Mumbai, June 29 - In a major surprise, the Japanese animated dark fantasy film "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" is having a good advance booking at the Indian box office. The movie will be released in the original Japanese language on Thursday (June 30) in the 2D, IMAX 2D, and 4DX formats. ## Based on the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen 0, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" has already sold over 17K tickets at the national multiplex chains in India, which is very good considering the movie is having a limited release and that too in the original language. Such good advance booking of the movie also becomes very good knowing the fact that Japanese movies haven't had a great history at the Indian box office. ## Directed by Sunghoo Park, the movie is a prequel to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series. It was originally released on December 24, 2021, in Japan before the international rollout. It has grossed over $161 million worldwide (according to Box Office Mojo), including $108 million at the Japanese box office. ## The movie follows Yuta Okkotsu, a young student who becomes a sorcerer and seeks to control the cursed spirit of his childhood friend Rika Orimoto in Jujutsu High alongside other skilled mates. Chennai, June 27 - Kamal Haasan's blockbuster return to the movies with Vikram has brought cheers to the Tamil film industry. The movie has not only surprised the industry trackers but also exceeded the expectations of the makers by putting up once in lifetime kind of show at the box office. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, the action thriller movie has completed 24 days in theaters since its release on June 3rd. It opened with a bang at the box office and scored a whopping opening weekend of 110.80 crores gross in India, which is the biggest for a Tamil movie in 2022. It received excellent reviews, probably the best for any movie this year, from critics and audiences alike which resulted in huge box office numbers. ## "Vikram", after taking a huge opening, continued its excellent run over the weekdays and further. Mumbai, June 26 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, at the age of 59, has scored an unbelievable milestone at the box office as his action drama film Top Gun Maverick has raced past the $1 billion mark globally.## The Paramount/Skydance movie has become only the second title to reach the milestone during the covid-19 pandemic and the first for Tom Cruise in his entire career. According to Deadline, the movie has scored an estimated $1.006B worldwide, including domestic's (North America) estimated $521.7M and $484.7M from the international box office through Sunday. It took just 31 days to break into a $1 billion global haul. ## The sequel to 1986's "Top Gun" scored $900 million last Monday, and a few days prior had topped $800M to become Cruise's biggest movie ever at the worldwide box office. Hailed as one of the greatest movie sequels ever made in Hollywood history, the movie is now the second-highest-grossing movie during the pandemic after "Spier-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89B) worldwide. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, "Top Gun 2" has been on a record-breaking run since its debut in late May. It scored Cruise's biggest overseas and domestic debuts, and despite the release of "Jurassic World Dominion" in the following weekend, it remained unaffected overseas as well as domestically. ## "Top Gun Maverick's" performance is a testament to the work that Paramount's distribution and marketing teams put behind it, while Cruise himself deserves massive credit for visiting several countries to promote the movie.
