Los Angeles, July 11 - Kamal Haasan's vigilante action film Indian 2 is set for a good start at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. The pre-sales of the movie have been picking up with just a day to go before the release which is July 12. ## Apart from the domestic pre-sales, Shankar's directorial movie has managed to generate good advance sales for the North American premiere. According to Venky Box Office, the NA premiere pre-sales of Indian 2 is $650K (5.45 crores), including $580K (4.85 crores) in the USA alone after the big jump yesterday.## In the USA, Indian 2 has sold approximately 28K tickets from over 1450 shows at 484 locations for the premiere which is on tomorrow. The movie is heading for an all-time top 5 premiere day for a Tamil title and the biggest for Kamal Haasan and director Shankar. ## Meanwhile, at the Indian box office, Indian 2 has so far scored approximately 10+ crores gross pre-sales (with block seats) in all versions for the opening day. The sales have picked up nicely over the last 24 hours and it is expected to show a further jump on the last day before release.## Indian 2 is produced by Lyca Productions, and it stars Kamal Haasan, reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, with Siddharth, S. Chennai, July 10 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action thriller Kanguva with director Siva is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a proper Pan India tentpole. ## The makers have been careful about Kanguva's release and were looking to bring it on the big screen after Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule which is scheduled to release on December 6 this year. However, the success of the recently released Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD changed everything. ## During a recent interview, Kanguva producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green opened up that he was looking to postpone the movie further to the next year but then Kalki 2898 AD happened and made him change his mind due to its strong box office performance in North India. ## "I didn't sleep for three days ahead of Kalki 2898 AD's release. Because its success or failure will directly impact every South film released in the North. The trust of the audience and trade would have gone away from South films that are released in Hindi if Kalki hadn't worked", the filmmaker told Galatta Plus. ## Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been a force at the Hindi box office. It has already become the biggest grosser of the year in Hindi with over 225 crores net collection and still going strong while worldwide, the movie is nearing 900 crores gross.## "I announced the release date for Kanguva the day Kalki was released after it started performing well in Hindi-speaking states. Otherwise, I would have waited for the release of Pushpa 2 to bring back the positivity. As a producer, I need to find the right time to release, devise the right promotional strategy, and ensure the quality of the content", KE Gnanavel Raja added.## Kanguva is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2024, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Los Angeles, July 10 - After becoming the first billion-dollar grosser of the year, Pixar's mega-hit Inside Out 2 climbs another milestone as it has become the highest-grossing movie of Pixar Animation Studio at the global box office. ## The sequel to Inside Out (2015) has been a box-office phenomenon since its debut on June 14 and is currently in the 4th week of its run. On its 4th Tuesday, IO2 has outgrossed Incredibles 2 ($1.24 billion) to become the biggest Pixar blockbuster globally. ## After surpassing Incredibles 2, Inside Out 2 has also become the 4th highest-grossing animated movie of all time, behind Frozen 2 ($1.45 billion), The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1.36 billion), and Frozen ($1.29 billion). New Delhi, July 10 - Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's romantic-comedy Jatt and Juliet 3 has become the highest-grossing Punjabi film at the overseas box office, beating Gippy Grewal's Carry On Jatt 3. ## Directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, Jatt & Juliet 3 has grossed an estimated 48+ crores in international markets in 13 days so far, outgrossing the entire overseas run of COJ3's 46 crores to become the biggest non-domestic Punjabi title of all-time. ## The worldwide collection of J&J3 is approximately 85 crores gross with over 60% contribution from the overseas collection driven by North America with approximately $3 million (25 crores). Hyderabad, July 10 - Kalki 2898 AD is holding decently in the second week and is marching towards 900 crores club after surpassing 850 crores gross collection in just 13 days at the worldwide box office, by far the biggest Indian grosser of the year. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic remained at over 10 crores mark for 13 consecutive days now, taking its total collection to an estimated 630 crores gross collection at the domestic box office. Mumbai, July 9 - Kalki 2898 AD continues to put a solid show at the Hindi box office is approaching 250 crores net sooner than expected. The movie had a solid hold on the second Monday despite the weather challenges for approximately 6.50 crores net. ## The Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic is showing a drop of around 10% on its second Tuesday (13th day) for an estimated 5.50-6 crores net, pushing the total Hindi collection to 224.50+ crores in 13 days. Tokyo, July 9 - Director Prashanth Neel's action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire scored the third biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie at the Japan box office. The Prabhas-fronted movie was released on July 5, six months after it debuted in December 2023. ## According to a trade report, Salaar grossed ¥18.2 million (Rs. 95 lakh) in the first weekend, playing at nearly 200 locations. It has beaten Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan which grossed JPY 14.6 million in the opening weekend in Japan to score the third biggest start for an Indian title. ## SS Rajamouli's RRR starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan remains the biggest Indian opener in the anime country with JPY 44 million in 2022, followed by Prabhas' Saaho with JPY 23 million.
