movies. ## Thalapathy Vijay is arguably the biggest non-Malayalam superstar in Kerala with an incredible box office pull. Leo, which was released in October last year, did wonders at the Kerala box office by grossing approximately 60 crores which is a record for a Tamil title in the state. ## Talking about GOAT, it is a science fiction action film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. Mumbai, July 23 - From its lowest opening ever in The Marvels ($110 million worldwide) in November last year to potentially one of the biggest in the MUC history in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine, Marvel Studios/Disney is about to change the fate within just 9 months.## Recently, the domestic (North America) box office projection for the third Deadpool movie was revealed at $160+ million, by far the biggest opening for an R-rated (equal to A rating in India) movie ever and now, there is more for the studios to keep their expectations high. ## According to Deadline, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted blockbuster are looking at $340 million - $360 million opening at the global box office, including $180 million - $190 million overseas start which would be the biggest for an R-rated. ## These projections seem to be conservative as a previous report by Deadline (quoting a tracking agency) projected a $200+ million domestic start before most of the tracking sites brought that projection down to $160+ million. Overseas, the movie can still open at $200+ million as reports suggest the pre-sales are exceptional everywhere, so a $400+ million worldwide start is very much a possibility. ## If the aforementioned projection holds, it would be the third biggest MCU opening post the COVID-19 pandemic after Spider-Man: No Way Home ($600 million) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($452 million). Mumbai, July 22 - After the opening weekend of nearly 30 crores net, Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk's comedy-drama Bad Newz sees a drop of over 60% on its first Monday which is a little higher than expected.## According to the early estimates, the Anand Tiwari's directorial scored in the range of 3.50 crores net collection on its 4th day, pushing the total collection to over 33 crores net. The drop from opening day is over 50% which was needed to be under 50% to be called a decent hold. ## Bad Newz is heavily dependent on multiple audiences as mass centres are not showing much interest which was expected given the theme of the film. Given the fact that Bad Newz is performing fairly well among its target audience, the first Monday hold can be seen as a respectable one. ## The movie needs to perform to the level of Monday's collection throughout the week as first full week is headed to finish around 41 crores net. Mumbai, July 22 - After recently becoming the first animated film franchise to reach $5 billion globally, the sixth overall instalment in the Despicable Me franchise, Despicable Me 4 has surpassed $500 million at the worldwide box office and is heading towards the magical milestone of $1 billion. ## The sequel to Despicable Me 3 (2017), and the fourth main instalment, Despicable Me 4 grossed $75 million worldwide in its 5th weekend which soared its global cume to $574.4 million (4805 crores). This includes $259.5 million (2170 crores) in North America and $314.90 million (2635 crores) overseas. ## Despicable Me 4 has now overtaken the first Despicable Me’s lifetime global haul of $544 million, to become the franchise's fifth-biggest instalment. The latest blockbuster is now being projected to enter the magical box office club of $1 billion globally, and if it gets there, it will be the third film in the franchise, after Minions ($1.1 billion), and Despicable Me 3 ($1 billion) to achieve the feat.## In 2024, only Inside Out 2, another animated blockbuster by Pixar, has crossed the $1 billion mark as it is on the line to become the all-time biggest animated grosser by crossing Frozen II ($1.45 billion). Bad Newz needs to hold well on its first Monday which is crucial for the sake of its long legs at the box office.## Overall, the opening weekend total of around 30 crores net is respected but the real game for the movie begins on Monday which will determine where it will go. Hyderabad, July 21 - 7 years after scripting box office history with Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion, Pan India superstar Prabhas has done it again as his Kalki 2898 AD has become the 7th Indian movie and the second for the actor to enter the 1000 crores club at the worldwide box office. ## The sci-fi epic, directed by Nag Ashwin, has done what it was expected to achieve before its release on June 27. It took just 25 days for Kalki to breach the milestone of 1000 crores worldwide gross, making it the 3rd Telugu-origin title and 4th South Indian film to do so. ## Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 990 crores gross globally in the first 24 days and on its 4th Sunday (25th day), the movie added another estimated 12 crores gross, taking its worldwide cume to over the magical figure of the thousand crores gross. ## Including the 5th Sunday collection, the epic blockbuster has minted an estimated 733 crores gross in India and 270 crores overseas.
